Brendan's father was a horrible person. He abused his mother, him, and never put work in for the family. When he left, Brendan and his mother had nothing. His father had taken everything the family worked for with him. All the money his mother earned from her low paying job went into affording school. Brendan made an oath to himself never to be like his father, and to support his mother with everything he had.
After months of trying desperately to do well in school and make decent money at his job, he was offered an incredible amount of money from a mysterious letter left on his doorstep. The catch was, he must take part in a very, very dangerous experiment that could take his life all together.
Brendan saw good outcomes both ways. The obvious gaining a lot of money if it went well, but if he died in the process his mother would only need to care for herself. Lying by saying he was going to work, Brendan snuck out to the shady headquarters of the M.P.E.T, a military like organization focused on riding the world of rouge enhanced individuals, and using there abilities for there own.
Not knowing this Brendan happily obliged with procedure. He was strapped tightly down onto a table, using metal clamps and was hooked up with small tubes. Lot's of blood was taken, in order to make room for the upcoming fusion. He was then injected with the equivalent of a flu shot, and an unknown serum produced by their scientists.
Once set up was complete, he was locked in a pure white room alone, with a bunker-level glass window peering in. The workers cranked up a dial that began flowing a strange substance into Brendan's body.
Nearing the end of the process, Brendan began shaking and letting off a strange glow. He started yelling under the pain he felt. Though his thoughts stayed focused on his one goal. To help his mother. Suddenly, a system failure occurred and Brendan broke his restraints, suddenly screaming and letting off an atomic explosion that destroyed the entire lab.
When Brendan awoke, he caught a glimpse of his green glowing veins, before it faded away. He then looked around, and noticed a huge obelisk structure covered with bark... Stretching as wide as a pyramid and uncomprehendingly tall. Then it hit Brendan. He was tiny. Panicking he began thinking of huge things like buildings and mountains and trees, and when he opened his eyes he was a big as the statue of liberty.
Quickly learning how to tame his powers he became normal size, and return home to find a note on his door. Kill hundreds of our men, we kill the one thing that matters to you. ~M.P.E.T. Infuriated, he made it his life goal to avenge his mother and destroy the organization, bringing it to it's knees.
