It may seem weird to many to say it was life as usual in the sewers, but for the large society of Gijinka that made it home, it was all they knew. The tunnels were tall, and ran for miles all under the city. The central cavity carried a foul smelling liquid, while they kept to the paved sides that were made for service workers. On occasion, a wild grimer or muk would drift past, paying any of the humanoids very little attention. Perhaps it was stupid of them to continuously reform the groups that always seemed to draw the raiders, but the need for a society, to not be alone in the world was a strong pull. Together, they could share food, stories, tips, and on occasion, they might even try to train together.

On this particular day, the small community was just as dull as ever, but off around a corner a rather young looking Deino girl was sparing with a much larger partner, a Rhyhorn gijinka. He parried and blocked many attacks, but she still managed to push him around quite a bit. The most amazing part, in his opinion, was that her hair never seemed to come out of her eyes. Indeed, the girl was practically blind, but seemed completely unaffected by her impairment in a fight.

The two wrapped up, and returned together to the group.

"See ya Di!" he waved merrily, to which Di simply nodded. As she was cooling down and drinking some water offered to her, she became aware of a new Gijinka in the mix, one she hadn't heard before. From the high pitch eminating from them and the draconic aura, she could safely assume they were a Noibat. It was odd for her to encounter another dragon type, as they were fairly desirable, and often a bit more recluse than other Gijinka. Perhaps they came seeking food or water?

The Noibat, on the other hand, was a bit unnerved by the way the blind Gijinka seemed to be studying him. It was pretty hard to see in the dark sewers, but his echo-location made it easy enough to make out somewhat three dimensional images of everything around him. Approaching the same woman that had given the blind girl water, he stuck his hands in his short pockets and looked rather frustrated with himself.

"C-could I have some of your water?" he grumbled out the question, almost too quiet for the woman to hear. Although she seemed a few years elder to the Deino, she still looked to the girl, who gave a simple nod, before pouring a second glass for the Noibat. He downed it greedily and handed back the cup, about to walk away. Di snagged his arm before he could get far, making him jump.

"What do you say?" she asked softly, indicating the woman. It took him a moment to realize what she meant.

"Oh, thank you ma'am," he said with a curt bow, before pulling his arm away and turning to leave. Di watched him go, a bit concerned for the young dragon, but sensing he, like others, was probably too proud to stick around and admit he needed help. That he even asked for water was amazing, so she simply let him go.

In a side alley near a fairly nice restaurant, an unmarked police car sat, with one cop leaning up against the hood, although he wore no true uniform. From his waist hung a small but thick circular device. A Gijinka controller, awaiting an occupant. On his phone he studied a small map of the sewers below him, waiting for his signal. It came eventually, a red point flashing on the map with a small beep.

"He's found a batch. Not too far from here either," the officer smiled, sticking the phone in his pocket. "Let's get to catching, shall we?"

Finally back in the safety of the sewer Nina could finally relax. She'd managed to steal 5 wallets, a cellphone, a sandwich and 7 candy bars on her way from the marina to the closet sewer entrance. The cellphone was an extra special catch and she was excited to start taking it apart for spare parts. She took off her sunglasses and started scarfing down the sandwich she had snached off a food vendors cart.
"This ain't that bad. Could use some mayo though" She mumbled to herself as she felt her way down the corridor. She was used to the dark but it always took a moment to adjust after being out in the sunlight. She wished she could use her own natural light but knew that would call unnecessary attention to herself. Though maybe that would be a good thing. She hadn't seen any other Gijinka in a couple of months and the prospect of maybe finding a community to stay with for a bit cause her to light up under her hoodie (though thankfully it was almost completely stifled under the thick fabric.)
She regained her composure and started running down the corridors looking for a good place to camp out.
As she ran down the corridors she stopped dead in her tracks when she came out of a tunnel and found herself looking a a small community of Gijinka.
This was exactly what she was hoping for.
She cautiously walked over to the closest Gijinka she could see; Who's rough silhouette suggested some sort of winged Gijinka and the sound emanating from him confirmed that this was a Noibat.
"Um escuse me? I don't want to intrude but i was wondering if maybe I might be able to get some help." She inquired of the Gijinka.

