Pokemon: Destinies Collide

Part 1: Kanto

Chapter 1: Choose Your Starter

I got up. Wow, finally! It’s the day where I pick up my starter! I thought. I hugged my stuffed Pikachu plush tightly and let go. I put on my cap and my trainers. Then I put on a little jacket with some jeans and a backpack, and I went off on my journey.

Meanwhile, my neighbour and rival Samantha got up fresh and early (Unlike me, who woke up surprisingly late), put on a jacket, some casual leggings, a pair of sneakers, and a backpack, and went off. She smiled smugly.

We reached Professor Oak’s lab at the same time. I was sweating and panting while Samantha was puffing out her chest.

“I go first!” I said.

“No, I go first!” Samantha said.

“Relax, you both go first.” Professor Oak said.

Chapter 2: I Choose You!
Professor Oak led us into the lab, and into a dark room. It had tons of mechanical supplies, and a lot of monitors. A tray with three pokeballs with Japanese letters engraved on them sat in the middle.

“Do you want Bulbasaur, The Seed Pokemon?” Oak asked Samantha.

“Yes, yes! It’s so cute!” Samantha squealed.

I sighed. Bulbasaur looked up at Samantha and said, “Bulba!”

“Professor, I want Charmander, please. Leave Squirtle for someone else.” I said seriously.

“Well, okay, my nephew.” Professor Oak smiled.

I took Charmander’s pokeball, and Samantha took Bulbasaur’s pokeball.

“Bye, bye, Chowder!” Samantha mocked.

I rolled my eyes. “See you later, Sammy Lammy.”

I headed into the first route. And guess what…

Chapter 3: A Wild Pokemon Appeared!

A Pidgey flock was in sight. I had approached Route 1, connecting Pallet Town and Viridian City together. A rough path leading to the flock was right beneath my feet.

I sneaked up behind the flock. After a few pecks, I managed to direct a Pidgey from the flock and engage a battle with Charmander.

“Charmander, Scratch!” I said.

With a scratch, I managed to bring the Pidgey’s health down to critical. I threw one of my five pokeballs at it. The pokeball twitched three times, and it lit up. I caught it!

I met Samantha at the end. Before that, I received a Potion from the Viridian City Poke Mart Employee and healed Pidgey back up to full health.

“I caught a Pidgey.” I snickered.

“I caught a top percentage Rattata.” Samantha said.

Chapter 4: Viridian City

“Wow, so this is Viridian City!” I gasped.

The city was really a green paradise, and it was beautiful. I decided to stop at the Poke Mart for a while. Turns out I had no money.

In the middle of the City, I saw a grumpy old man blocking my path to Pewter City.

“Excuse me, but may I please go?” I said politely.

“Deliver Oak’s Parcel. Here.” The old man grumbled.

Samantha passed by after grinding and ran after me. She yelled after me, threatening to get my parcel. I ran to the Poke Mart and delivered the parcel to Oak.

“Rats! I guess you win.” Samantha grumbled.

I snorted and went to grind.

After a ton of grinding, my Charmander learnt Ember and Smokescreen, and Pidgey learnt Gust. “See you at the Pewter Gym.” I said gruffly.

Chapter 4: Brock

I arrived at the Pewter Gym shortly after I caught a Nidoran Male. It looked spectacular. I entered the gym and was greeted by Brock, the leader in the gym.

“Hello, I am Brock. Would you like to fight?” Brock said.

“Sure!” I replied.

The battle began.

“Go Geodude!” Brock yelled.

“Charmander, go!” I said.

“Geodude, use Tackle!” Brock said.

“Dodge, and use Smokescreen!” I yelled.

The whole field filled with smoke. It lowered Geodude’s accuracy and evasion.

“Geodude, Defence Curl!” Brock ordered.

“Charmander, hit from behind with Scratch!” I said.

Chapter 5: The Boulder Badge

Geodude fainted. Brock smiled, and sent out Onix. I gasped. Charmander grew to level 13, thanks to the immense experience. I replaced Growl with Dragon Rage.

“Onix, Tackle!” Brock said.

I sent out Pidgey.

“Pidgey, dodge and use Sand Attack!” I said.

“Onix, Bide!” Brock said.

He’s setting up, I thought.

