I've seen a lot of these over the site, and I've been counting down the days until I could post one of my own. Here it is. November 15th! And to think I almost missed it...
Where to begin? Sorry, dumb question. I start at the beginning.
I found this site like a lot of other people here. I was on a Pokemon "spree"- watching anything and everything related to Pokecharms. I saw a Trainer Card Video. And wound up here.
Okay. So I make the Trainer Cards. Sweet. Done deal.
I thought it was. Until I got likes on my cards. I realized there was a community here. Not just a Trainer Card template. I tested the waters. I liked a few statuses on the people who had liked me card's posts. I think that's grammatically correct (not 100% sure). I went deeper. And deeper.
I joined my first RP. My first one in memory was a Johto Region RP. Fan-fricking-tastic. Only a few have ever lived up to that primary experience.
JOHTO JOURNEYS
You have no idea how many pages I had to click through to find it. Worth it. Looking back, I wasn't fantastic at RPing. I auto'd a few times, even though I read the rules religiously. Anyhow, the RP was made by @Cloudswift. They weren't too terribly involved with what I did though. The real champ was @OmnipotentOnion, who somehow put up with all my n00biness. Thanks. Honestly, you helped me stick around through that first phase on this site.
I continued RPing after Johto Journeys died down. Nothing could live up to the excitement of that RP that lasted just over a month. Not even that long!
I tried a number of things. Creating my own RP about superheroes. That was pretty fun. I drove it to ruin.
Whoops.
In this interim between stellar RPs, I still bonded with people. @Kragn, primarily. But they're gone. Just tagging them in case they make their grand return. Also @Shrine. But they also left in a fit of rage, it seems.
What struck me, and still shocks me, is how this site maintains such a positive energy and great community. I mean, people fade into oblivion every day. One day, I'm carrying on a conversation with several users. The next day, there's only two left. It's almost a strange, dumbed-down reflection of life.
In life, you'll meet people. They'll influence you in ways you can't even understand. One day, they're gone. Not necessarily dead, just out of reach. Take, for example, graduation. Gah, I am not looking forward to that. I'm not a senior, but a lot of close friends are. After they move on, what then? Luckily, I have social media, which will work for a little while. But then they grow up, gain new friends, and gradually forget about me. So we have to treasure what time we do have. The same is true of this website. I could be tight-knit with a group of friends. Then, poof. Vanished.
Done with the weird metaphors.
MOVING ON!
My next big "landmark" on this site is Pruie. Goddamn Pruie.
Started in July of 2017, this RP is still. Not. Finished. It was all over the place. Crazy, edgy arcs. Crazy, wacky powers. But it was a blast. All of it. It drew me into this site more than ever before.
@LittleGreenBean @ScorchPlayz @Stargrounds @Dapper_Cat (who is missing as well) @fasttypingyay (also dead)
You all know what I'm talking about. If you're ever really bored, go read it.
Also, guys, we really need to draw this thing to a close. Just somebody post.
Pruie
Lastly, I have to mention the ETERNAL UNIVERSE. Not a plug. Just a valid piece of my history on this site. And also a plug. Go read my other stories too. Please.
BATMAN: ETERNAL
Also, there are links to the other author's stories on my episodes.
Basically, the Eternal Universe was an idea I had that hadn't (in my knowledge) been attempted on this site. A shared universe. I used the DC characters so I had something of a base to go off of, but it's been a lot of work. Hell, I just recently hit a writing slump. But the other authors have worked so hard to make it what it is today. A fully realized continuity, separate from mainstream DC Universe. I'm so proud of all of the authors.
@Eeveechu151 @Generation Sect @HydreigonBorn37 @What Did You Do To Snoke? @Ry_Burst (at least, he was planning on joining before he left).
Look at that stellar group of writers.
Read their stuff. It's amazing!
Lastly, I'd just like to tag some other friends on this site.
@TycoonMaster309 @Salted_Apples @AuraVolt97 (though we haven't talked in forever!) @Excalibur Queen (again, haven't talked in a long time, but you were something of a role model early on in our superhero RP) @UniverSoul @Mystic Zander (same deal with Excalibur Queen, you were someone to look up to)
You all have given me a reason to stay here for a whole... two years. In the grand scheme of things, that's not too long. A solid half of my life (I kid, I kid). But it's still something. I'm proud of this site. Crazy and proud.
Here's to a solid two more.
Hopefully even more. Than two. Because that's not a whole bunch overall.
[Just a little end note, the staff here don't get enough love. I didn't have a natural place to insert a little thank-you to the admins, so I'm putting it here. You guys devote so much of your time to keeping this site in great shape. And you get a lot of hate response. Especially you, StellarWind. You may seem menacing, slicing n00bs and all, but it's all to keep this site from being overrun by said n00bs. Not gonna tag any of you because you have far more important things. But for real, thank you all.]
