⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⌈ Evangeline uses Kaiyo mainly for his special stats. She especially uses him against rock type Pokémon, who usually have a low special defense, so he thrives in getting rid of rock Pokémon. She also uses him for defense. His steel type is very useful being resistant to a lot of things. Not only that but Empoleons have a naturally high special defense stat, which makes him a hard target to take down. ⌋

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⌈ Kaiyo is Evangeline’s starter Pokémon and most loyal Pokémon to her. At first he thought she was creepy, but eventually she earned his respect through her patience and attempts to understand him. She was aware that he didn’t like her vibe, but instead of forcing him to like her, she just did everything she can to make the Piplup happy. Unlike most trainers, she didn’t use him for battle right away, and instead did various bonding activities to earn his liking. She played with him, let him wander wherever he wanted to go, picked berries for him, and even cut the berries into interesting shapes to keep his interest. Eventually, young Kaiyo would like the presence of his new trainer and has been growing his loyalty ever since. With her continuous acts of pure love, he of course succumbed to it and gained a strong desire to return the love she gave to him. He now does everything in his power to satisfy his trainer, whether it be to do well in a battle, or being a nice companion to have around during times of relaxation. ⌋

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⌈ Evangeline would most likely use Suta in a multi-battle; like doubles, triples, and rotation battles. Evangeline knows that Suta can’t do well in a single battle because of her lack of defenses. She needs to be protected by a teammate in order to excel. Suta’s very high attack stat, can cause a severe amount of damage to the opponent. Suta is also used to cause confusion to the opponent through the move Swagger. Evangeline would especially use this move for Pokémon that are being too physical, taking note that the Pokémon may have a high physical attack stat. She would take advantage by using Swagger, raising their attack stat, but making them confused. If they hit themselves, it can deal a lot of damage. ⌋

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⌈ Suta was the very first Pokémon that Evangeline caught. As a young Shinx, Suta was very playful and acted like a cuddly kitten towards her trainer. The more older Suta got, the more she became a quiet Pokémon. There really isn’t a reason for her slow descent into silence and reservation. No one really conditioned her to have that behavior, she wasn’t really mistreated in a way. Evangeline figures it’s because of a mix of maturity and lack of empathy. She noticed as Suta grew older she would socialize with others less. Somehow, she just didn’t like to communicate with others with words specifically, she figured that actions are better than just saying you’ll do something. She’d rather be a careful observer and do things accordingly. The lack of empathy is because she doesn’t want to feel guilty in anything she does. ⌋

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⌈ Despite his appearance, Hyoga is actually pretty bulky. His high defense stat combined with the held item, Assault Vest, boosts his special defense by 50%, making his defenses impressive. However, he is still an ice type, so Evangeline is still careful about using Hyoga. He is mostly used in multi battles, having a couple of moves that can hit multiple targets. His high special attack stat can come in handy for dealing with plenty of Pokémon weakness to ice. He also knows Shadow Ball, which can serve as an element of surprise, and adds more coverage for his offense. ⌋

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⌈ Evangeline met Hyoga as an Eevee in Hearthome City. He already had a trainer, named Eliza. She wanted him to evolve into a Sylveon, but he didn't want to. It only started to get bad when she would force him to evolve, making him run away from her plenty of times. In comes Evangeline, seeing this poor little Eevee lonely on the street. Of course she naturally tried to comfort the Eevee by offering a place to hide from his trainer and playing with him with her other Pokémon. She quickly figures out that Eevee is unhappy because of the trainer that tried to take him home. On multiple occasions, Hyoga would run away from his trainer just to play with Evangeline again. She figured that it’d be better if Hyoga stayed with her, rather than this trainer he kept running away from. She realized that Hyoga just didn’t know what he wanted to evolve into. He wanted the time to think about it first rather than just jumping into an evolution and regretting it. Eventually, she convinced his original trainer to give him to her by guilt tripping the hell out them. She accepts and now Hyoga is free to choose whatever he wanted to evolve into. ⌋

