I struggled to my feet, and used my double tail to smack the creature across its face. it looked dazed.
"Okay. okay, you win," it cried, "my name is Shade."
"I can't see you. What Pokémon are you?"
"Don't freak out, but an Umbreon."
Suddenly, the sun rose over a far hill, revealing Shade's black, sleek body and the gold rings around his body. I heard a click from my right.
"Shade, run!"
I heard the gun fire from behind us, skimming my front leg. I cried out in pain. Shade paused and lifted me over his back, and with surprising speed under weight retreated into the thick wood. All of a sudden, we were enfulged in oblivion.
"What the- Shade, where are we?"
"We're in the shadow world. They cant see us from in here." his head disappeared, then appeared again. "It's clear. come on." We stepped forward and entered sunlight again.
"Shade, the bullet cut my leg," I groaned, revealing my bleeding leg. His eyes widened in shock, and he ran into a bush.
"Shade! Don't abandon me!" He came back with a small Budew on his back.
"Budew, can you please heal my friend with heal pulse?" I wave of warmth washed over me, and the cut on my hind leg vanished.
"Oh thankyou, it feels so much better!" the Budew nodded and ran away.
For the rest of the day, Shade and I collected food. Once the moon rose over the skyline, Shade and I took shelter by a tall tree, and I slept, feeling happy for the first time in a long time.
