Pokearrow: Eternal

by Mechanist Gamma

Mechanist Gamma Grass Arrow challenges his third Gym Leader with Decidueye by his side, but will Zubatman prove to be too much for him?
“Decidueye, Spirit Shackle!”
As the avian Pokemon soared in unseen, it notched an arrow and fired, locking the Gliscor to the ground. The Pokemon howled as Decidueye descended upon it, a powerful Leaf Blade attack taking it out.
“You’ve certainly proven yourself so far.” the enigmatic masked trainer said on the other side. “But do you really have what it takes to be a vigilante and protect the America region?”
“I can handle it. I think I’ve shown you that Decidueye and I can handle anything!” the hooded trainer replied with a smile. “Star City has its future gym leader - Grass Arrow - prepared to take on any challenge!”
It was then that Decidueye was hit in the back by two sharp fangs.
“Decidueye!” Grass Arrow explained, going to catch his weakened Pokemon.
“Your partner is now poisoned.” the cowled trainer explained. “That is the work of my Pokemon partner. Can you cure it? Any good vigilante should always have the right equipment. Namely, an antidote.”
Grass Arrow flinched. He hadn’t thought of that.
“C’mon, Grass Arrow! You can do it!” Naomi shouted from the side. Her Litten was at her side, mewling along with her. “Decidueye! Pull through! You can still fight!”
Decidueye slowly got up, notching an arrow.
“Can you still fight?” Grass Arrow asked. His partner nodded. “Alright, then! We’ll keep on going! Zubatman! We WILL defeat you!”
“You’ll have to find my partner first.” Zubatman chuckled. “Stealth is the art of the trainers of Gotham City. As the Gym Leader, I am its master. And therefore, so is my partner Pokemon.”
“He can’t have gone far…” Grass Arrow reasoned. “Zubatman’s Pokemon - the one that poisoned Decidueye - must still be in the area. Otherwise he would have fled, thus giving me an automatic victory. So then… we just have to pelt the forest with arrows, and we’ll find him!”
Grass Arrow then remembered something. He reached back into his pocket, taking out something he had been given a while back. It was a glowing dark green crystal… the Decidium Z.

“Congratulations on your victory!” Black Noibat said with a smile, shaking Grass Arrow’s hand. “That Decidueye of yours is quite the fighter. In fact, I think such a fantastic performance deserves a little gift.”
As the Arrow opened his hands, he saw that Black Noibat had placed a glowing green gem in it. It looked similar to the stone he had seen others use.
“Is this a Z-Stone?” Grass Arrow asked.
“Indeed it is.” the songstress said, her Noibat landing on her shoulder. “Using this Z-Stone, you and your Decidueye can now use the Z-Move of Sinister Arrow Raid! If your bond is strong enough, that is.”

Grass Arrow clutched the stone. Leaning forwards, he took his bow off of his back. Gripping it tightly, he locked the Z-Stone into the side. Focusing his energy, he pulled back on the bow - creating an arrow from his own energy - and shot it directly into Decidueye.
“Decidueye, chase him out of the forest! SINISTER ARROW RAID!” Grass Arrow commanded, raising his arm to the sky. Decidueye flew straight up into the air, several arrows following it. It then turned around and landed in the forest, hundreds of arrows pelting the woods as it landed. The arrows avoided exclusively Grass Arrow and Zubatman, striking the rest of the area. A Crobat flew out quickly, three arrows lodged in it.
“You can’t escape anymore!” Grass Arrow smiled. “Decidueye, let’s finish this! LEAF BLADE!”
Decidueye took flight, soaring towards the Crobat at lightning-fast speeds. It spun and slashed straight into it, taking out the Crobat.
“Crobat…!” Zubatman said with shock, his eyes opening wide. The vigilante then turned away as Decidueye landed.
“They did it!” Naomi shouted happily, her and Litten cheering.
“Decidueye, you did great.” Grass Arrow said, running over to his Pokemon. With a smile, Decidueye passed out from the poison.
“...it seems you really do have what it takes.” Zubatman stated. “It seems I underestimated you, Grass Arrow.” Zubatman took something out from inside of his cape, tossing it to Grass Arrow. The archer caught it. “That is the Zubatarang. It is the Gotham City badge. Gain the other seven badges, you will gain access to the Justice League.”
“I know. I’ve already got two.” Grass Arrow replied with a smile. “I got Black Noibat’s Sonic Badge and Hourman’s Hourglass Badge. Only five more to go.”
“Where are you headed next?” Zubatman asked.
“I was thinking Metropolis City. I’ve heard the Gym Leader there is really tou-”
Grass Arrow didn’t get to finish his sentence before a loud thud was heard. As Grass Arrow returned his trusted Pokemon to its Pokeball, he saw a ship land in front of him. As the side door opened, five goons jumped out.
“Team Vertigo.” Grass Arrow snarled.
“You know them?”
“They’re rascals, vandals and thieves from Star City. I thought I already dealt with them.”
“Far from it.” a man chuckled aboard the ship. The grunts stepped out of the way to make room for the man stepping towards them.
“Clock King!” both Zubatman and Grass Arrow shouted simultaneously.
“Guilty as charged.” the villain said. “It is I, Clock King. I’m running with Team Vertigo now, just so you know.”
“What’s your game, Clock King?” Zubatman asked in his gravelly voice. “Team Vertigo isn’t going to help you catch Celebi, much less Dialga.”
“And you see, that’s where you’re wrong.” Clock King replied. “Team Vertigo gives me resources in exchange for my aid in spreading their influence.”
“Despicable scum.” Zubatman jutted in. “Do you know why Crobat is my partner? It’s because like me, it was lost and abandoned… friend-less… parent-less… and with a burning drive to fight back against all the unjust trainers in the world. Like you.”
Naomi healed Decidueye, and the Pokemon left its Pokeball, notching an arrow.
“Ah, while we’re sharing stories, I may as well share mine.” Grass Arrow stated. “Decidueye is my partner and has been for five years. When I first washed up on that deserted island, I thought I was going to die. But a Rowlet helped me out by showing me food, a fresh water source, and good shelter. From then on, Rowlet and I decided we’d always have each other’s backs. I trust Decidueye, and have come this far with it by my side!”
“Fools. Destroy these vigilantes!” Clock King ordered, and the grunts sent out their Pokemon. Crobat and Decidueye soared at the enemy Pokemon, with Zubatman and Grass Arrow steeling themselves.
“Bring it on!”

APRIL FOOLS, EVERYONE!
So I wanted to do something fun for April Fools, and I've been playing Pokken a lot lately. I main Decidueye, by the way. So since I write a lot of Green Arrow: Eternal, I had a thought. What if Green Arrow was a Pokemon trainer, and had a Decidueye for a partner? That led me to think what if DC: Eternal had Pokemon? So I made this because why not. Also, for those confused, a character list below...
Grass Arrow = Green Arrow
Zubatman = Batman
Black Noibat = Black Canary
Hourman = Hourman
Team Vertigo = Vertigo Drug Syndicate
Clock King = Clock King
So yeah. I'll see you folks in a week or so for the next part of Green Arrow: Eternal as well as the next installment of @Mockingchu's Batman: Eternal! Don't forget to join the notif squad to get updated!
