Along Friedrich's trip from The National Park he found himself at a fork in the road. Not sure where to head Friedrich stood there staring at the sign contemplating whether or not he wanted to head straight or head right. As time passed people walked past the strange boy ,and eventually he smirked as he decided he wanted to head straight. Something he had already thought of a few minutes ago ,but for some reason just didn't have enough motive to choose one path over the other. After careful decision it was actually just him muttering to himself, "eeny, meeny, miney ,and mo before ultimately heading straight. The path to Ecruteak City was fairly beautiful with leaves everywhere. A lady with a ponyta even challenged him to a battle. If was a battle between her Ponyta ,and Friedrich's porygon Gitchi. The match ended fairly quickly after a couple well placed psybeams. Despite Gitchi's success in the match it still took a take-down attack as well as a double kick. No doubt Friedrich would need to visit Nurse Joy.
As Soon as Friedrich had entered the town everything seemed normal at least. Well normal considering he had never been to Ectuteak City thus had no past experiences to compare them to. He smiled before letting out a chuckle as he pointed out the pokécenter, "There it is Aloi! That way!" Friedrich said excitedly, "Dit dit ditto!" Aloi cheered. Friedrich made his way to the pokécenter ,and as he arrived nurse joy happily healed his pokémon, "Thankyou have a nice day" She said. Friedrich smiled and waved thanking her before leaving. As he stepped out the door he saw the most frightening ghost pokémon he had ever seen. It was pale with many wrinkles ,and had a cold cruel stare. No doubt this pokémon must have been ghost/dark ,and after a minute of shock and horror he realized its probably someone's granma. No. Not a pokémon. Just an old lady. "Scuse me young man" She said politely. Despite this however red flags were still popping up in Friedrich's head ,and his spine began tingling, "Okay!" He said before running off. The old woman looked at him before dismissing his rude ignorant behavior ,and heading inside.
Friedrich had ran at least two blocks before hiding behind a building ,and looking to see if she was nearby. During that time the old woman had simply walked inside the pokémon leaving an ignorant Friedrich to assume she vanished and was some sort of vengeful evil spirit. Possibly an evil dangerous pokémon. "Scuse me young man. You look like you seen a ghost. You aren't lost by any chance are you?" A man's voice emerged. Friedrich turned to realize he was standing in front of the Ecruteak CIty gym ,and the man who spoke to him was none other than Morty the gym leader himself, "uuuuuuuuhhhh....ummmm. No" Friedrich said. "No? Doesn't look like you know where your going" Morty said. "yeah uh... I couldn't help but to get distracted by... That shiny gengar over there!!" Friedrich said, "Where?!?!... I don't see it" Morty said looking around. Friedrich attempted to run away ,but was too loud in his running to actually sneak away, "Real nasty trick there kid. Could use some work. If you wanted to leave you could have simply said 'gotta go' or something. Your definitely lost. I'm going to show you around town. After that trick no questioning it" Morty said.
Friedrich needed an escape plan ,but had none since any plan that popped in his head would no doubt fail miserably. As they walked down the street they stopped in front of an old burned down building, "This is the old bell tower. Long ago this tower burned ,and three dog pokémon inside cried out ,and as they died in that tower, Ho oh felt grave sorrow for the three pokémon ,and brought them back to life. Thus began the legend of Suicune, Raikou ,and Entei. Legend says that these three pokémon watch over the land protecting the pokémon as a way of thanking Ho oh all these years later" Morty said. As they continued the reached a smaller structure, "This building leads to a long winding path which will take you to the new bell tower. They say from time to time Ho oh visits the place ,but since most people are not permitted to visit they have no way of knowing whether or not that is truth or not" Morty said.
They later stopped in front of another building, "This is the Kimono dance theater. Go on. Head inside. You'll like it I'm sure" Morty said. Friedrich reluctantly headed in to which he saw 8 girls dancing on a large stage and various people watching. Morty walked in, "take a seat" He said walking over to a vacant seat in the front. Friedrich sat by him. He looked to his other side and saw an old man in a brown suit. By his side was a happy psyduck dancing along to the performance in an attempt to emulate it. It wasn't quite right ,but it was super adorable none the less. Friedrich looked in front of him to see the performance. Each of the dancers had an evolved form of eevee. Even their pokémon danced within rhythm to the beat. As graceful as they were psyduck still looked cuter. Friedrich grinned at psyduck before watching the performance.
As the performance continued Friedrich couldn't help ,but feel the presence of an angry hostile spirit of sorts. "morty turned his head with shock, "Grandma! It's so good to see you!" Morty said. Friedrich turned his head expecting to see a sweet old lady only to be surprised and mortified to see the ghostly aperision. The old lady came over real friendly like however Friedrich couldn't help ,but see her worn tired expression and think ghost, "Granma?!" Friedrich said surprised. "Yes. that's right" Morty said. "Hello again young man" The old lady said. "you two already met?" Morty asked. "Outside the pokécenter. Such a nice young man" she said. Friedrich felt somewhat guilty for thinking she was an undead revenge seeking poltergeist. After the performance ended they talked for a bit ,and even laughed over Friedrich's predicament. Morty eventually headed back to his gym, His grandmother headed home ,and Friedrich would head west to continue his adventure. Friedrich laughed looking back at the situation as he headed to his next destination. "To Olivine City!" Friedrich said.
