Welcome back to Pokécharms! We've recently launched a new site and upgraded forums, so there may be a few teething issues as everything settles in. Please see our Relaunch FAQs for more information.
I'll be brief... *woosh* Net neutrality is when you have the ability to access any site and have equal connection to all sites, regardless of the content the site has. No company can slow or stop data from flowing onto that site just because they don't like it for any reason.
It's a shame, really. Not only will there be social concequences (such as schools who use the internet), but financial ones as well. The repeal will have the opposite effect and will instead just cause American content creators and cable companies both to lose money.
If it's phrased that way, I garuntee the senators would begin to reconsider because money is what they're after. I genuinely hope they don't go through with it, for the sake of the entire internet community and those that use it. (Sorry if this is super long)
The idea of repealing Net Neutrality sickens me. All it does is hurt the consumer and line internet provider’s pockets. Plus, it creates a very competitive setting, similar to a Wild West Showdown. It also seemingly unravels internet fairness.