“Pidgey, Gust, now!” I yelled.

“Now, Onix, use Tackle!” Brock yelled.

“Pidgey, Tackle!” I said.

Onix fell. Pidgey learnt Quick Attack.

I finally got my Boulder Badge, and I put it in my badge case.

Samantha breezed through. I can’t believe it!

I grinded more and got my Nidorino. Yay!

Chapter 6: Level Ups and TMS

I reached Route 3. It was the perfect place to grind for my next gym. I sped through trainers, grinded so hard. Of course, we couldn’t leave without Samantha.

She had a Nidorina, Bulbasaur and her Raticate that evolved from Rattata.

“You’re building up good, but can you beat my team?” Samantha challenged.

“Oh, battle?” I said, after grinding, and getting Charmeleon, Pidgeotto and Nidoking from a Moon Stone I found.

I battled Samantha long and hard, and eventually won. I walked on the rocky trail and found a cave. Inside, I saw tons of TMS

“Oh my god! Yes!” I squealed.

I found Fly for Pidgeotto, Fire Blast for Charmeleon and Focus Blast for Nidoking! Nidoking already had Earthquake, Megahorn and Sludge Bomb, so Focus Blast was great!

Chapter 7: Mt. Moon

Mt. Moon was where I got my Moon Stone. I went into the caves, and snared myself a Sandslash. The other pokemon made perfect experience for grinding and levelling up my Pokemon.

Of course, Samantha was there. Her Bulbasaur evolved into Ivysaur. She was here to get Nidoqueen.

My Charmeleon’s moveset was: Scratch, Dragon Rage, Fire Blast, and Fire Fang. And my Pidegeotto’s was: Tackle, Gust, Twister and Feather Dance. Sandslash: Dig, Slash, Crush Claw, and Rollout.

Samantha’s Ivysaur’s moveset: Tackle, Leech Seed, Solar Beam and Growth.

Her Raticate: Swords Dance, Protect, Sucker Punch and Hyper Fang.

I guess we’re tied pretty closely right now…I thought as I walked out of Mt. Moon.

I had reached Cerulean City.

Chapter 8: Misty

When I entered the Cerulean Gym, it looked like a swimming pool! What the heck? Misty was standing in the middle of the pool. I’ve a feeling my Charmeleon’s going to have the worst time.

“Let the battle…begin!” Misty said.

“Staryu, let’s go!” Misty cheered.

“Pidgeotto, come on out!” I said.

“Staryu, Water Gun, and hit its wing!”

“Dodge, and use Feather Dance!”

“Staryu, Tackle!”

“Pidgeotto, Twister!” I said.

I landed a critical hit and Staryu fainted. Misty sent out Starmie and I sent out Nidoking.

“Megahorn, full power!”

“Bubble Beam, Starmie!”

Megahorn landed and made Starmie faint.

Chapter 9: The Cascade Badge

“Well done! Here is your Cascade Badge.” Misty said.

I smiled in return and looked at my Cascade Badge. It shined brightly. I put it inside my badge case beside my Boulder Badge. Again, Samantha breezed through. Why. L

I left the gym, looking at my map at which is the next town or route.

Apparently, I need to go through the Rock Tunnel to reach Lavender Town.

Samantha said, “Easy, bye, bye, runt!”

“I am not a runt!” I screamed.

The Rock Tunnel was very dark. I was lucky I had torchlight, and I flashed its light. I found many grinding pokemon, which was great news for me. I needed to grind hard for the next gym.

Along the way, I found some Onix, and the occasional Machop. I finally got out and reached…Lavender Town.

Chapter 10: Lavender Town

I hate Lavender Town, mainly because of the ghost sightings. Creepy….I thought.

I went into the Poke Mart to buy some Great Balls (6) and some Super Potions (4). Then I left. I healed up and I left for Route 8 at the west of the town.

I realised I missed Vermillion City and I felt STUPID. I bet 1000 Poke dollars that Samantha was there. So I went back to the City and grinded hard. I also snared a Gyarados with a Great Ball.

I decided it was time to face Lt. Surge. I had Earthquake on my Nidoking and had a Sandslash, so I think I’ll be fine.

“Let’s battle!” Lt. Surge said.

“Voltorb, Tackle!”

