Brain Screams: I Don' Wanna

by The Quiet Zubat

The Quiet Zubat Assisting with things I have a philosophical quarrel with makes me grumpy.
When work gets short handed, I sometimes get called to do things that weren't in my job description. What do I do when everyone else is busy and the owner asks me directly to help with the one aspect of the business that I despise? Inner me says I am uncomfortable with assisting for this procedure, I'm sorry but you'll have to wait for someone else to be available. Real me says, "Yeah, sure, of course, no problem." In truth I am embarrassed to express my true opinions because sh*t-talking runs rampant in my workplace and my opinion is the kind of thing my coworkers would ridicule mercilessly. Then I go home and hate myself for not having the courage to stand behind my opinions. I feel disgusting.
