Heroes of Venetia: The Guardian of Doom: Heroes of Venetia: The Guardian of Doom: Chapter one: Flying Tomato Field Day! Enter Voria!

by Cmeriwether

Cmeriwether The story opens with an unfriendly encounter between the one group of protagonists and a local lord's son, and is
In the north of Rotaria, a young brown haired, orange eyed girl of a voluptuous figure, wearing leather battle armor, it was revealing of her naturally large chest, mostly in the cleavage area, traveling boots, and a fur cloak wielding a bow, firing off several arrows at a large man, taking him down. At that moment two other men h)ad taken her arms as a fourth appeared. The fourth had a sword aimed at her throat.

"Well, well, well, what do we have here?" The fourth living man responded with malice, "A girl like you…"

"Idiot." A different man snarled.

A man, gold hair and Silver eyes, appeared behind the fourth man, he wore very decorated plate armor, and a red cloak, picked up the man threatening the girl by the neck, and threw him across town. The two men let go of her and attempted to attack him, both lost their heads for that. A red haired, orange eyed girl with a similar build to the brown haired girl walked up to the girl.

"Jade, what happened?" The girl asked.

"Jade Johnson…"

The gold haired man immediately turned ready to attack.

"Sorry, Negation!" The voice yelled.

The gold haired man went through the spell unfazed, he then pulled his power into a Greatsword and swung.

"How didn't it work!?"

"You picked the wrong party to mess with!" The man sneered, glowing bright white.

"Grace, keep Cornelius in check." Jade told the girl.

"Understood." Grace responded as she went to hug the man named Cornelius.

"Please, don't unleash your power," Grace whispered, "It would wipe out us with it."

Grace was pressing into him, trying to stop him. A golden glow that had been around him when he went for the attack had stopped, making him return to normal.

"I want you," The red cloaked man, Cornelius, pointed to the man on the ground, ready to bolt, "To never show your face in the Eastern Tribelands again."

The man bolted for the hills, scared out of his wits. Cornelius suddenly felt a person in his back, and realized that Grace had hugged him in an attempt to stop him.

"I think I went overboard again!" Cornelius groaned.

Grace suddenly grabbed his hand as Jade kept with him, the Two girls walked down with him to the Inn, and they paid.

"Time to get some rest," Cornelius told the girls.

Jade, who had changed out of her armor and into some traveling clothes, had taken the other bed, as Grace, who stripped down to her underwear, and put on traveling clothes, laid down next to Cornelius, who was trying to sleep. She cuddled into Cornelius, so that he felt her heartbeat, and her large chest, but more the heartbeat. To him, the girl's heartbeat was rather soothing, so he wouldn't activate his power. Jade had known that Cornelius had feelings for Grace, and the fact they were mutual as well. The small group slept peacefully, not knowing that the young man in the group was in fact, a minor god, specifically Claudius, minor god of some warriors.

------------------------------------------------------------

The next morning, Cornelius woke up with Grace still asleep, cuddling into his arm. He laid there until a couple of guards appeared.

"Cornelius, what happened between you and the lord's son?"

"Well, he had been after Jade and Grace, one of his bodyguards attacked Jade, which caused her to defend herself, killing the guard, he and his guards caught up to her until Grace and I intervened to protect her from him, may have gotten a bit carried away." Cornelius explained, "Grace calmed me down, we then had to go to an inn due to the city curfew."

"I suggest you leave this town and never return, otherwise, the ranger faces death in gladiator pits."

"Grace, wake up, we have to go." Cornelius whispered.

Grace had woken up and immediately pulled up the covers. The guards left the room and The girls got their stuff together, heading out of the inn and towards the town gate. Grace kept close, not very comfortable with the crowd looking at them, and the lord's son at the gate.

"Cornelius, you will be ended…"

A blue robed man appeared on the wall, announcing, "These three are under my protection, anyone who threatens them, threatens the King of Rotaria!"

"Who in the ribbiting are you!?"

"Archmage of Rotaria, Jared Johnson." The robed man responded.

"How the ribbiting did you enrage the Archmage to the point he showed up here!?"

"We should get going, before Jade ends up in the Gladiator Pits." Cornelius whispered to Grace.

The three prepared to leave when the lord's son stopped them.

"Sorry, change of plans, you're all to die here," the lord's son walked up to Grace, whispering.

Grace shuddered at the thought, and prepared to draw her daggers, when the lord's son disarmed her, held both hands behind her back with one hand and was nearing her shoulder with the other, intending to break it. At that moment, his hand nearing her shoulder was chopped off, as she kicked him in the stomach. He let go with the other, but not before grabbing her red hair, and pulled her back, turning her around as he prepared to break her shoulder, only to take a sword to the stomach, the sword stopped just short of Grace. The sword was removed, as he turned to cast a spell, but was stopped by Grace again, and then had an arrow shot through his cheeks. He pulled it out and laughed, it had regenerated, but the stomach wound had not.

"Idiot, you're sure to die now!"

"Enough!" A regal voice announced, "Edgard Hundrson, what the hell were you doing attempting to end the second daughter of the Eastern Tribelands chieftain?"

"She killed three of my guards…"

"In self defense." Cornelius responded.

"Why the hell did the King show up!?"

"Edgard, I happened to be in the area." The king answered, "Attempted assault on a Chieftain's daughter, then attempted assault towards an Archmage… So, Edgard Hundrson, you are sentenced to a hundred years' sealing."

"Sir, the tomato harvest is flying away!"

"Oh crap!" Edgard and the king both yelled, "It's the Flying Tomato Field Day!"

At that moment, winged Tomatoes started flying from the east, where fields of them suddenly sprouted wings, and started flying away.