“Nidoking, Earthquake!” I said.

Voltorb fainted. Lt. Surge sent out his other Pokemon and I all fainted them with Earthquake.

Chapter 11: The Thunder Badge

I received my Thunder Badge and put it in my badge case. Lt. Surge advised me to go back to Lavender Town and head to Celadon City. I heeded his advice.

I went to the Celadon Department Store for some quick stock-ups and some nice items. In the end I bought: 3 more Great Balls, a Thunder Stone and an antidote.

I went into grinding and got myself an Eevee. I levelled it up to Level 33 to tie with Nidoking, Sandslash, Charmeleon and Pidgeotto. Then I used the Thunder Stone on it, and got a Jolteon. After that, I ran back to a poke mart to get TMs Thunderbolt and Volt Switch to add to Jolteon’s Thunder Wave and Agility.

Of course, Samantha got an Eevee too, and evolved it into a Vaporeon and her moveset was: Ice Beam, Surf, Scald and Rain Dance.

I grinded more and got a Charizard and Pidgeot.

Chapter 12: Erika

I entered the gym of Celadon. Erika greeted me warmly, and then the battle began.

“Tangela, let’s go!”

“Charizard, come out!”

“Tangela, let’s use Constrict!”

“Charizard, Fire Blast!”

Tangela fainted.

“Victreebel, come on out!”

“Charizard, Flamethrower!”

Victreebel fainted.

“Vileplume, come out and use Sleep Powder!”

“Dodge and use Fire Blast!”

Vileplume fainted.

Erika congratulated me and handed me the Rainbow Badge. I thanked her and put it in my little case. I waved good-bye and ran off, going to Saffron City, where Sabrina resides.

Chapter 13: Secret Mission

After months of hard work, I finally perfected my Charizard’s and Pidgeot’s movesets. Charizard: Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Thunder Punch and Dragon Claw. Pidgeot: Fly, Roost, Feather Dance and Hurricane.

I wanted to head to Sabrina’s gym, but a passer-by said I had to discover how Mr. Giovanni got his hands on a Silph Scope Prototype. I trained up my pokemon a tad bit more, and then I went off.

I went into the Rocket Tower, and battled through the Rocket blocking a poster. When he went off, I quickly flipped the secret switch, and went to the underground hideout. I followed stairways A and B to go to the third sub-basement.

I went through the maze to stairway C. Then I battled the Rocket in the upper left corner to receive the key, and then went to upstairs to the first basement. I took the elevator down….

Chapter 14: Giovanni

I cleared out all the Team Rocket Grunts and got a PP-Up. Then I took all the valuable items, and finally went to face Giovanni. He threw out Onix.

“Onix, Rock Throw!”

“Gyarados dodge and use Hydro Pump!”

Now Giovanni threw out Rhyhorn.

“Rhyhorn, Horn Attack!”

“Gyarados dodge and use Hydro Pump!”

Lastly, out came Kangaskhan.

“Kangaskhan, Comet Punch!”

“Nidoking, Focus Blast!”

Giovanni sneered and walked away. “This is not the last time!”

I walked out with caution. Finally, I can go to Sabrina’s gym. Samantha breezed through Giovanni, but absolutely sucked at the Grunts.

“See you at the gym!” I challenged.

Chapter 15: Sabrina

I had to do a hectic ton of research on my phone to get into Sabrina’s proper gym. I took teleporter A, then the top left square at C, then the bottom left square at I, after that walked straight down to the square of M.

I reached the gym and then met Sabrina.

“Kadabra, use Psybeam!”

“Dodge it, Nidoking, and use Megahorn!”
Kadabra was knocked out. K.O’d.

“Mr. Mime, use Confusion!”

“Nidoking, hang in there!” I said as Nidoking took a hit.

“Mr. Mime, use Confusion again!”

“Nidoking, dodge and use Megahorn!”

Mr. Mime was K.O’d too!

“Venomoth, Stun Spore!”

“Pidgeot, dodge and use Hurricane!”
Last but not least….Alakazam.

Chapter 16: The Marsh Badge

“Alakazam, Psybeam!”

“Nidoking, use Megahorn!”

SMASH. The two powers collided together.

Both were K.O’d.

“Congratulations, young trainer! You got your Marsh Badge!” Sabrina said.

