Unless you're part of RP or an active conversation it tends to be a little quiet. I usually look for artwork and news and leave my comments. I like to welcome new people as well, but yeah communication can be a bit a slow sometimes; in terms of having alerts on your own profile anyway.

I only do conversations now so it is a bit slow but better than getting way behind on an RP

Well, I don't have any experience about that as I've never done forum RP, been in a couple of short conversations though.
