Welcome back to Pokécharms! We've recently launched a new site and upgraded forums, so there may be a few teething issues as everything settles in. Please see our Relaunch FAQs for more information.
I got plenty friends ,but I don't think any of them are pokémon fans. To be fair I have no intentions in asking people only to be met with weird confused looks. I get plenty of those looks already.
I don't get those looks very often. But that's because I have a strategy for making people leave me alone (since I don't like socializing). I scowl when I walk around in my town
I'm good with the friends I have. Promised myself to not make any more friends when I was 14 and have kinda managed to hold that promise (unless online friends count?) because people were just idiots. I might only have 2 friends, but every other friend I had were so manipulative that I don't even care
Finding good friends can be hard. I got several good friends. Being in a martial arts club I know a lot of really nice people. I don't talk to them often ,but there are always nice and I enjoy their company.
I tried out aikido and fencing but aikido was boring and the fencing teacher was a complete douchebag so I didn't stay for long. Before that I used to ride horses but didn't really get close to anyone there. And I trained football (soccer for Americans) before that, but everyone was mean to me lol
I played american football. I wasn't that good ,but everyone was super nice and supportive. Real cool people. Guess you had bad luck there. As for martial arts my instructor is really cool guy. The stuff is pretty hard at times ,and it can be boring doing the same stuff over and over. I still enjoy it. Sorry to hear about your experiences.
I've had bad luck pretty much my whole life, not only in hobbies. Except for RPing. But I'll probably find some other hobby as well. Wanna start doing some martial arts
I been in martial arts over 10 years. I still enjoy it. Money and time can be a real problem. location is important too. Nobody wants to drive two hours to and from their class regularly. If you can find a good school that's budget friendly I recommend it. Doesn't matter what style it is as long as your enjoying/benefiting from it. I practice goju ryu karate as well as ching yi kung fu.
being in karate 10 years means I'm pretty biased towards that... I have no love for tae kwon do ,but respect anyone who wants to practice it. don't know a thing about aikido nor kick-boxing. If you ever decide to join one best way to get one right for you is to give it a try. Don't like it? try another club.
Aikido didn't work for me. It was pretty boring. It's all about subduing an opponent without harming them. Which is great and all, but I prefer fighting. I think I'd go with either kick-boxing or Tae Kwon Do. Maybe both
the TKD school may be a sport club which might be up your ally but might not if your hoping for actual self defense. most sport martial arts are trash self defence ,but will teach you to score points. (if its not obvious I usually dislike sport martial arts). Please don't let my negative opinions sway you from joining a cool club. You might like TKD.
TKD is abbreviation for Tae Kwon Do if that isn't obvious. Though I'm sure you figured that out. Something you might want to ask the instructor there if there TKD school is apart of WTF(World Taekwondo Federation).