I thanked her and put it in my badge case. Samantha was having a hard time.

I laughed at how she struggled with Venusaur and Alakazam. I was watching from the side-lines. It sure was funny. After all, she’s my enemy.

So when Samantha came out sweating and panting, I laughed and said that she was a ‘sweaty-pants’, and she said it’s not funny.

But I still sniggered anyways. Samantha got so infuriated she said, “Fine! I show you what I’ve got with a battle!”

Chapter 17: Rival Battle!
“Charizard, Fire Blast!”

“Venusaur, Leech Seed!”

Venusaur survived on 1 HP.

“Charizard, Thunder Punch!”

Venusaur fainted. Nidoqueen came out.

“Nidoqueen, Surf!”

What the f**k? Nidoqueen can use Surf??!!!

“Nidoking, Earthquake!”

Okay. Nidoqueen K.O’d.

“Okay, I quit! I need to go, to heal!”

Yeah. Samantha=Coward.

I rolled my eyes and walked away towards Fuchsia City. A native said that I had to find out the secret of the Silph Co. Turns out; Samantha had already prepared and was racing towards the Silph Co.

By the time I finished healing up my pokemon, Samantha saved the Silph Co.

Chapter 18: The New Water-Type

Luckily, Samantha didn’t know that she missed a golden opportunity to get a well-deserved Lapras. I gave Gyarados to Professor Oak through teleportation, and then I quickly slipped into Silph Co. and took the Lapras.

I grinded long and hard as Lapras was at the low level of 15 and my others were 50 and above. So back to the Rock Tunnel on my Pidgeot, and grinding time here I come!
It took me about four months to grind up to the high level of 56. My Lapras was: Ice Beam, Sheer Cold, Surf and Hydro Pump. I had a good transportation and a nice offensive pokemon. Those four months were really worth it!

I approached Route 16. I had to face this Snorlax rage. I blew the flute and took down the Snorlax. I fought through the cyclists, and went to the brutal slope of Route 17.

Chapter 19: Fuchsia City

After beating the slope, I approached Route 18 to face the bird keeper trio. So after beating them with my trusty Lapras, I reached Fuchsia City.

But before fighting the gym, I approached the Safari Zone in hopes of getting my favourite bug type--Scyther.

After running around in the grass like a stupid idiot, I finally encountered a Scyther. I crossed my fingers and threw a Safari Ball. After 20 throws, on the 21st one I caught it.

I gave my Sandslash to Professor Oak and put my Scyther in my party. It was very high levelled, at the level of 63, tying with my Charizard and Pidgeot. It knew the moves: X-Scissor, Roost, Swords Dance and U-Turn.

After some grinding, I decided it was time to face Koga.

I stepped in, and the battle…began.

Chapter 20: Koga

“Koffing, Self-Destruct!”

“Dodge and use Earthquake, Nidoking!”

The next Koffing…

“Koffing, Smokescreen!”

“Nidoking, Earthquake!”

Then Muk…

“Muk, Acid Armour!”

“Earthquake, Nidoking!”

Lastly, Weezing, which was Koga’s Ace.

“Weezing, Tackle!”

“Nidoking, Focus Blast!”

I won my sixth badge!

Koga smiled and handed me the badge. I put it in my badge case. All my badges shined. I only had 2 badges left.

Suddenly, a mysterious old man approached me. What did he want?

Chapter 21: Mega Stones

“I’ve heard of Samantha. She’s always one step further than you. I gave her a special gift, but I have two for you.” The man said.

“Who are you?”

“I am your father’s father, if that even makes sense. Anyways, these are Mega Stones. They let your pokemon Mega evolve in battle. It will be a great help.” He said, handing over the Mega Stones.

“I’ve heard of them,” I said. “Thank you.”

My Grandfather in-law left. I sent out Charizard and Pidgeot. I attached two metal collars containing the stones, and I put two wristbands on my wrists.

“See you again, Koga. Bye, I’m heading to Route 12!” I said.

“Bye, young trainer.” Koga said and smiled.

6 down, 2 more to go! I better get going.

Chapter 22: Routes

I woke up the little Snorlax with my trusty Poke Flute and defeated it. Then I picked up a Hyper Potion. Then I defeated many fishermen. After that I battled through many bikers, Jr Trainers and many more.

