Walrein - male, Adamant, likes to fight
The Walrein line are some of the only land-dwelling Pokemon in the far northern ocean, and they’re one of Vivi’s favorites to study. Walrein are capable of travelling vast distances to hunt prey, and can smash blocks of ice five times their size with their tusks. They can survive in extremely cold environments thanks to a thick coat of blubber.
Vivi’s tagged more than twelve Walrein with the help of her team, both to track and identify them as they move around their habitat. Catching Walrein is prohibited for Unovans, but monitoring them in the wild isn’t. The Walrein Vivi’s currently the most fond of is a large bull. It’s not the leader of their herd, but it’s certainly trying to be. Once the current leader dies (age determines place in the hierarchy) Vivi’s tagged one will take over, and UOAA will be able to see how different the leader of a Walrein herd’s activity is from the lower-ranking members.
Seadra has attempted to interact with Walrein several times to assist with tagging, but male Walrein are notoriously territorial and do not get along with other species. Particularly those perceived to be kidnapping Spheal and Sealeo at random!
