It has been announced that the 3D CG remake of Pokémon: The First Movie, Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution will be getting a home video release in the US.

In a tribute to trainer Baik Jongyoon, a semi-finalist in the 2019 Pokémon World Championships' Senior Division, Pokémon Korea has released a download code that allows owners of Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield to obtain a shiny Amoonguss.

This Amoonguss is a replica of the one Baik used during the competition. You'll need to use the code TRA1NERSCUP via the Mystery Gift menu to grab your own, but this code will only work for a very limited time. The distribution will end tomorrow (August 10th) at 3:59 PM UK time (10:59 AM EST / 7:59 AM PST).

Following a delay caused by the global pandemic, this year's Pokémon movie has narrowly avoided making this year the first since 1998 to not feature a new Pokémon movie release in Japan by sneaking in a new release date of the 25th December.

Pre-orders for tickets open this Friday and will come with codes for Pokémon Sword and Shield to receive the Shiny Celebi and the Mythical Zarude as Mystery Gifts. No details on the release of the movie or this Pokémon distribution have been announced for outside of Japan yet.

This time last year it was announced that The Pokémon Company and Chinese studio TiMi Studio Group were teaming up to create a new Pokémon game. In today's Pokémon Presents the game they were working on has finally been revealed. Read on to find out more!

Meeting their original promise to release the first of two DLC expansions for Sword & Shield "before the end of June", the Pokémon Company has announced today that The Isle of Armor will be available to download from the 17th June.

A few new details about the expansion have also been announced, including the first information on Galarian Slowbro.

As well as the new story content, new wild area and new and returning Pokémon already confirmed for the first DLC, several new moves and features will also be introduced and exclusively available within this area.

It has been confirmed that the latest dub series of the Pokémon anime will be known as Pokémon Journeys: The Series. As well as releasing an official trailer, broadcast details for the show have also been confirmed. You can check out the trailer below and read more after the jump:

It has been announced this week that the 2020 Pokémon World Championships have been cancelled.

Play! Pokémon events had previously been cancelled up until May due to ongoing concerns regarding Coronavirus, so perhaps it comes as no surprise that this has unfortunately extended to all events up to and including the World Championships themselves.

The World Championships were due to be held in London this year. Play! Pokémon have confirmed that the event will be held in London in 2021 instead and any championship points earned by players so far will roll over to the 2021 season of events.