Then I defeated the bird keepers in Route 14 and all the others in Route 15. This was great grinding!
I flew on my Pidgeot back to Pallet Town, and then surfed on my Lapras to Cinnabar Island. I really wanted to catch that Articuno in Seafoam Island, but I decided that will make the journey too easy. I wanted some challenge!
Once I defeated all the fishermen and reached Cinnabar Island, I climbed on to set my foot on…Route 21. After going through Route 21, I reached the heart of the island.

I walked the escaped creature’s back trail, and read some literature on the way. I also bought some potions at the Poke Mart.

Chapter 23: Mega Charizard X

To warm myself up for Blaine, I decided to battle Samantha, with only two pokemon. Samantha was sure she would win (?). So yeah, we’re going to fight.

“Charizard, Fire Blast!” I said as I pressed the mega stone and Charizard mega evolved into…Mega Charizard X!

“Mega Venusaur, Leech Seed!”

“Charizard, Flamethrower!”

Now out came…Raticate?

“Raticate, Swords Dance!”

“Mega Pidgeot, Feather Dance!”

“Raticate, use Hyper Fang!”

“M. Pidgeot, Hurricane!”

“Alright, you win. But not for long.” Samantha snickered.

I rolled my eyes for the third time and walked off to Blaine’s Gym.

Chapter 24: Blaine

I had to speed through many pokemon quiz questions (they were all easy), and then I could finally battle Blaine. We greeted each other, and then the battle began. I sent out Lapras, while Blaine sent out Growlithe.

“Lapras, Rain Dance!”

“Growlithe, Take Down!”

“Now Lapras, Hydro Pump!”

Growlithe went down with a bang. Now it was Ponyta’s turn.

“Ponyta, Fire Spin and surround Lapras with fire!”

“Lapras, Surf up to avoid the flames and crash down on Ponyta! Use full power!”

With full power, Lapras crashed down and knocked Ponyta into the wall. Rapidash came out.

“Rapidash, Fire Blast! If Lapras surfs up, aim at it precisely!”

“Lapras, duck under and use Hydro Pump to blast Rapidash afoot!”

“Rapidash, get up and use Stomp!”

“Lapras, slide under and use Hydro Pump again!”

Now out came Arcanine. Eek!

“Arcanine, show them who’s boss by using Take Down!”

“Now Lapras, use Surf to wet the floor and let Arcanine slip! Then crash down when it gets up to apply more pressure!”

Blaine was getting angrier and angrier by my annoying strategies and tricks. He thought, and then snapped his fingers.

“That’s it, Arcanine! Let Lapras make you slip!”

He’s going to smash down with Take Down, that’s for sure. I better foil his plans.

“Lapras, slip Arcanine!”

“Arcanine, now use Take Down!”

“Now Lapras, aim Hydro Pump at its belly!”

Chapter 25: The Volcano Badge

Hydro Pump landed and blasted Arcanine into the wall. Blaine looked on sadly and retrieved Arcanine into his pokeball. Then he turned around and smiled a small bit, and handed over the Volcano Badge. He walked away.

I surfed back to Fuchsia City and paddled south and west to Routes #19 and #20. Then I battled through trainers to reach the end of Route 20. I wonder where I went next….

Turns out my Lapras surfed back to Viridian City on its own will. It nudged me towards a gym locked up the last time I went here. Shrug. I had to battle Giovanni, the last gym leader, before proceeding to Victory Road and battling the unknown champion and the Elite 4.

“I have nothing to say to you. Let us just fight.” Giovanni said.

He sent out Dugtrio while I sent out Lapras (am I overusing it? It’s such a good pokemon!).

Chapter 26: The Earth Badge
“Dugtrio, Slash!”

“Lapras, use Rain Dance, and then use Hydro Pump!”

Dugtrio was out easily. What was Giovanni planning?

“Rhyhorn, Rock Blast!”

“Lapras, quick, slide underneath the rock and blast Rhyhorn afoot with Hydro Pump (I’m using this strategy too much)!”

“Now Rhyhorn, Take Down!”

“Lapras, surf up and smash down!”

Next it was another Rhyhorn?

“Rhyhorn, Rock Blast!”

