Dear Pokédiary: Dear Pokédiary - Volume 1

by The Voltagonist

The Voltagonist Jump into the thoughts, feelings and adventures of a bright 6-year old girl, who dreams of becoming a Pokémon Trainer!
SUNDAY:
Dear Pokédiary,

My name is January. You can call me Jan if you want to. I'm six years old, and I want to become a Pokémon Trainer. I have a sister named April, who can't even say her own name yet. I don't know how she'll even learn to walk if she keeps this up. I also have a mommy who works at a Pokémon Center, and a daddy who works in Kanto, where we live now. We moved here just two days ago, and we just got done unpacking the furniture. I was so excited, yet I felt very sad, too. I didn't want to leave my friends behind, but it seems I'm not old enough to have a say in this just yet.

Me, mommy and April all moved to this place called Pallet Town. She told us that we would be able to see daddy more when we moved here, but I still have yet to see what this Silf Coe job he has is. I really miss my friends. Mommy bought you today, little Pokédiary, because she told me it would help me feel better if I wrote my feelings down in you. I don't understand how writing down my feelings would change my feelings. If you write down that you are felling sad, wouldn't that make you feel more sad? Oh well. I trust my mommy, so I might as well try it out. After I do, I think I'm going to go play outside. I don't like spending my Sundays inside when it's nice out. Actually, I hate spending time indoors at all when the weather is good.

MONDAY:
Dear Pokédiary,
I met some of our new neighbors today. There was this very nice man named Professor Oak. He was very funny and made me laugh a lot. He also told me that one day, he'll be the one to give me the most important thing a Pokémon Trainer needs. I hope the hat he gets me is a pretty color.

There were three older kids, too. This one kid named Blue stole my Pikachu doll, and it almost made me cry. He gave it back to me and said he was only joking. I wish he was nice and funny like Professor Oak. There was another boy named Red, and a girl named Leaf. They didn't seem to like talking that much. I don't think Blue liked that either, because he seemed to pick on them a lot. I don't like Blue.

There was also this big guy named Barry. He seemed to love berries, and he shared one with me. He said it was called an orange berry or something. I don't know if he's messing with me or what, because this berry is blue. He also couldn't stop talking about the power of science. I wonder if he's a scientist or something?

We also met this nice lady named Flora, and she had this beautiful garden of flowers. She told me that I could help her tend to them whenever I wanted. I love flowers, so I think I'll enjoy myself. Also, it looked like one of them was smiling at me.

I also realized that Pallet Town isn't as big as I thought it was. There's not many people here, but I guess that's okay. At least I'll have a garden of flowers to keep me busy with.

TUESDAY:
Dear Pokédiary,

Mommy told me to go play outside today. I decided to go play by the water. I wanted to go swimming in it, but my swimsuit wasn't unpacked yet. I was picking flowers along the edge of the water, and I was having a nice talk with my Pikachu doll. She told me that it was going to rain soon. She also said that I should get a raincoat or I might get cold. I didn't believe her. I told her that it was very nice out, and there were no clouds in the sky, so how could it rain?

Pretty soon it started to rain. Mommy called me back inside. The rain didn't bother me, but I was kind of cold, so I told the flowers not to go anywhere and went back inside. As usual, my Pikachu doll knows best.

I told mommy how my day went, and she was very happy I had fun. She made me a sandwich and gave me a glass of Moomoo Milk. She asked me if I wanted to watch "Watchy Watchog" with her, and I said yes. We watched the show for a while, but then she said it was time for bed.

Today went by really fast, but I had a lot of fun.

WEDNESDAY:
Dear Pokédiary,
I was playing in my yard today, and I saw Red, Leaf and Blue going over to Professor Oak's lab today. I got curious, so I decided to see what they were doing. I looked through his window, and I saw that they were each getting their own Pokémon! That must mean that they're all Pokémon Trainers now! That is so cool! I continued to watched them for a bit, but I think the Professor saw me, so I ducked down real quick.

As they were leaving, I went back to my front yard and pretended I didn't know a thing. The Professor called me over when he saw me, and I got real nervous. When I got to him, he pats my head real soft. He told me that it was time for Red, Leaf and Blue to begin their journeys as Pokémon Trainers, and that they were going to leave Pallet Town for a while. I really wanted to make friends with Red and Leaf, so I started to cry a little. Then Leaf got down on her knees, and looked me in the eyes. She didn't say a thing, but she took her hat off and put in on my head. I then looked in her eyes, and I saw my own reflection. It made me all warm and fuzzy inside.

After a few words and a lot goodbyes, all three were gone. The Professor told me that one day I'll be going on the same journey as them. I asked him when that would be, and he told me the moment I turn 10, my adventure will begin. I felt sad again, because that would mean I would have to wait a long time before I can become a Pokémon Trainer.

When I looked back up at Professor Oak, he was staring at Flora's flower garden. He told me that I should have a closer look at her garden. I asked him why, and he said that I would feel much better if I did. As he went back into the lab, I went to the garden. When I got there, I started admiring the flowers, but then I heard this lovely sound come from the garden. As I looked to see what came from, one of the flowers started to move. It scared me for a second, but as I got a better look, I saw that it was a Pokémon! It walked out of the flower patch and looked at me with a big smile on its face. It looked like it wanted to play, so I started playing with it. As we were playing, I noticed the Professor watching me through his lab window, with an even bigger smile on his face.

I also hope he doesn't plan on giving me that hat anytime soon. I really like the one that Leaf gave me.

@Vaporeonn: Thanks! I'm glad you liked it! It's wasn't easy trying to sound like a 6-year old girl in this story. Thankfully, I had a cousin around the same age as January to help me out.

Also, I intend to continue this for a while. I have some great ideas I'm hoping to put to good use.
