The Truth Behind...: The Truth Behind Pokemon in Super Smash Bros.

by DopeLeafeon470

DopeLeafeon470 Wait wait wait! I know this is technically not Pokemon, but it's something, right?
So recently I've played Super Smash Bros. with my bud Connor, and I've realized: Why did Nintendo decide to include Pokemon in this game? Not hard at all. And it's not because they were published by Nintendo. I'm DopeLeafeon, and this is the Truth Behind Pokemon in Super Smash Bros. (Mainly Brawl)

I'll be honest with you; Nintendo did a pretty bad job portraying Pokemon in the Smash universe. Yeah, some of their costumes originate from other Pokemon or Trainers, but that was mainly Gen 1. Like, everyone at Nintendo are Genwunners. They got Pikachu, Charizard, Squirtle, Ivysaur, Jigglypuff, Lucario...and, for DLC. They could've done Rowlet. They could've done Mimikyu. They could've done Blaziken, for all I care. But nope. Their inner Genwunners told them Mewtwo. Now, before you pick up your pitchforks and torches, writing an angry comment saying "R U A MEWTWO HATER!!!1!!!!!!1" Because I'm not. I'm just saying Nintendo had a lot more opportunities for other Pokemon. Now, back to the game. Only three characters made the cut into the Smash Brawl Story Mode: Pikachu, Pokemon Trainer, and Lucario. Problem is, all of them except Pokemon Trainer are doing something useful. Pikachu has an excuse, but not Lucario. For those of you who don't know, Pikachu is being sapped from its electricity from Angel Island Zone over here as a power source, Pokemon Trainer is fighting back the Primids, (The Heartless of Nintendo) and Lucario is awaiting a challenger at the top of the Ice Climbers mountain. Nintendo got the right idea overall for Pikachu and Lucario, but not Pokemon Trainer. First of all, Pokemon Trainer is supposed to be based off of Red in the games, who doesn't talk, and second of all, Pokemon Trainer has all three starters...how did he do that? I get that you can get the trio in Pokemon Yellow, but that would mean Pikachu belongs to Pokemon Trainer and isn't a stray. But maybe Nintendo made up for it somehow. All of the three Pokemon's allies treat them like they're really friends. Lucas looks up to Pokemon Trainer as a role model, Samus treats Pikachu like a real ally, and Meta Knight takes Lucario seriously. Anyway, blah blah blah, Greninja Splashes In, done. His D-Air is cool though. Extremely low tier, however...hey, I'm DopeLeafeon, and I hope you all have a fabulous day!