Sid had been on his way out of the small community when he was stopped by another incoming gijinka. He couldn't really make out what she was from her shape...

"Uh..." the boy seemed unsure. "I don't really know, I'm not from here. I uh..." he seemed to struggle with something, brow furrowing just a moment. "I think they'll help you." He started to try and walk away again, but he paused seeing the Deino from earlier approach them. She sniffed the air a bit oddly, making the hairs on the back of Sid's neck rise.

"You're new around here," she simply stated, not even bothering to ask. "Both of you should stay a while."

"Thanks, but I'll pass," he replied flatly. "I really should get going again..."

"Wait," she ordered, suddenly perking up. It seemed the others nearby fell into a hush as well, seeing her grow so attentive. "Large wing beats..." she said simply. Although Sid could not hear them himself, he had an idea of what they might be.

"Probably a flying type coming this way," he shrugged, and started to try to walk away again before she caught his hand.

"No." Something large was coming, she could sense it. There was no way she was letting him walk right into some kind of trap.

"Di?" someone asked from nearby.

"Featherless, quick beats, to heavy for a bug..." she analyzed. "Flygon." At the name, Gijinka jumped into action, packing up their things, beginning to disperse as quickly as they could. Sid was quite ready to make himself scarce as well, but Di didn't seem about to let go. "Help me fight."

"Oh heck no," he retorted, struggling to escape her grip. "You can get yourself caught, but I'm getting out of here!"

At the mention of Flygon Nina instantly lit up.

"Flygon...we aren't going to have much chance then...." She said to the Gijinka who just walked over to her.

"If we go quickly we might be able to outrun them. But you'd have to be crazy to stay and fight and even crazier to think you'd actually win" She said thinking back on the last time she encountered the cops.

"Are you really going to try and fight them? You're just going to get caught!" she declared to the new Gijinka.

Di considered it a moment, looking a bit frustrated. She knew she had type advantage to the Flygon, but then again, it was a two way street. Her hope was that having another dragon by her side would allow the two to take down the pokemon, but... the Chinchou gijinka was right, it was incredibly risky. With a huff, she instead released the Noibat, who snatched back his wrist and ran off with considerable speed, his wings carrying him to almost skim over the ground. At least she could be assured he would be quiet while making his escape.

"Let's go," she said instead to the Lanturn, turning to gather her small messenger bag of things. "We'll regather later, if you'd like to come with me." She offered. There wasn't much time to wait here, the Flygon was now close enough that it's wing flaps were now barely audible to more ordinary ears.

"Um. Sure" She stammers. Surprised that she didn't have to do more to convince this Gijinka.
Calming down she stopped glowing.
"Which way do we go exactly? I saw a side canal we could maybe go down close by but I have no idea where it goes out to. I just got here today.... or maybe we could go out of the sewers they wouldn't expect that," looking at this Gijinka "though i'm not sure you're dressed to hid up there...." She says pulling her hood down.
"Up to you but we gotta go quick."

Di already had an escape route prepared in her head, knowing these sewers almost like the back of her hand. She simply grabbed the hand of the other girl and took off, charging full speed ahead. She took the side tunnel, turning sharply, and continuing in a rather confusing series of twists and different forks, at times using some simple planks that had been laid out to cross the central canal to the other bank. At a full on sprint the location seemed pretty far from where they had been, but it was maybe about half a mile away at most when she finally came to a skidding stop. In the wall was a rather large crack, just big enough for two people to squeeze into and not be seen.

"You first," Di nodded to the crack, breathing heavy but not nearly as winded as someone who sprinted that far should have been. The sound of the Flygon still seemed to be following them, and was even closer than before. "Calm your breath. It does not see well down here."

