Porygon2 was given an update in order to guard it against glitches. While the original intention of its upgrade was merely to protect it, the plan changed and it became capable of protecting other devices and even people from mechanical malfunctions.

Upon entering battle, all field effects other than entry hazards (Weather, Terrains, Rooms) are set to normal, and any additional typings (from Forest’s Curse, for example) or type losses (Burn Up, for example) are regained. Status Conditions and Entry Hazards remain.)
