Story time with Uncle Jack: Why I can't sleep at night

by Ethereal_Whispers

Ethereal_Whispers A new series of just random horror stories that I'm writing hopefully to give you chills. So are you ready for a story with Jack.

A story that I bet will fail at giving you chills.
I remember it like it was yesterday, but in fact it was about 4 years ago. I had finally got
used to my first apartment here in the city, I could only afford a lower end one, but luckily I had two roommates. One was a stoner who vaped his name was Mike and always had some drug in his system, and the other was a girl named Jessica, who I'm still close with to this day, but one night I was the only home. I don't remember why, but they were gone. I think the stoner was at some junkie get-together, and I honestly have no clue where the other was. But I was the only one home.

It was around 10:45 p.m. just watching one all time favorite show of all time on Netflix, Death Note. I remember that mainly because while watching my power kept flickering. I remember it being quite annoying but eventually the lights went out and stayed out, not thinking anything of it I just went to grab a flashlight, but as I walked towards the cabinet to get one I heard the floor creak as I could just barely see something move just out of my peripheral vison. I felt my heart drop and I broke into a cold sweat. I turned my head but didn't see anything it scared the shit out of me. I continued making my way to the cabinet and grabbed the flashlight. I turned it on and looked around the room, after a minute of dread I found that there was nothing. While you think that that would be a relief but it only worsened my psyche and freaked me out even more. I sighed with dread as I made my way towards the bedrooms, I turned into the the hallway and what I saw made me break into a cold sweat. Down the hall I saw a man wearing all black with a hoodie pulled over his head, he looked at me and pulled something sharp out of his pocket, I started breath heavily. In this kind of situation it helps to show authority, so I tried to say, "What the fuck do you want?" In a demanding voice, but I ended up stuttering and showing weakness only saying, "Wh... what the fu-." He started walking towards me, and in a flash of idiocy and just trying to give myself a few extra seconds I took the flashlight I was holding and threw it at the figure. I... was... a bad shot and missed by a mile. He charged at me the object in his hand raised like he was willing to kill me. I ran to the door of my apartment and the guy was close behind, once I got to the door I realized that it was locked and with him practically breathing down my neck I panicked and grabbed the lamp next to the door and hit him as he got close, he fell to the ground as I finally unlocked the door to run out, but the man followed me out. I ran down the stairs but tripped on myself and fell down the rest of them, from the foggy memory after that I think what happened I'm pretty sure is that the man ran down towards my and he tried to stab my, I remember that he had managed to stab my stomach, he pulled it out and tried to stab my neck and it was blurry but I had managed to throw him off, he fell down the other stair case, I stumbled to my film and stumbled down while holding onto the rail, at the bottom I tripped on him but luckily someone saw me and contacted emergency services. Unfortunately I fell unconscious and the man was gone by the time the authorities got there. And now even though I'm engaged with Jessica and have just turned 23 but I still think I see the figure at the end of my hallway no matter where I am, and since then, I've installed a security system on my current home. And every night right as I slip into sleep I feel as if I hear someone whisper into me ear, "See you again real soon."