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⌈ Evangeline rarely uses Kroryu in a single battle and would mostly use him in multi battles. Although he is way larger than the average Tropius, standing up to be about 12 feet tall (3 meters), he is stronger than other Tropius’ with his size alone. But Kroryu is still frail compared to the rest of her team, so she makes sure he is properly protected by his other teammates. Some strategies that Evangeline uses is taking advantage of Kroryu’s HP stat. By using leech seed, he can be difficult to take down with him healing a bit every other turn and making the opponent lose health slowly. She also taught him sunny day, so he can sweep Pokémon faster since solar beam does not need to charge up under a harsh sunlight. ⌋

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⌈ Kroryu’s mother died giving birth to him, since he was born with a genetic mutation that causes him to grow at an alarming rate and up to a very large scale. His unnaturally large size attracted many visitors to the Great Marsh in Pastoria City, most of them attempting to capture him. Kroryu though, didn’t want to have a trainer, so he kept escaping everytime. He didn’t really like battling much, he was scared of his own size and would be horrified over the thought of not being able to control his own power. Kroryu would often try to hide deep into the marsh, but of course, being almost 12 ft. tall doesn’t really make him a good player in hide and seek. It was until Evangeline heard about the oversized Tropius that Kroryu was finally met with kindness. She would see others try very hard to capture him and get frustrated over the fact that they can’t capture him. She would see Kroryu getting frustrated too, so Evangeline naturally went to the Tropius’s side, protecting him from humans that wanted to selfishly capture him. Her generosity made Kroryu take a liking of Evangeline and eventually made him to decide that he wanted to be captured by Evangeline. Although Kroryu is a part of the team, Evangeline never used Kroryu in battle at first. She knew he was uncomfortable in that position, so she only kept him around as a pet at the time. She did start teaching him that he does have control over his power and made him practice his power until he was ready for battle. ⌋

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⌈ Kyokan is Evangeline go-to Pokémon in general. In a single battle, his steel typing and high defenses make him a tough Pokémon to take down. Not only that, but he can be a really hard hitter with his high attack stats and variety of moves. In a multi battle, he’s often used to protect any of his partners who are weak against ice types, using either iron head and brick break. His specialty is getting rid of psychic type Pokémon. Psychic types usually have low defenses, so Kyokan physical attacks can be a threat. ⌋

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⌈ Kyokan was the weakest Scyther in Route 210. Other Scythers would often pick fights with him, just because they knew they were going to win. The consistent abuse drove him to having a desire to get stronger, in order to be able to protect himself, and to prove to the others that he won’t stay weak forever. But everytime he would try to spare another Scyther, he would lose and be so frustrated over the loss he can’t find reasons as to why he lost. While taking a stroll in this route, Evangeline witnessed one of the fights that Kyokan was in. He lost of course, but this time Evangeline approached him and offered the opportunity to become stronger. Unlike her other Pokémon, where she would approach with kindness and warmth, Evangeline was pretty cold and harsh. She knew that he was stubborn, so she pushed him to join her. At the time, he thought Evangeline was a human, so the fact that she saw right through him, humiliated him. He joined her and Evangeline continued to be hard on him, until he finally realized as to why he can’t battle properly. He was too focused on landing a hit, that he forgets about avoiding attacks. He doesn’t strategize, not using his strengths wisely and ignoring his weaknesses. ⌋

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⌈ Uji is another Pokémon used for single battles. Her high defenses and many resistances come in handy in these types of battles. Since fire types are a threat to Evangeline’s team, Uji can be used to terminate fire types. She is resistant to fire and knows earthquake just so she can wipe out any fire type Pokémon that goes against her team. ⌋

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⌈ Uji joined Evangeline shortly after Kyokan joined the team. As a Swablu, she would keep following Evangeline until she accepted her into the team (which did not take long.) Evangeline thinks that this Swablu followed her because she really liked Kyokan for some reason and wanted to stay with him. She figured that Uji also knows about Kyokan’s struggles and just wants to see if he can improve under the guide of a trainer. Of course, Evangeline didn’t mind and captured her so she can see Kyokan’s progress as well. Although she was initially a part of the team for Kyokan, Evangeline’s kindness made her like her presence. She played with her and fed her lots of berries, poffins, poké puffs, and poké beans. This nice treatment she was getting made her forget the reason why she joined the team in first place. ⌋
