The first moments i was awake i remember humans in white coats and two other with me i looked down at my green talon like feet then one of the humans put something in my cheek i felt heat run through me then everything went black it stayed black for a long time when a rush flew through me i looked around a wide open area full of green then heard a scream i looked to see a woman she had light skin and brown hair and her eyes were very blue she looked terrified she held a red and white ball in her hand
"P-Pokémon" she shrieked i looked around was i the Pokémon she seemed scared of i hadn't done anything i approached her she backed up what was wrong when i heard noises other creatures surrounded us the woman looked around terrified then the creatures attacked us so i fought back slashing at them till they backed off but some were still on the woman attacking her i slashed them off when the leader of the creatures rammed me we stared each other down he yelled at me and i yelled back he looked at me then away calling its buddies and they ran away i looked back at the woman she looked shaken but not scared "y-you saved me" she said i looked at her not totally understanding she put her hand to my face well she should have but in that moment i noticed i had a helmet on my head and realizing it was so uncomfortable i began to yell clawing at it smashing it in to the tree the woman grabbed one of the spikes on my collar "stop what are you doing" she asked i looked at her and just yelled she looked me over "you poor thing did someone put this on you" she asked i looked away she grabbed the mask trying to open it using all her strength then stopping panting "no that's not coming off" she said "I'm sorry you saved me and i can't do a thing to save you" she said petting the fin on my head "hey you wanna come home with me" she asked i looked at her and rubbed my masked face against hers "ok come with me" she said and i began to follow her "oh I'm Artalin do you have a name" she asked i tilted my head what's a name "i guess not how's about i name you hmm how's about Zelgadis"
"Zel" i said
"oh you like it so good" she said we came to a town she let me in the walls holding one of the spikes on my collar keeping me close but i would have never left her side all the people in town looked terrified of me hiding like i was a monster we got to a house and she led me in side there was a man inside
"Hey Artie how are" he started then saw me freaking almost knocking everything of the counter in his fear "what is that" he yelled
"Paul this is" Artalin started
"Is that a Pokémon why is it in our home" Paul yelled
"Paul this Pokémon saved my life" Artalin yelled
"You went out again i keep telling you to stop its dangerous without a weapon" Paul said holding her close
"I'm ok thanks to this guy" Artalin said
"Yes but did you have to bring it home" Paul asked
"i don't think he has a place to go" Artalin said taking out the red and white ball "this thing fell on my head while i was painting and when i pressed the center it opened and this guy came out" Paul took the ball
"A whole Pokémon fit in here" he asked
"Yes somehow trust me Paul I'm sure Zelgadis will make a fine addition to our little family" Artalin said
"Zelgadis you named him after a legendary hero" Paul asked
"I thought he looked like a hero of some kind and he's a good boy" Artalin said hugging me i snuggled up to her
"So what you wanna adopt him like he's some sort of human child" Paul asked
"Yes i do" Artalin said petting my head fin "how's about it buddy you want me to be your mommy" she asked i looked at her to show her i was happy and so i began my life in the unknown region i now called home. Artalin and me soon became inseparable when she slept i would lay on her when she shopped i would help carry the bags when it got cold she gave me a shirt and pants and even a lovely cape to shield me from my cold and when she went out to paint i would be there to protect her she was my mom and i was her loyal son. Paul never warmed to me i guess i still scared him but he loved his wife enough that he let her have her way people in the town shied away from me but over time they stopped cowering and hiding content to just ignore me."it so sad more Pokémon aren't like you" Mom said as she painted Pokémon from afar "your such lovely beasts but most are so horrible" she said i looked out at the Pokémon who were in the clan sharing food among them self's and drinking "do you wonder if there's a place where humans and Pokémon live together like we do" she asked i looked at her and sort of shrugged "wouldn't that be nice" she said finishing the painting i looked at it once again she captured the scene perfectly she picked up her things and we headed home Mom walked off to put her painting somewhere safe i wandered over to Paul's desk to see the red and white ball i often wondered about it where did it come from how did i fit in it who put me in it i had so many questions but i guess the answers didn't really matter even if i knew them it wouldn't change anything i liked my home here Mom came back in the room sitting on the couch i jumped up with her my top half resting on her lap she pet my chest and back we just stayed there for a bit till Paul returned "how was your delivery to the castle" Mom asked
"Fine no attacks" Paul said
"If you're worried about attacks you could always take Zel" Mom said i looked over to Paul
"look i don't need him and none of the townies with me would even come if i took him" Paul said i looked down laying my head back on Mom's lap we stayed together till night when Mom and Paul went to their room i followed when Mom looked back
"No not tonight buddy me and papa need some alone time" she said i tilted my head
"Don't call me papa to him" Paul said Mom looked back and smiled at him
"look just sleep on the couch tonight buddy" she said then closed the door behind her it felt so weird she never locked me out off the room before i hopped on the couch and snuggled up but it wasn't as nice without moms warm body i began hearing noise from the room moans and yelps i felt a bit scared but Moms voice didn't sound like she was in danger m-maybe humans do something like that i stayed awake till they stopped exchanging i love you's i relaxed falling asleep myself
