Fate: The Multiverse Saga: Prologue

by CheerfulSteekip

CheerfulSteekip Before we could even play the Harmonic Multiverse Journeys game, something really tragic and another that was unexpected happened...
It all started on a normal day. A few hazy clouds dotted the blue sky, and the sun beat down on the grass. School was dismissed, and summer was in full swing. In the real world, where the game was made, me and my best friend Megan were both eight at the time, only a few months since we finished 3rd grade and still brimming with excitement. The test run of our new game was my idea. I thought it would just be a fun way for us to test the strength of our friendship. We met in the field just outside our school, laughing and joking as we always did. Megan got out her Switch and I got mine out...and both of us got a Poke Ball Plus apparently containing an Eevee and a Pikachu respectfully. Ever since we finished our Let's Go! runs, Fleur and Sparky have been the most important things in the world to us, and I thought that we could do anything even without them. Geez, was I wrong. Just before we could even get started, our now former teacher came to us and said something that would not only change our lives forever...but also mark the beginning of something really, really unexpected.

"Elisa Yvonne and Megan David, I'm sorry. Your parents were killed in a car accident."

Everything else was a blur. We remember ourselves screaming out of fear. We remember all the good times we had with our families. We remember the sterile, white walls of the hospital.

It was after the funeral, one week later. I couldn't believe we could not be adopted due to unknown reasons. Megan couldn't stop apologizing to me, but I wasn't upset at her. I knew it wasn't her fault, but that didn't change the fact that our parents were gone. I'm at least lucky that someone has legally decided to guard us from harm, though I don't know who is it.

One night, when we finally decided to properly play the game the next day, something really strange happened. We were sharing the same dream while asleep. I had no idea what was going on until a certain young woman came to us. "Could it be Professor Juniper of the Unova region?" I wondered.

But that was the only thing I could say. The dream world turned dark and we all ran until the darkness banded to Megan and me...and when we woke up, something really was wrong. Floating in white space, Megan and I had no ideas left but to figure out where we're gonna land. And when we did land, we couldn't believe what's going on...

To be continued...?

    It's set in someone else's perspective... ...
I think someone could do almost as good as this.
