Nous is an Intellectan from the planet Intellectan, a gray skinned squirrel-like species that is 5 inches tall. The Intellectans are a highly intelligent race that are responsible for many of the technologies in the series, including the Multitrix, the Negative Void Projector, the Negative Void itself, and the Intellectic Mechamorphs (Update's species), among others. The Intellectans even built stonehenge as a practical joke.The most notable Intellectan is the Multitrix's creator, Agura; notability that is based in no small part on her pioneering work in creating the Negative Void and her creating the Multitrix. She claims to be the most intelligent being in at least three galaxies, arguably five.
She is the third alien in the Multitrix originally. As Nous, Ali gains a Intellectan's calculative and technical intellect, being able to outwit larger enemies, create almost anything from spare parts, deduce the function of any device at a glance, and analytically help in difficult situations. Nous' size allows her to squeeze into small spaces and climb walls due to tiny suction cups on her skin, and she has buck teeth and slimy skin that make her difficult to grab. Though her small size has its advantages, it can become a disadvantage whenever the Multitrix times out, resulting in the much larger Ali getting stuck.
