Demon Slayer Chronicles: The Crimson Mist Demon Part 2: The Bloody Start

by ThAtGuY101

ThAtGuY101 This is a continuation off the episode 'The Crimson Mist Demon'. After the Demon Slayer RP ended... I kinda want/wanted to continue both my demon slayer and demon's stories. RIP for the RP... Side note: I've procrastinated in continuing this written works series but I plan to drop more in the future.
Two weeks had passed since Ren killed the young hunter. The look on his face flashed when he closed his eyes, and the sound of the scream on his blood filled scream echoed in his mind. Training helped clear his mind. Having something to focus on helped occupy his wondering thoughts. Kept him from being completely bored for the most part.

The training dummies were thick log timbers found just outside the cave within walking distance. Wood splinters and shards decorated the floor surrounding the training area. The smell of herbs and other plant based aromas gave a strong pungent smell that would cause average people to wince at the smell of it. Iron palm bags filled with sand and oil from the herb mixture.

Rat skeletons decorated parts of the cave. Most notably a deep dark pit where various animal carcasses sat at the bottom. These animals were tossed into the pit after Ren experimented with his blood ability.

Ren sat in the corner of the cave watching rats scurry around. His hands and arms that were slowly healing after he had spent time using blood magic. It was too bright to go outside, and he needed to regenerate lost blood so he patiently sat there on the ground. Dark brown and grayish brown rats mostly. One rat caught his attention. A pale white rat, it was different from the other rats, but the other rats still treated it like any other rat. This put a smile on Ren's face. The rats were now headed further into the narrow passageways and down the bowels of the cave. The cave was pretty big. So big that a couple demons could live there and not see each other. Though despite this, the cave was too small for Ren's ego or ambitions. Ren was one of those 'free spirit' things or whatever. He always enjoyed life risking anyways. Though for now, he still needed to wait and heal. The cuts on his arms faded away and his blood began to replenish itself.

Nightfall eventually came, and Ren was fully healed, and ready to go. He looked outside at the dimly star lit sky. the cloud hid the moon, and for the most part it was a relatively quiet night. "Now or never..." Ren said. Ren began walking away from his cave, not looking back. Step after step. Farther and farther he went. His pathway was a mostly straight line, only turning to walk around a tree or other object in his way. Where would this lead him? Only one way to find out... In theory this wasn't a well thought out plan, but if you were gonna blindly go somewhere, might as well do whatever you want.

The ocean was just over the horizon. Ren stood atop the cliff face looking at the water climb the cliffs edge only for it to sink and fall back down once more. A cottage was nearby. Morning was not too far off. The cottage might be abandoned. A few things stood out about the cottage. One, There was blood on the door and the ground next to it. Two, something smelled alluring, but Ren couldn't tell what. The smell was familiar, the smell reminded him of the young hunter. However this smell was far more desirable. What was it? Why did the smell remind him of that now?

He approached the cottage, and was shocked to find a corpse in it, "Woah! He's... D-d-dead... Why does he smell good though? I wanna get a closer look at him" Ren said.

"Filthy trash! Get the hell away from the Marechi or I'll kill you bastard!" A loud angry voice shouted. A demon was standing by the door.

"What? Mare- What?! Who are yo-" Ren was interrupted.
"I'll ask the questions!! Who the hell are yooou!!!" The demon shouted.
"I didn't kill this man so wha-" Ren was interrupted.
"Yeah no duh, stupid! I killed him shhh for brains! The Marechi is mine!" The demon snapped.
"I don't even know what that is!" Ren yelled back.
"Typical. Filthy new bloods never know their place. Don't know the pecking order, I'm gonna kick your ass then I'm gonna eat my meal while you fizzle out in the sun" The demon said.
"Bring it on then! I whooped uglier sorrier looking mugs than yours" Ren said.
The demon didn't respond after this. He lunged.

He was quick. Too quick for Ren. Ren dodged but was still hit. Ren threw a crescent kick but it was blocked, and the demon broke his leg. Ren swung his arm, but the demon caught it as well. As the demon went to break it, Ren kicked him with his broken leg. They both grunted, but Ren was in more pain. The demon broke Ren's arm, "You idiot! Your gonna die for that!" The demon yelled. Ren stomped on the demon's foot then as the demon bent over, Ren headbutted him in the jaw knocking him back. Ren kneed him in the stomach with his good leg.

"Curse you!" The demon yelled smacking Ren atop his shoulder,, nearly knocking him down. Ren lunged out grappling him and went to slam him into the wall. The demon began to punch him before Ren headbutted him in the face breaking his nose. This fight went on with both Ren and the other demon sustaining quite a few nasty injuries. Ren sustained some really bad injuries but managed to get the upper hand against the other demon. The sun was going to come up soon. The other demon kept muttering about the marechi. The demon desperately tried to reach the body to enjoy his meal before it went bad.

In his act of desperation, gave Ren the opportunity to lob his head right off with a powerful blow. The head went right out the window. The demon was fuming now. Cursing Ren as his head laid there on the grass outside. The morning was gonna be here soon, and the demon became less angry and more afraid than anything else. Even going as far as to share the marechi if Ren simply brought his head back inside. Ren had no way of knowing if the demon was lying or not. Either way, the sun was coming fast, and Ren needed to save himself. He regretted not saving the demon. Part of him wondered if the demon would keep his word. Ren would never get the answer to this question since the morning sun burned the demon's head away. The body faded away soon. The corpse still lie where Ren found it.

The other demon wasn't the only one to feel the desire to eat the marechi. Ren felt it too, but unlike the other demon, Ren still had part of his humanity left. He begrudgingly forgone his newfound urges. The thought of enjoying this temptation danced around in Ren's head. It was tormenting. Ren laid under the bed where the sun would not shine. He'd be there until the next nightfall. "I'm sorry..." Ren muttered. He managed to fall asleep. Hopefully when he woke up again, it would be nightfall and he could leave the cottage then. Perhaps give the corpse a burial. He didn't care for the deceased person so much as it was him proving to himself that he still has free will over his decision making, and was not a mere beast. This was going to feel like a long day.