"I... I can't. I'm sorry." She said thinking about her *glowing problem*.
"If i get too nervous i'll lead them right to us." She says gesturing to the antennae on her head, "I'm like a giant beckon. You hide and I'll run ahead. Worst comes to worse i'll distract them and you won't get caught."
Without giving the girl time to speak she ran off at full speed into the dark. Finding herself back at the main canal she took a deep breath and jumped in. She knew the Flygon was close on her tail and even thought it was disgusting she knew she'd have a better chance of escaping being in the disgusting water. As the Flygon might not be willing to go in.

As she lay there under the water she could now hear wingbeats and footsteps approaching. She pulled her light source deep into her jacket and did her best to keep herself calm, knowing that if she was any more nervous there was no way she would avoid capture.

Di was about to stop the girl, but she took off before the Deino even had a chance to argue. With the Flygon so close, she had no choice but to slip into the crevice, holding her breath as the dragon approached. It didn't seem to notice her, nor did the human that followed it on the bank across from her...

Up on the surface, Sid was sitting cross legged on the hood of the police car. Once again, Dick had forgotten to leave it unlocked for him. The young Noibat had his head bowed, lavender hair hanging in his face, and small wings folded against his back. He was absently picked at the dirt in his bare toes. He hoped that at least any company that joined them on the ride back to the station wouldn't be any of the Gijinka he had met down there. He always hated it when the recognized him, and either called him a traitor, or try to reassure him that it was alright, since he didn't have a choice. It always made him even more frustrated...

Down below, Dick was following with quick footsteps after his Flygon, looking rather frustrated. It was unlikely Sid had failed to obey any of his commands, but perhaps the location signalling was off? Usually, by now they'd at least find a clump of fleeing Gijinka... Something was different about this time. Perhaps someone in the clump had given them more forewarning? Probably something with future sight or some crazy hearing ability. He'd have to keep an eye out on the city for the appearance of any potential gijinka that could be the cause. The sooner he could catch them, the more efficiently he could go about his job.

Finally, Whisper had found something, and was currently rounding them up, almost playing with them as they zipped around, keeping them in a constant loop of trying to run away. Dick waited for a clear line up, aaaaand... he sent the metal disk flying, watching as it nailed the Gijinka in the shoulder, and proceeded to wrap around and lock into place on their upper arm. As he came closer, he could see the form of what appeared to be a Bunneary girl, only about ten years old, sobbing in place and trying desperately to take off the device.

"Stop that," he ordered, and watch the girl's hand fall away as she looked over at him with large frightened eyes. "You'll be coming with me." Defeated, the girl hung her head and walked behind the cop, in front of the flygon. None of the three seemed to notice anything odd about the sewage water where the Laturn hid, nor did they pay any mind to the crack in the wall with Di. One was all they came for this time, and it was all they would leave with.

Nina was lying in the water right next to where the young bunneary girl was captured and she was furious. She'd often managed to avoid capture like this but there had never been others with her. Seeing that little bunneary Gijinka being taken away had her fuming. She was not going to allow this to happen.

"Maybe if i can get my hands on that controller device i can disable it" ran thru her head. It was a prospect she had never considered until this point, one that fascinated her.
She waited until the cop was out of sight and then slowly began sneaking after them. Hoping that she could follow them to the surface and snatch the device right off of him and rescue the young Gijinka. and if not maybe at least she could figure out if there were others working with him. Or just steal another sandwich.... "I need to get one with mayo this time." She thought.

Di listened to the group disappear as well, seeming rather emotionless to the sad scene, however. Although she appeared rather young, it was if she was already jaded to such scenarios. She could also hear the sound of the sewage river being disturbed by something beneath the surface, which she could assume to be the Chinchou. She was... following them? The Deino didn't dare make a sound or try to stop her, but hoped that whatever the girl had planned might not end with her in the same state as the young Buneary...

Dick led the girl to one of the sewer exits, up the ladder and pushing away the pot hole cover and pulling himself up into the alley. After helping the Buneary up, he watched Whisper fly up and out, and retracted the pokemon back into her ball. Just a few feet away was the white unmarked car, where Sid was still sitting rather dejectedly on the hood. The human pulled out his keys and unlocked the car, not even bother to apologize for forgetting to leave it unlocked again. The Noibat looked up at the click of the locks opening, obviously relieved that the Buneary girl was unfamiliar.