"The hunting fest has started, you have three hours to take down as many tomatoes as you can, tomatoes are worth one point, green ones, five points, and this year, golden tomatoes were sprouting on a few of the plants, and they are worth fifty points!"

At that point Jade had shot down two golden tomatoes and six green ones.

"And Jade Johnson, the lady who won the last three of these events, is already up 130 on everyone else!"

The rest of the party was hunting tomatoes that were flying through the sky, according to the announcement board, at one hour in, Jade was up 250 on the next three, that were around 80 points each.

At the end of the event, Grace actually won due to a last minute Dagger throw that took down four Golds and two greens.

"The Champion of the Flying Tomato Field Day is Grace Johnson!"

Grace walked up to a podium and the announcer gave her a small vial.

"This is a vial of Synonymous Duck Tears, it can incur serious effects."

Grace walked back to Cornelius and Jade, taking Cornelius's hand as the party headed for camp. At the Tribelands camp, their brother James had just gotten his Adventurer's Spark. Jade picked up a book about the subject.

'When a child with adventuring potential faces a dangerous situation, their Adventurer's Spark appears, which is a spark that reveals their magical abilities to them, and reveals their element. The young child is now ready to be trained to be an adventurer after this event. Please note that they won't adventure until they have control of their Adventurer's Spark.'

"You're on your way to adventuring much like us or Jared." Jade told her next brother in line, James.

"Thank you."

At that point, the food is served, and the group let their familiar out. The short cat curled up near Grace, sleepily, as Cornelius walked over with food for him, Jade and Grace. The three ate their food. After their food, Grace went to get changed, Cornelius went into his tent, and went to sleep.

-------

A young man, no older than Jade or Grace, with crow colored hair and scarlet eyes, wearing clothes more commonly seen on a noble of a minor city. Black chain could be seen, the clothing across a muscular frame, and A sword could be seen hanging on his back, walking towards the village that Cornelius, Grace and Jade were staying in.

"I'm looking for some lodging for the night, if you have any to spare."

A giant figure, easily over a foot taller than the man in front of him, and similar proportional musculature to him as well. The man wore a fur cloak and several other items, as well as a ring. He looked down.

"I have plenty to spare, I'll lead." The giant man responded, "I was wondering, what was your name?"

"Voria Dragonwing." The young man responded.

"I am Donald Johnson, Eastern Tribelands Chieftain." The older one responded.

The two walked further into the village. They were discussing stuff when he walked back to a set of tents, pointing out a tent near the back of a cluster around twenty strong. At that moment, Jade had woken up due to needing to make sure things were ready for tomorrow's trip to Flosig, and needed to discuss some things with her father when she spotted him and another man about her age.

"H-hi!" The young man responded, taken by the beauty of the Girl talking to Donald.

"Sweetie, what brings you up at this hour?" The older man responded, genuinely curious.

"I was making some final preparations for tomorrow's trip to Flosig, and I looked over the plans, and we will need some help." Jade was talking with the older man.

"Voria, I think you should help, I'm needed in the village… Huh?" The Chieftain responded, "Hey, you okay?"

The Chieftain was waving his hand in front of Voria's face. Voria snapped out of his trance.

"I'm fine!" Voria responded and then thought, 'Who is this beautiful girl?'

"I was saying that my daughter Jade needs help with her, my second daughter grace, and Cornelius, a boy taken in by the village, for a trip to Flosig in the morning, I'll let Jade explain."

"We were hired by a Farming clan in the north of Flosig about a group of thirty odd skeletons near a farm, and the skeletons would steal pigs every night, we were tasked with watching the pigs, and hopefully finding the skeletons' hideout." Jade explained about their trip.

"I'd be glad to help!" Voria responded, "Also, what's your name, miss?"

"Jade, sir," Jade gave a playful wink, she had to admit, this boy was cute, "and yours?"

"Voria," Voria responded.

The two would go on for most of the night talking, at that point two boys from the village looked at Voria with disdain. They would have made an attack on Voria, but they suddenly bumped heads and fell on the ground. The thuds startled Jade and she gave Voria a look that meant it's getting late.

"Hey, Jade!" A Familiar voice called.

"Grace?" Jade asked.

The red haired girl saw her sister and Voria, it seemed like they were talking before she got there.

------

One Half Elf mage had been studying in a library in the capital of Nil. He put his book away, and went to the market place in hopes of finding something to eat. He noticed a figure and a smaller figure, the Smaller figure rather annoyed at the bigger figure.

"Master Brio, please calm down." The smaller figure called out.

Vayu walked up to the guy and his Familiar, as Vayu heard a hoot from his shoulder.

"Take a look."

Vayu had called his owl to look around the area and see if any damage had occurred. The bird was nearly knocked out of the sky by flying objects, but soldiered on, giving a final report when it landed.

"I understand." Vayu was thinking on how he would deal with this situation.

The bigger of the two figures walked over with the small figure. The smaller figure looked at the wizard, and his owl.

"Sorry about Master Brio, he is known to get like this." The small bipedal wingless dragon like creature explained, "We're lost, and no idea which kingdom We're in?"

"You are in the City of Emeringstall, the Capital of The Kingdom of Nil." Vayu responded.

"Master Brio, we're in Nil." The kobold explained to his master.

"WHAT!?" Brio roared, "WE'RE SUPPOSED TO BE IN FORMID!!"

"Calm down," Vayu responded, "I think we can help."

Brio and his Familiar turned their heads at this.

"We're in Nil, we need to be in Formid in a week." The kobold explained.

"We need to get moving," Vayu responded.

The mage and fighter headed towards the Library that Vayu had been studying in.

"Stay here, I need to get my stuff."

Vayu entered the library and grabbed a satchel containing some scrolls and a book, amongst other things. He got back and the two headed off, as Vayu was giving directions.
