So...this totally isn't a few days past relevancy.
Anyways, with Gen 4 Pokemon now out on Pokemon GO I decided to draw the three team leaders with the starters. I decided not to give the leaders Pokemon relative to their types (Piplup to Blanche, Chimchar to Candela, and shoving Turtwig on Spark) and instead gave them the starters that would better suite their personalities...or at least what the fans have decided their personalities would be like based on context clues and head-cannons.
I drew Spark with Chimchar because Chimchars a silly, free-spirited monkey that I thought would fit with Sparks more laid-back nature. I decided Piplup should go with Candela simply because I remember Piplup being a real passionate "go getter/ bold and boisterous" type which suited Candela, plus they'd have the whole Water/Fire dynamic going on. As for Turtwig, I'll be honesty, while Torterra might suite them more serious and calculating Blanche a bit, Turtwig...not so much. Then I had the idea of placing a smiling Turtwig on Blanche's head with her sullenly patting it, so I went with that. I hadn't really drawn the Team Leaders before, so that was fun to do.
Over-all the picture came out...O.K, I can see certain area's where I clearly rushed it a bit because I wanted to get it done in time to still be semi-relevant (I was doing it on and off over the past week). It doesn't look bad but I would have liked it to come out a bit better, oh well...
Pokemon & Pokemon GO belongs to Nintendo, Game Freak, and Niantic...or something along those lines.