"Make friends down there kid?" Dick asked passively as he escorted the girl to the back of the car. He wasn't completely blind to the Gijinka's emotions, but generally, he just didn't care.

"N-no..." Sid grumbled his reply. "I'm not that stupid."

"Well you sure as heck look it," Dick retorted sharply, as he opened the door to the drivers side. "Just get in already, I have to get back to do some paperwork before the office closes."

"Yes sir." The Noibat stood up, stretched, and headed for the passenger door, before stopping as he realized the pot hole cover had never been replaced. He didn't need an order to know that Dick would be all over him if he let the cop make a simple mistake like that, so he trotted over to seal it back up.

Nina was about 2/3 up the ladder when she began hearing noises up above coming towards the Sewer grate.
"Darn it" She thought to herself. If someone got too close there was no way she would be able to escape without attacking them.
As froze and waited to see if someone would get close and sure enough a creature appeared over the top of the grate. Not waiting to see who they were or if they saw her, she fired off a Spark at the creature before sliding down the ladder hopeing to hide in the canal again.
Diving into the water she was extremely disappointed that she wasn't able to save the bunneary girl but got incredibly satisfaction knowing that whoever she hit with her attack was probably lying on the ground in a paralized heap. The thought made her laugh.
She supposed she'd wait until she was sure whatever she attacked wasn't coming after her and then go and try to meet up with the Deino Gijinka she had originally been with.

Sid wasn't exactly fond of getting sparked in the face, but his glimpse of the familiar shape on the ladder was even more concerning. Jumping backwards a bit and shaking out his wings, trying to escape the slight tingle of static, he clamped his mouth shut and did his best to keep his face from sight. If he was lucky, the girl was too frightened to really look at him, or if nothing else he might have been silhouetted by the bright sun and she wouldn't be able to verify for certain that it was him.

However, he picked up the sound of a splash down below, and assumed she'd leaped back into the disgusting sewage water. Carefully peaking over the pot hole, he made sure there was no one there before he pushed the cover back over it. After that he quickly returned to the car and climbed in.

"What was that?" Dick asked as he pulled away.

"Someone followed you," Sid grumbled. "Zapped me when I went to but the cover back down." With that the rest of the car ride to the station was tense and silent.

Di was already recollecting some of the group, quite a few gijinka naturally drawn to her for her incredible hearing and strength. One gijinka, a young man just a year or two older than her, was offering food and flushing a nice shade of red. However, the girl seemed oblivious and simply took the offering and scarfed it down in record time. Seeing he wasn't getting through, the young man wandered a little ways away while others came wandering in, setting back up their small spaces for trading and living.

Yuri sighed she was visiting the city because her parents had told her that she had to meet real people for once in her life , so she went inside the city and she walked around until she saw a place where people were trading and living 'hmm i wonder whats over there' she thought to herself before she walked over there and she didn't noticed Di and she bumped right into her "...ah im sorry" she said before her stomach growled "oh..." she sighed then she rubbed her belly softly then she looked up and she blushed deeply "...i'm sorry" she whispered to herself, but she said it loud enough to where Di could hear her.

Nina, finding the coast to be clear, slowly came back out of the sewage water.
She was hoping to go find the Deino girl but realized that she was completely disgusting from hiding in the sewer water.
She was going to have to go to the surface if she was going to get clean.

Sneaking out of the sewer she managed to travel back to the marina and clean herself up in the ocean (one of the benefits to hiding in a port town.) After getting fully clean, she pulled out the wallets she had pilfered from earlier and figured out how much money she had acquired. Looking at it she realized she easily had found enough to get some decent food as well as a bag to cary her supplies. She realized after hiding in the sewage water that it might have a separate item to hid her stuff in other than her hoodie. Pulling her hood down and putting on her sunglasses she went to the closest corner store and purchased a cheap side saddle bag, (And stole a box of waterproof satchels , and a new t-shirt plane blue with bubbles on the front... weather she'd wear it she wasn't sure). She then went past the sandwich place she was at earlier and bought 6 sandwiches (and stole the mayo bottle). She was extremely happy she was able to blend in well enough to actually go shopping up top, thinking back to most of the other Gijinka she knows who would be captured the minute they went to the surface.

