Katie's Kalos Adventures: Starter Flash Challenge

by Rainbowditto

Rainbowditto I was excited to see that another flash challenge had been announced! So here's something about Katie's first journey and the starter she picked.
Felix Sat perched on the statue outside the Santalune Gym, his yellow eyes focused on his trainer as she battled with a pikachu they had caught in the forest. The pikachu had never battled before, and Felix was enjoying watching her fail. Yet his trainer was trying her hardest to make this battle a successful one because a brand new bike was on the line. The person she was battling had suggested giving roller skates as a prize, but Katie had grimaced and asked for a new bike instead.
So far, Felix had watched the pikachu mistook a thunder shock for a growl, and fall on her face at least three times. He could tell that Katie was almost ready to send him in exchange for the failing pikachu. And he was right. Not four seconds after this thought, Katie called her froakie out onto the field.
Felix grinned as Sasha (the pikachu) hopped past him onto the statue. Katie grinned at her partner, knowing that this trainer no longer stood a chance.
"Alright Felix! Let's go with a bubble followes up by a pound. Move fast so that the opponent has no chance to attack!!"
Felix hopped to the left, ignoring the other trainer barking commands at its fletchling. Instead, he shot bubbles from his mouth at the listening pokemon, and then shot bubbles at the ground, stirring up dust in the process. The fletchling and it's trainer both let out gasps of confusion and Felix saw his chance to use pound.
He kept at his opponent through the dust, and only heard a light thud as it hit the ground in a full out fainted status.
Katie let out a whoop of joy as the dust cleared and the other trainer recalled its pokemon in defeat.
"Hey that was fun!" Katie called, "And I'm glad that Sasha was able to gain some experience before the gym."
The other trainer nodded and began to roll the bike towards Katie with a smile. "Yeah, that froakie's smart, and I gotta hand it to ya, cause that was some quick thinking."
The two trainers continued to talk, but Felix wasn't listening anymore. He was now looking at Sasha with a smug expression on his face. Sasha glared back at him with contempt. She felt like this was going to be the start of a 'beautiful' relationship.
