Random Writings: Undyne Fight Notes/Directions

Iceblossom I was battling Undyne, and kept failing miserably. So, I decided to watch someone else battle her and I wrote down the attacks. This may be really confusing, so I apologized for that. Anyways, I hope this helps anyone who is stuck on that fight! (This is the NEUTRAL ROUTE battle, so if you are doing Genocide or True Pacifist, this will probably not be as helpful as it would be for someone playing the Neutral route. Without further adieu, here are the Undyne fight notes/directions.

Undyne fight:


  1. 3 arrows from the top

  2. 2 from the top, 2 from the left, 2 from the right

  3. 1 arrow from the left, 1 from the right, 2 from the left, 2 from the right, 1 from the bottom

  4. 1 from the top, 1 from the right, 1 from the bottom, 1 from the left, 1 from the top, 1 from the right , 1 from the bottom, 1 form the right, 4 from the top

  5. 1 from the right, 2 from top, 1 from right, 2 top, 1 left, 1 top, 1 bottom

  6. 1 right, 1 top, 1 bottom, 1 right, 1 left, 1 top, 1 bottom, 1 right, 1 bottom, 1 top, you turn red and dodge the spear that comes from the left. Go to Mercy and click ‘escape.’ Keep running until Undyne catches up, and you go into battle once more. (There are backwards arrows, and the backwards arrows come towards the opposite side they came from first. Anticipate what side they will come towards you, then block them. Like usual.)

  7. 1 top, 1 bottom, 1 top, 2 bottom, 1 top, 1 bottom, 1 top

  8. (Ignore the slow moving arrow until the end of this attack, then you block it) THESE WILL GO FAST: 1 top, 1 right, 1 bottom, 1 top, 1 right, 1 bottom, 1 right (The slow moving one)

  9. 3 left, 3 right, 1 bottom, 1 top, 1 bottom, 1 top

  10. 1 right, 1 bottom, 1 left, 1 bottom, 1 left, 1 top, 1 bottom, 1 right, 1 left, 1 top, 1 right, you turn red and dodge the spear the comes from the left. Go to Mercy and click ‘escape.’ Keep running until Undyne catches up, and you go into battle for the third time.

  11. 1 right, 1 left, 1 right, 1 left, bottom backwards arrow (it goes to the left side)

  12. 1 left, 1 right, bottom backwards arrow, (it goes to the top) 1 bottom, 1 left, 1 right, 1 top, bottom backwards arrow (it goes to the top)

  13. 1 left, 1 bottom, 1 right, 1 top, right backwards arrow (it goes to the left), top backwards arrow (it goes to the bottom), right backwards arrow (doesn’t go anywhere) top backwards arrow (it goes nowhere)

  14. 2 right, 2 left, top backwards arrow (goes to bottom) 2 bottom, 2 top, 1 bottom, 1 right, 1 left

  15. 1 bottom, 2 right, left backwards, 2 bottom, 1 left, backwards right, 1 left,

  16. 1 right, 1 left, 1 top, 2 bottom, 2 left, 2 top, 1 left

  17. 7 left, along with 3 backward arrows, 1 right, backwards left, 2 right, backwards left,

  18. Right backwards arrow, 1 left, backwards top, 1 bottom, backwards left, 1 right, backwards bottom, 1 top, backwards left, 1 right, backwards top, 1 bottom, backwards left, 1 right, backwards bottom, 1 top, backwards right, 1 left, backwards top, 1 bottom, backwards left, 1 right, backwards bottom, 1 top, you turn red and dodge the spear the comes from the left. Go to Mercy and click ‘escape.’ Keep running until Undyne catches you again. Click ‘escape.’ Keep running until Papyrus calls you, telling you to go hang out with Undyne. Undyne catches you, escape. After that, you keep walking until you cross a bridge. Undyne passes out since it is very hot, and you pour water on her from the cooler. You MUST do this to get a Neutral ending/ Pacifist ending. Congrats! You beat Undyne. Now, go on with the rest of the game!