She then, spoils in tow climbed back down into the sewer. Feeling her way thru the dark she finally made her way back to the deino girl she was with earlier. Who was standing with a new Gijinka she hadn't met yet.

"hey.... Oh um hello. Who might you be?" She asked this new Gijinka.

Di looked at the girl who had bumped into her, clearly a new comer to the sewers. In fact, she actually smelled slightly fresh, a pleasant change from the stench of waste. "Forest folk..." she muttered to herself. However, she could clearly hear the girl's stomach rumble and the little pained sounds of hunger. Di walked over to one of the nearby gijinka who had just set up his shop already. Picking up a sandwich, which he seemed more than happy to give to her without cost, she trotted quickly back to the newcomer and held out the sandwich.

"Here," she said simply, or perhaps a bit expectantly. "You've come far. The city is dangerous, but you can rest here."

Seeing the Chinchou from earlier approach again, Di tilted her head, studying the sound of the girl a moment. It sounded like she had an extra bag now, and she smelled faintly of salt water. Must have washed herself in the ocean. At least it meant she didn't have time to get the bag, go for a swim, and get caught. She had been a bit concerned when she heard the crackle of electricity ealier...

Yuri looked over at the other Gijinka who appeared to be nice "um....I'm...Yuri..." she replied in a shy voice then she looked down "who are you" she asked with a slight smile on her face. she then looked around then she saw she had got some stuff

"hey whats that stuff you got there " she asked the other Gijinka

She then looked over to the other Gijinka and she smiled slightly then she took the sandwich then she took at bite out of it.

"Yummy" she said with a smile "thanks...and..why is it so dangerous...i thought others would be nice to each other.." she said with a frown

"Oh Hi Yuri." She cooed.
"I'm Nina."
"Oh and this," she said gesturing to her bag. "just some stuff I got. Wanna Sand... oh nevermind" she said seeing the sandwich she was currently eating.

"also," she said looking at the Deino girl "it's good to see you're safe. I was kinda worried."

"Di." She replied simply, before tilting her head at the forest girl's other question. "Humans, of course." How could anyone not understand the dangers of living in the city? The cops hated them here, they were at constant risk of capture, and for many there was no hope of ever getting out. The system of tunnels ended before the edge of the city, and trying to make it to the woods from there required a good disguise. Perhaps Di could have made it out at some point with a good disguise, but something always told her this was her place, where she could best help others, and where she could be on the front lines when gijinkas finally decided to fight back.

She then turned to face Nina, frowning. "That's my line. You followed the officer. I heard the Spark..." Without much explanation, she reached up and gave the Chinchous a good conk on the top of the head, not too hard, but enough to feel it. "Don't be stupid."

"Hey!" she yelped. The hit wasn't that hard but it made her antenai twitch in a very unconfortable and painful manner inside her jacket as they reflexively moved and caused her zipper to dig into her chest.
"that hurt" She scowled at Di.
"I was just trying to help.... I know how to handle myself. And besides after i got some nice stuff...." She said pulling out a couple of the sandwiches she had gotten from up above.
"Like these. Wanna try one?" She offered to both of the Gijinka. "I have Mayo."

Yuri looked around then she looked back at Nina and she started to stare at the sandwiches.
"um...no thanks im full " she replied with a small smile.
she then saw Nina's zipper digging into her chest
"hey Nina are you ok" she said in a worried tone
Yuri didn't like seeing other people in pain then she looked back at Di and she frowned "oh....Humans...well were i'm from humans are not around there."

"Better to learn from pain now than learn the harder way later," she retorted, rather unapologetic. She had a fair point. Too many times had she seen friends, parents and love ones try to follow or help their captured loved one, and ended up captured themselves. It might have been a bit mean, but so is a parent punishing a child to keep them safe. Offered a sandwich, she shook her head in a 'no thanks' gesture.

