Writing Prompts: Writing Prompts: 11

by RenzFlintrock

RenzFlintrock Todays prompt is:

"You're not as evil as people think you are."

"No. I'm much worse."
The figure jumped down from the roof of the building, cape flowing and billowing behind dramatically as it dropped in front of the two young men. Their eyes widened in surprise and fear, and they drew their weapons.

They didn't stand a chance.

The one who had reacted more quickly, snatching up his club and bringing it into a ready position, was the first to go down. With a swish of the dark cloak, the figure dropped to a crouch and a leg shot out. It hit the boy in the knee, and as he fell back he bumped into his companion, knocking him off-balance. The figure was back up to full height, and with a swish a dagger same spinning out from the folds of the cloak and hit the one who was still upright, but off-balance, right in the middle of his forearm. His own dagger clattered to the ground, and with a screech the young man clutched at his arm. The one on the ground started to rise, but before he could even get an arm up he felt the impact of a boot in his stomach. The breath was forcefully blasted out of him, and he clutched at the point of impact. The boot came in again, this time slamming his head. After the first sharp pain he drifted off into blissful unconsciousness. The other man was still clutching at the dagger and whimpering as he tried to draw it out, but he froze as the cloaked figure turned to face him. The hood fell back, and he recognized the person who had so quickly disabled himself and his comrade.

"R-Reesa...?"

"You're coming with me."

"Wh-"

"Shut up."

"Eppok sent you."

"Yes."

They locked eyes for a moment. The man was clearly in pain, but he pulled the dagger out of his arm. Reesa tensed, expecting him to throw and run, but instead he merely handed it to her.

"You're not as evil as people think you are."

"No. I'm much worse."

"No, you're not. I'm sure Eppok wants us dead for what we know, but you're choosing to bring us in alive. I don't call that evil, whatever people might think. I don't doubt that you would steal from the richest castles without a care, but I don't think you're a killer."

Reesa was silent. She motioned for the man to put out his hands before him, and she quickly bound them. He winced as it put pressure on his wounded arm, but there was nothing he could do. He couldn't fight or flee, and he was resigned to his fate. He watched as Reesa moved over to his unconscious companion and bound his arms as well. He sighed. This was not how he had wanted things to go.

@EeviumZ I’m doing a daily prompt responding challenge on a community called the Young Writer’s Workshop. I dunno where they’re getting them.

Heh. Have you seen the previous ones? (Some of them aren’t in the folder.)

This seems really interesting! Where are you getting these prompts?

Also, this specific prompt kinda reminds me of the Genocide Route. xD
