As always, it's been very quiet in the Pokémon world over the last few months. Pokémon Sun and Moon have been and gone, shaking up the franchise as they go, but the hype quickly faded, and we all began to ask... what's next?

It sounds like we'll find out tomorrow – Nintendo have announced a Pokémon Direct for tomorrow, June 6th, at 3pm British Standard Time (that's 7 am PT – you can translate this into your own timezone here.)

New Pokemon Mega Stones.jpg

A new download code for use with Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon has been revealed and gives fans the chance to get their hands on four Mega Stones. These Mega Stones are Pidgeotite, Steelixite, Heracronite and Houndoominite which are for use with Pidgeot, Steelix, Heracross and Houndoom.
We haven't done one of these in a while! For those of you who might be new to Flash Challenges, these are light-hearted, freeform artistic prompts, hopefully serving as inspiration for those who want to be creative.

So without further ado, the challenge this time is:

The Challenge

Create a written work, artwork, or trainer card about a legendary encounter.

At its most simple, this could be a battle with a Legendary or Mythical Pokémon. But a legendary encounter could be many things – after all, the fated battle between a trainer and their rival could be called a legendary encounter. So could a great test of skill, or the birth of a new friendship.

The choice, as always, is yours. The instructions for how to enter are in the full post...

Back in December of last year, the first teaser for the 20th Pokémon movie was revealed by the Japanese children's TV show Oha Suta. Now, two and a half months later, Oha Suta has also aired the first full-length trailer for the film, named "Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!" in Japan.

This new movie trailer shows us a retelling of the day that Ash Ketchum first met Pikachu. Long-time fans of the anime series will quickly spot several differences within the trailer from the original anime episode, such as the slightly altered design of Ash's hat and, more importantly, the increased focus on Ho-Oh.