"Neither of you are from these sewers," she stated simply, "The humans raid almost every day, if not more than once a day. If we are careful, they only walk out with one or maybe two. Rescue missions have never been successful, only get more of us caught that way." Di swiveled her head around towards the other gijinka, who all seemed rather solemn, all far too worn for their young ages. "One day we can make the humans regret, but it will not happen in ones and twos." Her voice was firm, determined, and hopeful.

Yuri nodded then she looked at them and she wrapped her arms around both of them "hey...guys...we can do..it..we...can stay out of those evil pokeballs and we will be the ones to not get captured" she smiled then she pulled both of the girls close "hehe yeah we are gonna need an army to defeat them..." she smiled at them

Nina instantly squirmed in the embrace worried she was going to shock the other two gijinka. Finally separating herself she said "An army? Fighting against the humans? Are you two crazy? Sure we could take on one or two of them but all of them?" Nina said taking a step back. "Have either of you even been up in the city's? There are a lot of them. And it looks like this city especially has a lot of cops. Especially if there are raids almost every day. I've been to a lot of different towns and I have to say this is the first where raids are that common.". She frowned.
"There has to be a better way. Sure we're strong but there are so many of them. And one wrong move and we'd be caught."
"Now with that said.... when do we get started?!" She said excitedly.

Yuri looked at Nina and she couldn't help but hug her again because of what she had just said "nina...your so crazy but your right...when do we start " she winked then she looked around "soon...soon i hope we start " she said with a small blush

Yuri felt the shock and she shook her head then she drooped
"its...ok" she felt sad that she shocked her
"Nina....can i get to know you" she looked at her and she started to turn a little red

Nina was taken aback by the question. No one had every really wanted to get to know her. And she had never stuck around long enough to get to know others. It was honestly a bit of a scary concept to her.
"Um. I suppose yes." She smiled.
"though honesty i'm not sure how long i'm going to be staying around. I usualy don't stay in one place very long and this city seems especially dangerous. But i'll stay for as long as i feel it's safe to and help out. So i'm sure we can get to know each other by then." She babbled quickly.
She was worried she would hurt the Gijinka's feelings if she said no but who knows how long she was going to stay .

Yuri smiled then she nodded "yeah thats fine..im not staying here ether..because i don't like being in a place that has a lot of trainers and humans " she smiled then she looked at her "um so Nina..what do you wanna do?" she asked with a smile

"Um..." right as she was about to say something her stomach growled.
"um. would you mind if i sit down and eat something before we do anything?" she said looking around.
Looking at Di she said "is there a good place I could trade some of my sandwiches for some other food? Their good i'd just really like to eat something else for a change." she smiled.

Yuri nodded then she looked at her "oh i think i may have saw a place ...i think they had alway kinds of foods " she smiled at Nina and she
pointed to a vendor with a girl selling food with her father

Di seemed a bit surprised, not moving much and just allowed the girl to move her around a bit. Although she rocked around on her feet, she never really lost balance. Hearing them so eager to help brought a rare smile to her face, though. She ducked away and crossed her arms, trying to look serious again. "It's very dangerous," she confirmed. "Not just getting captured, but there are some very high level pokemon, and some trainers who woudn't care our ultimate ending. Just three of us rushing in... it's stupid. For now, if you'd like, you can remain here and train with me. There are a few around who are fairly strong, and make good sparring partners." As she said this, she nodded to a Rhyhorn she had trained with just earlier that day. "Although..." as if on cue, she looked over to see a groggy looking Zubat boy trudging over. She stepped away to exchange a few soft words. "It's my bedtime. You are welcome to join me, I'm sure others who are awake now might be willing to share their bed rolls. and sleeping bags if you do not have one of your own. In fact, it is expected around here that most sleeping equipment will serve two people. One awake, one asleep at a time." With that, she procured a rather warm looking sleeping bag, along with a very small self inflating mat. "You don't have to, though. Many of us sleep at odd times here, since we have no light."

