Theo Wheeler was a strange kid to say the least. Never made friends in school, always kept himself isolated, and often was found visiting his parents grave. Two people he never got to meet.
His mother died after giving birth to him, and his father couldn't cope with the pain and... Kicked the bucket early. Theo was left to live with his uncle who tried his best to support the kid when he discovered the truth. Theo ached for the attention and memories so many other kids had, but to no prevail.
One day, while watering flowers upon his parents resting place, the earth began to shake and erupt. Suddenly, a bright shiny object arose from the surface, and his parents appeared on either side of it, as a ring floated in midair. His parents said nothing but We're sorry. Now take the ring, Theo. Before fading into the night. Entranced by what he'd just seen Theo desperately fumbled with the ring and slid it onto his finger.
Then, he was gone. Unable to see his own body. Moments after, his body reappeared, his hair sugar white, eyes coal black. He wore a strange tattered outfit and his skin glew a moon white. He saw the spirits of the dead wandering the graveyard, and a paranormal presence lingered in the air.
Letting out a burst of anger, fear, and confusion Theo suddenly formed a mini tornado around him. He panicked, trying to grasp the ground, only to create wind funnels pushing him further into the sky. Tapping the ring accidentally, he phased in and out of reality once more, appearing normal this time, and landed with a thud on the cold hard ground.
Soon after, several military-like trucks labeled M.P.E.T parked on the street of the graveyard, and men in body armor rushed out and began sprinting into the plain, surrounding Theo. He was hit by a soldier until falling over on the ground with tears forming in his eyes.
Right as the man was about to strike again, a blur of red burst in and set the guy on fire. Shortly after another man charged at Theo, but before his fist hit him, the mans arm became stuck from hitting Theo, and another boy grew into existence and knocked the man unconscious. Also, portals began forming around soldiers, pulling them in and reappearing high in the sky left to fall to the ground. Beams of electricity tazed others and a robotic knight touched down after flying in the air.
When the battle concluded, 4 heroes stood before him and invited Theo with open arms into the team, where they would provide everything he needed to get back on his feet, and more. Theo, for the first time in most likely his life, let out a smile.
