Isaac wandered around, attempting to find some sign of where he was. It was starting to get dark, and he wanted to be at Cerulean before nightfall. He saw a clearing behind some trees, with a bright light coming from it. A fire? He turned round the corner to see a Charmander. Oh, it was just his tail. He walked further around the corner to see the Charmander. "Oh, hi there little buddy. You almost had me worried for a secon- aaaaah!" As he turned the corner fully, he saw a pile of sticks, with a huge roaring fire on top of it! The heavy wind seemed to be blowing the tips of the flames nearer and nearer to the trees, and it would spread soon. "Bulbasaur, we have to do something!" Suddenly, a girl came out running from behind the trees on the other side of the clearing. It was then he realised there was a tent nearby, it was obviously her camp site. She shouted frantically when she saw the fire. "Whaaaaat? Luca, did you do this?" The Charmander just hid behind her leg. "Tyler, Gale, quick, put it out or something!" A Pidgey and a Butterfree also flew in from the trees, holding some berries. Obviously they had been gathering food. The Butterfree suddenly cast yellow pellets towards her owner, causing her to freeze still. "What? Bulbasaur, what are we gonna do?" Bulbasaur used his best solution to a problem, charging straight towards the fire with Tackle. Just before he reached it, the wind blew in his direction, causing the fire to fan towards him. Bulbasaur ran away from it as fast as he could, jumping into Isaac's arms. Luckily, the winds suddenly calmed down, and the fire returned back to normal.

Later, Isaac and the girl sat on two logs around the fire. Bulbasaur was still cowering behind the log, scared from his earlier encounter with the flames. "Yeah, Gale... tends to do that." The girl spoke, talking about her Butterfree using Stun spore on it's own trainer. "Certainly sounds like trouble." "Yeah, we were off gathering berries. See, I figured that I would probably get lost, so I brought a tent and camping stuff, but I forgot the food. I don't know how Tyler managed to calm the winds using Gust, but it sure was good timing. I didn't know how much the wind had picked up while I was gone. And I don't even know how Luca got there. Anyway, I guess it's time to cook these berries." The Pidgey chirped in excitement, doing a little dance. The girl, who said she was called Dahlila, speared some of the berries on a stick, and started to roast it over the fire. The roasted berries were then shared around, and Isaac offered one to the scared Bulbasaur. However, he surprisingly turned his nose up at it. "Since when did you become such a food connoisseur?" Isaac questioned. Bulbasaur jumped up on the log, and gave some sort of long speech involving a lot of Bulba's and Saur's. "It sounds like Bulbasaur just doesn't like cooked berries." Suddenly, Tyler the Pidgey walked over to the same log, and started ... shouting at it or something? They both looked like they were about to start a fight. Dahlila stepped in, pushing them away. "Guys, calm down. You can have a battle if you really want, and the winner gets the kind of berries they want." Bulbasaur seemed to like this idea.

"Go, Bulbasaur!"

"Go, Tyler!"

The two Pokemon started circling around, preparing to strike. The Pidgey flew up into the air, flapping it's wings to use a Gust attack. However, by the time it had reached Bulbasaur the power of the wind had mostly petered out, only shoving Bulbasaur back a bit. "Bulbasaur, use Vine Whip!" Bulbasaur sprang into the air, using it's tendrils to whip at the air around Tyler, who managed to just dodge both of Bulbasaur's vines. "Tyler, use Aerial Ace!" Tyler did a loop, flying up and back down backwards, only to turn forwards towards the falling Bulbasaur, slamming himself into the ground alongside his opponent. "You can still do it Bulbasaur! Use Tackle!" Bulbasaur barged at Pidgey, knocking it back onto the floor, only for Pidgey to counter. "Tyler, you got this! Use Peck!" The beak blow knocked Bulbasaur down again. Tyler attempted to take flight. "Get up! Use Vine Whip, you can still win!" Bulbasaur hauled itself off the ground, launching two Vine whips towards the Pidgey. This time, the lashes hit Tyler in the wing, causing the Pidgey to have to make an emergency landing. "Tyler, you have to fly! You can do it!" Pidgey struggled to fly, realising it would have to fight Bulbasaur on the ground. It charged towards it beak first, ready to use a Peck attack, but Bulbasaur had other ideas. Bulbasaur launched many seeds from it's bulb, landing in a circle around Pidgey and trapping it. "Leech Seed!" The seeds suddenly sprouted up, draining Tyler's energy and feeding it into Bulbasaur. Since Tyler was too weak to fly away, Leech Seed was finally a viable strategy. It looked like Tyler had given up, and was too weak to battle. Bulbasaur was already eating it's berries. Suddenly, Tyler got up, and the two started scrapping over the berries. "Gah! Again?" Isaac screamed. "Those two really do not get along." Dahlila commented. All of a sudden, a large burst of flame appeared in front of them, sending them both packing. Luca stepped out from it, and then ran to hide behind Dahlila. Pidgey and Bulbasaur both seemed too scared to fight anymore. "Well, I guess that's one way to solve a problem." Dahlila said. Isaac walked over to the abandoned Berry pile. "What's so special about these anyway?" Just as he was saying that, one of the berries got up, opened it's eyes, and walked away. Then a second one. Then a third. "Whaaaaa?" Dahlila laughed. "SOMEBODY... (she said, looking at Gale) must have gathered a pile of Oddishes instead." Isaac watched them trot off into the rising sun, one by one in a perfect line. "Well, I guess that's my cue to continue on. Gotta get to Cerulean." "Oh, I'm going there too. Probably won't go yet, have to clean this mess up. But I'm sure I'll see you again." Isaac set off, Bulbasaur in tow, following the Oddishes towards his next destination.
