Did she not travel through Hoenn, or was there another reason?

yup, just hasn't traveled through Hoenn (ironic considering sapphire was the first game i played)

That is pretty ironic. She'll do it eventually, (Alpha Sapphire~?))

yeah she'll travel there eventually, as well as to whatever region ends up being the one for gen 8 (not alpha for me, my first pkmn game was saph on gba)
