An Adventure in Kalos: An Adventure in Kalos: Episode Eleven - First Date?

by avae

avae The Eleventh episode in Ava's journey through the Kalos region. She will face friend and foe to become the best trainer she can possible be.
As we left off, our heroes had arrived at Camphrier Town, known for its famous Pizza. Unexpectedly, the pizzeria caught fire and was bound to burn the whole city down. With quick thinking our heroes put a stop to the fire and saved the town. Sadly, our heroes still haven't eaten a single thing all day.

Ava and Elijah were walking back into town in search of something to eat. The fiasco with the fire had only made their stomachs even emptier. Ava spotted a diner a block ahead. Both of them took off in a full sprint to the building in hopes for something to quench their appetite.

"Welcome to the Camphrier Town Diner. How many will be dining today?" asked the waitress as soon as they walked in. "Just us two." Ava replied. The Waitress nodded and lead them down rows of booth before stopping at the one on the end. "Here we are. I'll be back in a couple minutes to take your orders." The waitress told them. Our heroes sat down and anxiously looked over their menus. Elijah looked around, the diner looked like it was built 500 years ago. Nothing in it was updated or even slightly modern.

"Sorry we couldn't have eaten at a nicer place." Elijah said softly. Ava looked confused, "It doesn't bother me. As long as they serve food, I could eat anywhere." The waitress came back for their orders. Ava ordered a Turkey Club and Elijah a bowl of Chicken Noodle Soup. The waitress smiled contently and rushed back into the kitchen to place their orders. Both trainers looked around the restaurant, neither knew what to say. Elijah decided to break the silence, "Are you ready for the next Gym Battle?" He asked awkwardly. Ava looked at him and said, "I hope so. I feel very close with my Pokémon, but I'm not sure if we have what it takes or not. But what I'm really looking forward to is the Showcase. I've waited so long to see one."

Elijah smiled, "I think you'll do great. I'm also very excited to see the Showcase too. It should be very interesting." Ava pulled out her two Pokeballs containing Fennekin and Eevee. She starred at them in deep thought. Elijah noticed this, "Is some wrong?" He asked. Ava looked up, "Pokémon are supposed to evolve eventually, right?" Elijah nodded, "Not all, but most Pokémon do yes."

"When will mine evolve?" She asked curiously. "It's different for every Pokémon. Some evolve whenever they feel like it, some may evolve by coming in contact with a certain items, and others may evolve during certain times of the day." Elijah replied. "Wow. I didn't know there were multiple ways to evolve your Pokémon. What about mine?" She said.

"Well, let's see. Fennekin will evolve whenever she feels like it. Working hard and training will help speed it up. An Eevee is a special type of Pokémon to say the least. She has 8 different possible evolutions. Some based on coming in contact with stones, others evolve during certain times of the day, or when they are near certain object, or even by having a very close relationship to it. I just depends." Elijah replied.

"I wasn't aware Eevee could evolve into so many different things. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens." Ava wondered. The waitress came back with their food and our heroes thanked her. They went right into devouring their meal. Not even stopping to take a breath. They finished their meal and the waitress brought the check. Ava dug into her purse to find money to pay for her meal then realized something, "Oh no... I forgot to refill on money." You're fine, I'll pay for it." Elijah replied. Ava was shocked, "I'm sorry, I'll pay you back when I find an ATM." Elijah laughed, "You don't have to pay back anything. Consider it on the house."

Ava smiled at thanked the lady for serving them. They both got up and walked outside to get back on the road. Cyllage City was just two days away, maybe shorter if they hurried up. Ava hugged Elijah unexpectedly; it was her way of saying "thanks". Elijah wasn't sure why he did, but he really liked her hugs. He wasn't sure why she hugged him a lot, but he wasn't going to ask.

Today, our heroes learned more about each other and their Pokémon. They were able to bond more and more during that small lunch session and were able to grow closer together. Hopefully the road ahead shines bright for our two heroes. They'll need it.