"You're talkative today," the Zubat commented. "You're not usually one to get very involved with newbie business. Anyway, I'm Ban. If you want I can also show the ropes around here too. We have some regulars that never really change." His large ears continuously swiveled around, and he kept his arms crossed against the purple tank top that looked much too small for him. Over his eyes and wrapped around his head was a white bandage, which made his uneven, choppy blue hair cut even more obvious. However, he seemed genuinely friendly.

Yuri looked over at ben and she held out her hand "um nice to meet you?" she smiled then she frowned when he called them Newbies "hey we are not newbies we are just new to the city" she frowned then she looked at Him again "so are you gonna be our trainer or is Di gonna do that" she asked with a smile.

"Um" Nina said.
"Di, i'll take you up on that sleeping offer." She smiled. Looking at yuri she said "you go on ahead and have fun. I'll find you later"

Yuri drooped then she looked down "wait i wanna come too" she walked after Nina and Di "i wanna cuddle with you" she whispered to herself then she tackle hugged nina and Di

Ban blinked, then shrugged, instead walking away to get some food from one of the vendors, like Di receiving it without any payment. It seemed those sentries around here were provided with necessities in return for keeping others safe.

Di, on the other hand, nearly face planted forward when tackled, but managed to catch her balance. She led them to a small area where it seemed some others had spread out their own sleeping gear, There were a few unoccupied around, so she spread hers between two that were empty. Instead of saying anything, she quite literally fell straight down, face first onto the mat from where she stood, not even bothering to climb into her sleeping bag. By the time her face hit the ground, she was already asleep, snoring lightly.

Siegfried's life had never been glamourous, but he'd been relatively content in his previous one. The lush green and pleasant gales of the outside world, the crystalline niche he and his family shared, and the pungent argillic scent of his subterranean home had no comparison of this place of nightmare whose stench resembled the rot of dying hopes and dreams of which its residents held. He had come to the endless tunnel with wide eyes and high hopes, but the days (which had quickly melded into each other) voided him of colour and emotion, leaving him as dreary and grey as the sewers themselves.
He spent much of his time with a lonely stack of books for his company. He couldn't say he could understand what the words meant, yet they still withheld vibrant colours and scribblings which he treasured preciously. He stored them away under a loose tile out of the way from the rest of their rudimentary camp where they'd be dry and, more importantly, safe. He ate very little and slept very little and, when he did, dreamt of very little.
Siegfried was coiled around himself on a moderately comfortable cot, chin cushioned by his arms which were, in turn, propped on his lower half. He was past the point of being tired, his eyes leaden and unyielding. He watched the newcomers who approached the resting area spiritlessly while a Munchlax Gijinka snored by his side.

(long plot driving post ahoy)

On the surface, Sid stepped out of the bathroom, his clothes now more appropriate for the office than down in the sewers. Dick was just returning from handing over the Buneary gijinka. Surprisingly, however, he had not come alone. Instead, a trader, darkly tanned skin with dark stubble and hair as well as severe crows feet and other heavy wrinkles, was following after him with hands deep in the pockets of his blue jeans. Sid looked between the two, curious but wary.

"You'll be on loan for the rest of the day," Dick told him simply. "Take your sewer clothes." Sid nodded and packed the clothes he had just changed out of into his back pack.

"He's yours. Just be careful, if you do anything to blow his cover..."

"Yeah yeah, whatever," the guy dismissed him, before taking the small hand held device that would give him control of the gijinka. "We'll have him back by the end of the day."

With that, the trader grabbed Sid rather roughly by the backpack handle and threw him forward, starting him stumbling in the direction he wanted. The two left the office, where outside a small gang of raiders was waiting. "We've got the boy, now lets get us a good batch," he declared with a smirk. The group gave a rallying cry, before getting on the backs of various pokemon and speeding off. The trader carried Sid on the back of a Staraptor, following the others to a sewer entrance.

"Now get down there and find us a hot spot!" the man ordered as he shoved Sid of the bird, sending him tumbling to the ground.

"Shouldn't I change first?" He asked, tapping the control device seemed to stick out a bit under the tight button up shirt.

