“They what?!” He shouted as I finished.
“They’re coming here tomarrow.” I said. “The ones that can help us.”
“You invited, not just one person, but two people to my lab without my permission!?” He continued shouting.
“Yes?” I said tentatively.
“Uhhh.” He said. “What did you promise them to get them to come?” He asks, exasperated.
“What?” I asked confused.
“What did you promise them,” he said. “No one does anything for free, so why are they coming?”
“Oh, Mikey just wants to be able to talk to people again. He doesn’t like being restricted the way we are.” I said.
“And the other one?” He asked. “Who else did you convince, and why?”
“Oh, the other one’s Kara.” I said. “All she wants is a safe place to be able to draw again.”
“Oh,” He said, calming down. “I guess that’s fine. But how do you know they’ll help with the plan?” He asked.
“They want to get rid of the creativity bans just as much as we do.” I said and he nodded.
“Fine, and then we need to put the plan into action sometime before the 30th.” He said.
“Why the 30th?” I asked.
“Because after that, I’m not sure if you’ll still even want to help.” He said.
“Why is that?” I asked.
“Because you have training.” He said pointing at the 30 on my shirt. “Everyone is angrier after training, and the first training is always the worst.”
“Okay,” I relent. “Then we’ll do it sometime before then, sound good?” I ask.
“Yeah, now go home and get ready for tomorrow, you’ll have a lot of explaining to do to them.” He said, essentially dismissing me.
“K, bye.” I said and climbed up the rope. I walked home quickly and could barely sleep that night. My friends were going to be all together again and I couldn’t wait.
