The new gym leader in Sunyshore City. Volkner has left his gym to his childhood friend Maron so he could pursue other things in life with his partner pokémon, rather than battle day after day. Maron took the position with great humility because he had considered Volkner somewhat of an older brother figure and great rival in battle. Maron is a optimistic, kind-hearted, and stubborn young man. He likes to battle people who have unorthodox ways of battling with their pokémon. Although he is a strong opponent he does have someone problems with patience. He does have tendency to turn down gym challengers who are to boring to fight mid-battle. To add to that, recently, he has been going throuhg a change that he has kept under wraps. Some believe he is becoming soft, some believe he is becoming discrimitory to people's battle style, some think he should be taken out of the gym and want Volkner back. But people who are close to him, like his family, have only said that has been a little bit secluded due to loss. No one knows what kind of loss. No one knows how much loss. Just loss...
