Pokémon Parallel: Alacer Town at Last!

by Pokéboy098

Pokéboy098 Cornelia arrives at Alacer Town, while Marcus is still traveling to Cineraceus City. On the way, Cornelia catches a new team member and learns some more about her starter.
“Ugh. I hate the outside. It is so itchy.” Shouted Cornelia in the middle of a field to no one in particular. Her fiery bear cub roared a squeaky tiny roar of agreement. “I wonder if Monkeypuzzle has updated my Dex yet. I may as well try it.”
Cornelia held up her pokédex to the starter, and it tried to analyze it. It pulled up a page with the previously extinct Pokémon’s name, registration, and stats on it. “Yes, now I have a name for you!” Cornelia said joyously. “It says here you are called Igniscym, but that’s kinda long, so I’ll call Ignis!”
Ignis roared happily at the name, then it perked up, noticing something in the grass. “What is it, Ignis?” Asked Cornelia curiously as a small blue bird came hopping out of the grass. It looked at Ignis and shot water, which the fire type dodged, almost being quenched. Cornelia threw a pokéball, not really knowing you’re supposed to weaken them first, but got lucky and caught it anyway. “My Dex says your name is Passerow, but I’ll just call you Pass!” Said Cornelia as she let out her new friend. Then she saw a town in the distance and knew at once it was Alacer Town. “Yes! Look! We’re almost there, Ignis! Let’s go!” She said and took off running with Ignis behind and Pass above.
She arrived in Alacer Town just before the Inn closed up and she got a room. It was getting dark, and she knew from experience how cold it could get in the Cencion region, especially in the northern mountainous areas. On the way up to her room, she grabbed a map from a nearby rack, and when she got in her room, she laid it down on the bed and looked at it. “So, if I’m actually gonna do this Gym Challenge thing, next up is Cineraceus City! I can’t wait!”
And with that, Cornelia fell asleep with Ignis beside her, dreaming of what was to come.

Meanwhile, Marcus had had some trouble on the way to Cineraceus and had not been prepared. It was night, and even with his battle skills, the grass serpent, which he had found out was named Bryaspis, was near fainting.on top of all that, he did not have a tent or shelter. He had tried hiding in a cave, but the creature in there had not liked it one bit, and it didn’t go well for him at all. The only good thing about these battles was the XP Bryaspis had gotten, but it wasn’t enough to evolve, and even if it was, it wouldn’t help Marcus with shelter. “Sorry, buddy.” Marcus said, “But I need to sleep more than you do, so you need to protect me.”
He had found a sizable Bush to sleep in and knew that since Bryaspis didn’t need as much sleep, he would be probably be fine. “Look, I’m no more happy about sleeping in a Bush and entrusting my life to you than you are, ok?” Replied Marcus to Bryaspis’s constant complaining hisses. “Now please shut up so I can get rest. If I can sleep well tonight we can get to Cineraceus By Sunset tomorrow, and then you can sleep in a bed.”
Marcus, still shivering from the cold, fell asleep in a bush with frightening dreams of having to share a bed with a snake.
