I woke up to the smell of my mom's cooking. She had started making breakfast early because today was a special today. Today was when I would receive my first pokemon. I was so excited to finally be a trainer. I jumped up from the bed and got on my clothes. I raced downstairs as fast as I could. Mom put some eggs on my plate as I plopped down in my chair. "Ready for your big day?" She said. I ate a bite of eggs and replied, "You bet! Who am I gonna pick?" Mom grabbed out a sheet of paper, "Your options are Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur."
I thought about it for a bit, but couldn't decide. Water, Grass, or Fire? I put my fist on my cheek thinking. Mom laughed, "You have more time to think about it. Just eat your breakfast for now." I nodded and went back to eating my eggs. Mom had always made the best eggs, and thats probably why she made them today. Before I knew it, I was done. "Thanks." I said. Mom smiled, "No problem. You better get down to Oak's lab." I nodded, grabbed my hat, and left.
Gary had left his house at the same time as I did. He scowled at me and ran to his grandfather's lab. I grinned as I raced him to it. When we got to the doors, they flung open and hit us in the head. We fell over as Professor Oak laughed. He helped us up and led us inside. "Now, shall you pick your pokemon?" He said. I was still thinking. However, one thing made me decide. I saw the determination in one of those pokemon's eyes. It was Bulbasaur. I smiled, "I pick him." Oak nodded as Bulbsaur jumped on my head.
Gary smirked, "Pathetic." He grabbed Charmander. Now that I was done here, I went toward the exit. However, Gary stopped me. He demanded a battle. I turned my hat around and Bulbasaur jumped down. The grassy dinosaur and I nodded at eachother and then faced Gary and his Charmander. Only knowing eachother for a few minutes, Bulbasaur and I already had a great bond.
