Chapter 2: Secret Shelters

by T.C.

T.C. On a remote island far away from any civilization, a crazy entity appeared, and began to play dangerous games with the residents. And now, to stay in the game, they are dependent on you, the viewers! Who will win the grand prize, and who will be sent away?
Early in the morning, Tortilla was sprinting over to her bread buddies as fast as she could. She had an idea, and she did not want to lose it.

“Hey, I got the best idea ever! What if we form an alliance? It could be called Carb Crew! Thoughts?”
“Well..” Pita Chip began, “I don’t know.. m-maybe? Only if Monkey Bread wants to, though..”
Monkey Bread looked at Tortilla and nodded. It was official, there was now an alliance!

“You know, I’m starting to think that The Creator is up to something.” said Circle.
“Hopefully it’s a giant death ray to kill us.” replied H.
“H, why do you even want to die? Is something wrong? Did someone hurt you?”
“I just hate Earth.”
“Yeah, but why?”

Meanwhile, Baba Odker was setting up chairs for the elimination.

“Yo Baba! What’s up?” asked Netherite.
The Stickalite sighed, “Can’t you hear the narration? It just said I’m setting up for the elimination.”
“Oh..”
“Yeah, now go sit in one of those chairs, as I teleport the rest of your team here.”

With the snap of Baba’s nonexistent fingers, all of Team Red was brought to the elimination area.

“Uhh..” Protractor said, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. “What time is it..?”
“It’s elimination time! Yeah! Now, everyone, WAKE UP!” Baba Odker yelled.
“HUH WHO WHAT?! I’M UP!” yelled Jawbreaker.
“Let’s begin! We received twelve votes! A record high! First safe with zero votes each is Flaggy and Spiked Punch!”
“Hooray! I’m not hated!” Flaggy cheered.
“Balloon and Protractor both got one vote apiece.”
“Oh no!” Protractor said. “I was hoping I would get out, so you all could continue to go on and hopefully win!”
“Stop being so self centered!” Jawbreaker intervened.
“We now only have three of you left! Jawbreaker, Netherite, and Robot Eyeball! Jawbreaker?”
“Yes?”
“You’re not the next one safe, it’s actually Netherite, with three votes!”
“I’m in the bottom two with HIM?! WHY?!” yelled Jawbreaker, seeming very upset.
“Oh the great mysteries of life.” Netherite murmured.
“The last one safe, with three votes is… Jawbreaker. Robot Eyeball, I’m sorry, but you have been eliminated with four votes.”
“So, what’s gonna happen to him?” asked Flaggy.
“Oh, he is going to be trapped in the dimension I made that is filled with all the losers of my previous shows!” Baba joyfully replied.
“WHAT?!” Protractor screamed. “YOU CAN’T DO THAT!”
“Too late, I’ve already decided that it’s happening!”

Baba Odker grabbed Robot Eyeball, and a long piece of paper filled with contestants. In the blink of an eye, Robot Eyeball disappeared, and was now inside the banner.

“The next challenge will start soon. Bye!” said the Stickalite, teleporting away.
“I can’t believe it..” Jawbreaker began, “I almost got voted out over Robot Eyeball! The nerve of the viewers! Right, Protractor?”
“Sure..” responded the saddened tool.

“Who do you think got eliminated?” Circle asked his team.
“Oh, definitely Netherite! He’s such a jerk!” High Heel chimed in.
“I hope it was the dolt, Punch!” said Briefcase.
“I was hoping it would be Protractor, she’s too nice.”
“But H, that’s like, good, right?”
“No, Heel. It’s not.”
“Challenge time!” Baba Odker yelled.
“Baba, punctuality. Ever heard of it?” Briefcase said smugly.
“No.”
“Baba, where did you even come from?” asked High Heel.
“CHALLENGE.”

Baba Odker unhinged his jaw, allowing his tongue to emerge. It formed a hand before snapping, which teleported everyone to him.

“Let’s make today’s challenge to be something fun! I know you guys had to sleep outside last night, so the challenge is to make a place for you and your team to live! Whatever team builds the best shelter in a hour wins! Go!”
“Wait!” yelled Flaggy. “I don’t want to sound pushy, but can we get some materials for this challenge?”
“It’s called a challenge, Flaggy. Not a blueprint.”

“Alright team, I think Pita Chip should come up with the design! After all, this is her team!” Tortilla suggested.
“M-me?! No, I can’t..!”
“That’s okay.” Circle said, “We won’t pressure you.”
“…Thank you.” said Pita Chip.
“I say we don’t do anything, then we all can just be eliminated.” H responded.
“H, if you want to be eliminated, then ask Baba if you can just quit!”
“High Heel!” Briefcase yelled, “How dare you suggest that one of our teammates leave! How crude!”

“Team, I have an idea! Yesterday, I saw this cool cave, so maybe we can go and build a shelter there!” Jawbreaker exclaimed.
Netherite scoffed. “No, I have a base in the Nether. If we can just get some obsidian and some fire, then we can just go there.”
“I don’t want to live in literal hell..” Flaggy whispered.
“Okay, well, I’m gonna go make a portal. Bye!”
As Netherite ran off, Flaggy sighed. “He always just wants to rush into everything. I wish he would just stop and think, you know?”
“Yeah..” Protractor answered.
“Protractor? Are you okay?”
Protractor took a deep breath, “NO, I’M NOT OKAY! BABA JUST PICKED UP ROBOT EYEBALL AND TRAPPED HIM IN A DIFFERENT DIMENSION! OF COURSE I’M NOT OKAY!”
Jawbreaker rolled on over to the two. “Protractor, calm down!”
“NO! I HAVE A RIGHT TO BE ANGRY!”

“Oh look, the other team is arguing with themselves.” High Heel pointed out.
“Yeah.. anyway, are you gonna help us make a decision?” Circle asked.
“Not unless you all make me my personal palace!”
“I’ll take that as a no.”

Baba Odker was sitting on the ground, messing with a timer. He was struggling to actually work it. Frustrated, he smashed it on the ground.

“Five minutes left!” he yelled.
“WHAT?!” the contestants yelled in shock.

Jawbreaker and Flaggy were trying to calm down Protractor, as Balloon was hiding in a bush with Spiked Punch. Netherite ran up to all of Team Red.

“Guys! I got the portal! Help me light it!” he yelled.
“Let’s use Balloon to get some static electricity.” Spiked Punch said.

“Oh no oh no oh no!” Briefcase yelled. “We don’t have an idea even done yet!”
“Let’s just give up. We’re all going to be eliminated either way.” H told his team. “We are losers. Let’s just face the facts.”
“I hate to be a downer, but H is probably right. We have no way to win..” Circle said, upset.

Baba Odker flew up into the sky, and screamed as loud as he could, indicating that the challenge has ended.

“Let’s see your shelters! Team Red, go first!”
“We made a base in the Nether!” Netherite said.
“Hmm.. it’s too blocky. Whatever, I give it a seven out of ten! Next is Team Blue!”
“Well.. we never like, had any time to make one.” High Heel said, apprehensively.
“Oh, so you were just lazy. Okay, you all lose. Viewers at home, vote on someone from Team Blue to be eliminated! You can vote for Pita Chip, Monkey Bread, Tortilla, High Heel, Briefcase, Circle, or H!”
“No, don’t vote!” Protractor yelled, “If you get eliminated, you get trapped in a different dimension! So please, viewers, don’t vote!”
“SHUT UP.” Baba Odker snapped back.
Willow Tree likes this.