"Don't worry about it, you won't be there long," the man snickered. "You've been down there today already, haven't you? You must have learned something about them already. Care to share?" The man pressed a button on the controller, giving Sid a hearty zap and making him wince.

"Th-there's a Deino girl down there, she can hear better than anyone I've met. She recognized a flygon by it's wing beats..." he gave up the information through gritted teeth. There were some murmurs amongst the raiders.

"Interesting... Sounds like we're going in on young pokemon, lads!" the traider declared, hopping off Staraptor and instead pulling out a Carvanha. The others pulled out some rather high leveled, but unevolved pokemon. "Now get in there, find us that girl and her friends!" After another zap, he opened the cover to the sewer and dropped down, softening his landing with his wings. With that, he took off running away from the sounds of the raiders barking orders. Behind him, the trader dropped down, then dipped into the sewage with his Carvanha, who swam a good ways behind the Noibat gijinka, out of sight, and occasionally ducking under the water. At various other points, raiders prepared to enter the sewer, their own young pokemon waiting to enter.

When the Noibat found the small clump of Gijinka, the trader stayed well behind and out of sight, but surprisingly, it was not the Deino who greeted him, but a blind Zubat. "Woah there kid, you're running pretty fast, everything okay?" Ban asked, rather suspiciously. Sid was out of breath though, panting with his hands on his knees.

"N-no..." he choked out between gasps. He opened his mouth, struggling to say more, but he doubled over rather suddenly, an intense zap from the control belt bad enough to feel as if it was scorching his skin.

"Woah hey! You o-" Ban cut off, his echolocation bounced off a metalic piece around the kid's waist where his shirt had ridden up. His face turned from shock to a scowl, as his ears perked up to the sound of wings and moving sewage coming from all directions.

"RAID!" he screamed for all to hear, causing panic to immediately ensue. The Zubat wasn't sure what he could do with them already being surrounded, and knew the only way to escape was going to be blending with the chaos. Instead, he decided to take out his frustration with the Gijinka on the ground in front of him, grabbing the kid by the throat, making the already pained Gijinka cough and choke, flailing weakly but desperately.

The hands lifted when Di suddenly appeared, having woken up to the scream. She pulled Ban off the boy and stood between the two.

"Get out of here," she growled.

"He-" Ban started to argue.

"GO." She ordered forcefully. The Zubat growled, but flew up and took off after others down one of the tunnels. She turned to look at the others who had stuck around with her. "If you wanted a fight, now will be the time." A sudden wave of sludge came up out of the basin as the trader's Carvanha used Surf. Di dodged just in time, now facing the attacker, who still had attached the controller for Sid to his wrist. The strong metal would not be easily moved or destroyed...

((aye aye))

The word torn from the mouth of a cerulean stranger was the trigger to cause an already tense Siegfried to explode into action. His lower half unconsciously untangled itself with a display of frantic thrashing before instinctively shaking his insufflating companion awake. The Munchlax boy, who must've been a year or two his junior, woke groggily before the charcoal pupils of his eyes widened at the revelation of their dire situation. Without thanking him, the boy struggled to his feet and began scrambling in a direction opposite to the commotion.
Siegfried glanced over his shoulder feverishly, eyes scanning the placid tunnel for a chance for escape. The luminous organ that pulsed light throughout his lower body ultimately made him a living beacon, which meant that his only choice was to flee faster than they could catch him.
The sound of a Pidgeotto crooning its shrieking song sent chills down his spine and he hesitated. He might've not had a chance to escape, after all.

At the Call of a Raid Nina sprang into action. Seeing the Glowing Gijinka near her knew that he might be having more trouble then she was and quickly ran over.
"do you want to run or fight?" she asked the Gijinka. "If you wanna run you can take my sweater, it will block your light so they won't be able to see you if you wear it like a skirt." She said holding out her sweater. the bulbs on the end of her antennae were glowing slightly and it was taking a lot of concentration to keep them at a low voltage. "be quick about it. i wanna go over and help the others." she grumbled. and readied an electro ball for the first creature that came out of the tunnels, not caring if they would be friend or foe.