I did the same strategy and out came little Nidoking.

“Nidoking, use Double Kick!”
“Quick Lapras, dodge and use Hydro Pump at Nidoking!”

Out came Nidoqueen. I did the same. Giovanni turned his back and sneered. He flicked the badge towards me and I caught it and fill the last spot in my badge case.

I said bye and found Samantha waiting outside. She had battled long ago and was waiting.

“What took you so long, SLOWPOKE?”

“I am not a pokemon! See you later, SLOWPOKE!”

“You…YOU, GET BACK HERE!” Samantha said.

We raced against each other to Route 23, the final route. I surfed easily through the route, while it took hours for Samantha to go over (by swimming).

I picked up a Full Restore before heading to Victory Road. Again, Samantha sped away, to avoid me calling her a slowpoke. Also, apparently she modified her team to be way better and up to my standard.

Team: Venusaur, Fearow, Nidoqueen, Slowbro, Rhydon and Vaporeon.

Chapter 27: Victory Road

I thought about my team versus hers and I still thought mine was better. Ah, well. Not every team is perfect.

Getting through Victory Road was hell. ABSOL-LUTE HELL!

Firstly, I had to ask Nidoking to use Focus Blast to shatter the rocks A THOUSAND TIMES.

Second, the Zubat encounters are just…ugh.

Anyways, before going out of Victory Road, I picked up another Full Restore for god’s sake, because the Elite 4 is damn hard, I tell you.

Anyways, I reached the Indigo Plateau. I stocked up on full restores and max potions, and healed up all my pokemon.

I took a deep breath, and then entered the first room. It was ice cold…I was going to fight Lorelei.

Chapter 28: Lorelei

“Let us begin!” Lorelei said.

I sent out Jolteon while Lorelei sent out her Dewgong.

“Dewgong, use Hail!”

“Now, Jolteon, jump up to avoid the hail and use Thunderbolt!”

“Dewgong, Ice Beam!”

“Jolteon, dodge it and use Discharge!”

Lorelei remained cool and threw out Cloyster.

“Okay, Cloyster, use Protect!”

“Jolteon, Thunder Wave!”

Cloyster became paralyzed.

“Cloyster, use Spikes!”

“Jolteon, Thunder!”

Now it was Slowbro.

“Slowbro, use Yawn!”
“Jolteon, avoid it and use Thunderbolt!”

Out came Jynx. I retrieved Jolteon and sent out Charizard.

“Jynx, Attract!”

“Charizard, AVOID IT QUICKLY, and use Fire Blast!”

Finally, Lapras!

“Jolteon, Thunder Wave!”

“Lapras, Confuse Ray!”

“Jolteon, dodge it and use Thunderbolt!”

“Lapras, consume your Sitrus Berry and then use Body Slam!”

“Jolteon, use Thunderbolt again!”
“Ah, young trainer. I know you are the one destined to be a champion.” Lorelei smiled.

I thanked her and proceeded to the next Elite 4 member, Bruno. He was a master fighting type trainer. I read all about him in the Fame Checker while waiting for my team to be healed.

Finally, I proceeded to defeat Bruno.

Chapter 29: Bruno

“Let the battle…BEGIN!” Bruno said.

I sent out Nidoking (Rock’s ground weakness) and he sent out his first Onix.

“Nidoking, Earthquake!”

“Onix, use Earthquake as well!”
Both took resisted damage, but with the added Rock type, Onix took more damage.

“Nidoking, use Earthquake again!”

“Onix, Iron Tail!”

I did the same with the next Onix and then out came Hitmonchan.

“Hitmonchan, use Sky Uppercut!”
“Mega Pidgeot, use Feather Dance!”

“Now Hitmonchan, Rock Tomb!”

“Dodge it and use Hurricane!”
It’s super effective!
“Hitmonchan, use Rock Tomb with all your might!”

“Pidgeot, avoid it and use Hurricane again!”

Next it’s Hitmonlee.

“Hitmonlee, Mega Kick!”

“Pidgeot, Hurricane full power!”

Lastly, Bruno’s ace, Machamp (ate his Sitrus berry earlier) came out with a bit of Hp loss.

“Pidgeot, Hurricane!”
I wiped out Machamp. Yay!
