For me it depends on what mood I am in and who I am role-playing with. First-person is great for laid back RPs and when I just want to have fun. 3rd person I tend to stress writing but can be great when I am in a creative mood and I want to push more on my writing skills. But my favorite and longest-running rp I have is a first-person rp that has gone on since 2015. Every 3rd person one fizzled out within a few days.

I also agree, in third person I can easily tell the readers that my character is going to have the worst day ever that's completely out of his control. And there's nothing he can do about it, I mean, what's he gonna do, complain? Pfffft.

1st person is good if you want to have fun with the restriction. Personally, I think 3rd is easier, but 1st can be interesting to try and write
