Home. Where was it again? I can't exactly make it out. Saving the world, did that have something to do with it? Did it? I can't remember. If only. It would be nice to be there again.
The splashes of the waves on the shore were the only sounds I could hear. It was hard to move. I could only manage to stretch out my arms the teeniest bit. The soft sand underneath my body numbed the pain I was feeling all over my body. This wasn't normal sand. I could feel some presence beneath it. I hadn't gotten that feeling before.
My chest started to feel weird. I gasped for air. I started sputtering. What was happening? I could feel a strange energy emanating from nearby. What was this feeling? I had never been able to sense things like this before...
The sand was shifting beneath me. I felt the energy getting stronger.
"What am I meant to do? He's unconscious!"
That voice... I had never heard it before, yet it sounded familiar.
A claw-like hand grabbed my shoulder and pushed me around, making me face the sky.
I opened my eyes, and that's when I saw him.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
The energy I could sense became calm. "I'm fine, thanks."
I trudged along the beach I had once been before. I could remember the taste of the sand as my face was towards the ground. I couldn't remember anything before then. Was that where my home was? Lost in a forgotten memory? I glanced over towards Beach Cave. I could remember the very first time I went in there. My first expedition with Charmandem...
"Is this the pit? Have we made it?" Charmandem asked in his friendly voice.
"Seems so," I replied, glancing around the sandy area that marked the end of the cave.
I heard footsteps behind us. A band of purple and white blocked our way out. They called themselves Team Skull, which, if you ask me is an obnoxious name, just like them.
I giggled. I could so fondly remember me and Charmandem's first battle with Team Skull. I remembered him taking me to sign up to make an exploration team at the guild. Then I remembered something else...
He pulled away a bush near the end of the cliff-face, to reveal a flight of stairs leading down.
"This is the place I call home," he said as he took me down. "The people around this place call the cliff Sharpedo Bluff. I found this cave and made a home out of it."
I looked down the stairs once more. It was the place I call home. It may not be as comfortable as I imagine my real home, but I'm proud to call this place my accommodation. And after countless explorations and saving the world...
I was finally back.
