Tales of a hero-I mean everyday werewolf

by Gamingfan

Gamingfan Uh..written by boredom.

What can I say except I suck at writing~
Warning: Some gore. It won't go too into detail, but just a warning. Also this sucks, be aware of that.

Screams.

Explosions.

Inhuman screeching.

It was so annoying.

In the middle of a forest, a black wolf groaned in annoyance. He stood a whopping ten feet, ten inches tall, covered in pitch black fur pierced by blood red eyes. Said eyes drooped in exhaustion.

After a good hunt, the wolf named O.S planned on tucking in for the day. Unfortunately, the village nearby had some commotion happening, showing no signs of stopping. O.S glared at the bright light that flared with each boom, before sighing.

Alright, I'll check it out. I'll never get to sleep at this rate.

O.S landed on all fours, walking towards the light show with disinterest.

~~

It was quite a sight.

The stone and wood houses were alight, which explained the light, and there were a fair amount of humans screaming in fear and/or agony. So that explained that.

The most interesting sight, however, were the quadrupedal, multicolored lizards crawling around, spitting fire over the area and occasionally biting a human in half.

Actually, O.S thought as he noticed their wings, They look like dragons.

I guess the fire was the bigger hint.

It was then the dragon in the middle, the biggest one covered in cyan and green scales, noticed the large wolf standing in the middle of the chaos, silently pondering as humans were eaten left and right.

"And who might you be? The village mascot?" he hissed, slithering towards O.S and standing on his hind legs. He was humongous, standing two feet above O.S, who shook his head.

"Nah, just a neighbor. What's with the armageddon lizard?"

The dragon hissed again as the destruction continued behind him. "These humans are bothersome, always killing our prey and stealing our water. We tolerated them only because they would flee at the sight of us. That is, until the killed one of our own, and stole our eggs! We couldn't let them get away with that. Soon, humans will become our prey, our livestock, our-!"

O.S snorted "Mmm yes, humans are bad and stuff. Whatever you say. Listen, it's late and I wanna sleep. You mind keeping the death and destruction quieter, or wait until tomorrow? “
The dragon grinned, staring at O.S mockingly. “And if I don’t?”
“I’ll have to try a little taste test. Never ate a dragon before, you better hope I don’t find your species as tasty prey.”
That seemed to ruffle him. The dragon glared at O.S.
“How about I try first.” he growled savagely.
WIth that, he snapped over O.S shoulder.
He paused, however, not because he wanted to, but because he didn’t bite his arm clean off. His fangs sunk, but that’s about it. O.S didn’t look fazed at all, wearing an almost bored expression.
“Aight. Now me.”
Without missing a beat, O.S grabbed the dragon, and took a large bite out of his neck. His jaws went through the crystalline scales as if they were ice cream. The unnamed dragon fell over screeching, holding his bleeding neck in pain.
“GYAHHHH! Wha-What the hell are you-?”
O.S didn’t respond, chewing thoughtfully.
"Eh, it's okay. A bit spicy, kinda ruining the ice cream imagery, but alright." Despite the decent review, O.S spat the meat mass out.
"Would taste better if there wasn't fire everywhere. Nice winter snack though."
The dragon screeched in return, trying to move but flinching every time. O.S shrugged, grabbing the reptile by the neck and staring at him dead on, his red eyes sparking like the fires. The marks the dragon boss left on his were already healing.

“I warned you. I'm not a guy to mess with.” he said casually, promptly snapping the dragon’s damaged neck afterward.
Then he realized how silent it was.

O.S wiped the sweat off his brow as he stood. Around him were smaller dragons, staring at O.S in surprised silence. O.S put his hands on his hips.
“Fight or flight? Choose wisely.”

The dragons swarmed him.

~(Insert super-cool fight scene I can’t include because I suck at writing fights!)~

O.S held the last dragon as arm’s length, staring at it pitifully.

“A for effort I guess.” he said as he crushed his skull.

Despite the easy win, the dragons managed to land many hits in succession. O.S’s body was bruised and cut, and he had a black eye. Still, they were healing.

A voice caught the werewolf’s attention.
“You...You saved us?”
O.S turned to see a man cautiously advance towards him.
“Huh, I guess I did. Not that I wanted to.” O.S responded, turning fully. The man flinched.
“I’m not gonna hurt you. Probably.” he comforted...somewhat.

“Well, I guess it was just surprising. I was hiding nearby, and they way you just...fought.” he shuddered at the memory.
O.S shrugged, walking past the man and towards the forest.
“Whatever. I’ll be goi-”

“Wait! We..We don’t have much right now, but-”

O.S groaned, turning again and bending over the man threateningly, shoving a furry finger in his chest
“Listen. I am no hero. I do not want payment. What’s a werewolf supposed to do with money huh? If you really wanna pay: LET. ME. SLEEP. No celebration parties until daytime, kay?” he didn’t wait for a response, turning and running into the trees and out of sight.

The man stared into the darkness O.S left through, before noticing some surviving villagers come out of hiding along with him. They all looked around quizzically.

“What happened?” one asked.

The man smiled “We were saved by a deity.”

They all cheered.

GODDAMMIT!” O.S’ growl rumbled from the forest. “WHAT DID I JUST SAY?!
