Yes, but he GAVE UP THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE because he didn't want his friendship with Jay to end. Can you imagine watching the only girl/guy you loved with another girl/guy and knowing you had the chance to change it? Cole had it bad for Nya, and he let Jay have her.

And if we're talking physically, Cole's power had given him super-strength before the DOtD special, and after that he got those ghost hands or whatever. So yeah. Cole is the obvious choice for most valuable Ninja.
