The Restless Souls: Chapter One

by DoggoKing22

DoggoKing22 THIS IS CHAPTER ONE OF MY JoJo's Bizarre Adventure STORY!!!!!!

WARNING! The characters and stands in this story are made by me. If you are a fellow JoJo fan, and I unknowingly steal a stand/character made by you, let me know. The names of these stands are also referencing pop culture songs (like in the actual series), so don’t think I stole the names. Also this fan fiction/story is sort of similar (in some parts of the story) to JJBA Part 4: Diamond is Unbreakable, but with some twists and turns.
ANOTHER NOTE: There will be some places in this story that don’t exist IRL.
(If you didn't read the BG Summary of the events that lead up to the events in this story, then here it is)

The world is starting to recover after technology began evolving. The world’s atmosphere and oceans were ridden of its huge amounts of pollution floating around, and the carbon levels went back to normal. Gas cars and trucks became a thing of the past as electric ones would replace them. From these details, it sounds like Earth is back to normal, right? Wrong.

In North America, 2030, people have suddenly begun to go missing and found dead in random places days after their disappearance. Citizens of the United States began to hypothesize that a murderer is on the loose in New York since that’s where the recent murders took place. They started to name this unknown murderer “The Second Jack” as a nod to 1888’s own “Jack the Ripper”. This killing spree went on for almost a whole year before it had mysteriously stopped. After that bloody event, most of the people around America and the world forgot about the occurrence.

Until today, three years later………

(Now, ON WITH THE STORY!!)

CHAPTER ONE: IN COMES TAKODA

Monday, September 5th, 2033. New York City, New York. 6:50 A.M. Half an hour before school starts.

In a really populated state, there was a really big city. In the really big city, there was a small neighborhood. In the small neighborhood, there was a fairly big house. And in that fairly big house, our main character lived.

“Come on, ma. Can’t I just stay home today? We just finished moving in last night. I don’t even know why we moved out of Connecticut in the first place!” A person began to say to his mother, who was in a different room while he got his clothes ready.

“I don’t care if you want to stay home or not. It’s your first day of high school and I don’t want you to miss it! And I told you already, your father found an awesome job here in New York. Plus, it’s like a fresh new start for us.” She replied back with a sort of loud voice.

The teenager finished putting on his clothes as he looked over at her, “But what if I’m not able to make friends? You realize it’s not easy making friends, right?”

The mother walked over to her kid and put her hands on his shoulders, changing her voice into a more soothing one. “Takoda Haijono. Listen to me. I know you have to retake freshman year, but you are going to have a good time here. I promise. Nothing bad is going to happen while we’re here.” She leaned in and kissed the now known Takoda on the side of his head before she pointed at the door. “Now go make mom and dad proud!”

Takoda smiled as he grabbed his bag and ran out the door, “You got it, ma. I won’t let you two down!” He went down the steps to his house, looking at the empty spot in the driveway where his father’s car was supposed to be. Why does dad’s work have to be super early in the morning? I never get the chance to see him when I wake up. Takoda thought as he stared at the spot when he went down the staircase.

It was somehow quite a chilly day today. Partly cloudy skies and bitter winds. The city was bustling lively people and loud cars, like how they show it in movies and shows. People are having themselves a grand old time. Takoda started walking down the sidewalk with the wind whipping around, looking at the multiple buildings and houses around him as he made it to the bus stop.

The bus stop wasn’t anything special to Takoda. It was just an ordinary bus stop at a local park, but this one was next to a little fountain with small fish swimming around in it. Seeing that this was the first thing he sees at the stop, he thought of something to do because it’s going to take a while for the bus to come. He crouched down at the fountain, took out his phone from his front pocket, and took a picture of the fish at the right moment they were close together. Looking at the picture, he smiled as he noticed that one of the fish was looking at the camera with its mouth open like it was a whale coming up from the bottom of the ocean to get some air. It was then that he heard an unfamiliar voice talking in Takoda’s ear.

“What’cha got there, kid? Somethin’ good ya wanna show us?” The voice said with a heavy New York accent, making Takoda jump up and quickly turned around, revealing a group of 5 students who looked like they were in their senior years of high school. Only a second or so passed, and the student that was talking before started talking again, impatiently. “You didn’t answer my question. I asked what is in your hand?”

“It’s just a picture I took of the fish in the fountain. They looked cute so I thought it would be a fun idea to take a picture of them swimming around. Is there a problem with that or something?” Takoda questioned who he assumed was the leader of the group that was talking to him while he put his phone back into his pocket.

The group of jocks couldn’t help but laugh at what he said, “Are you kidding? Fish ain’t cute, buddy. They useless. All they do is swim and eat. There’s nothing special about them at all.” another member of the group spoke as he tried to calm himself down from laughing.

Seeing that the rest of the group agreed with that one member, Takoda had shaken his head with the sheer amount of disappointment he had for the seniors. “Well, I think that fish have just as equal lives as we do. They may be small, but they can achieve great things if they work together as a unit.”

The group of 5 looked at each other and grinned when they thought of a plan. They all looked at the not-really-freshman, thinking they won the argument between them and Takoda.

“Rule one of talking to us: Never get into a fight with us.” The leader reached into his pocket and pulled out a pocket knife, which triggered Takoda’s worries of getting hurt. “Two: If you win the argument. We like to watch you suffer. And since there is no one here to help you, we’re gonna beat you senselessly until you learn your lesson.”

All Takoda did was smirk at that, replying with a simple "Not today."

“....Whaddya mean “not today? It’s happenin’ right now. Can’t ya see that through your thick skull?” The senior lunged forward at the teen with the knife in front of him, thinking he’ll be able to stab him.

Except it didn’t happen.

For some reason, his whole body stopped moving, like it was frozen in place. Struggling to move, he glared at Takoda, who was glaring at him back.

Takoda then decided to speak again, “Did I stutter? I said you’re not going to hurt anyone or anything while I’m here with your dumbass. Can’t YOU see that through your thick skull?” Without a moment passing, he was quickly forced onto the ground, dropping the knife. He tried getting back up, but it felt like there were super strong winds pushing him back down to the ground. Even the rest of the group felt the winds from a couple of feet away. This went on and on, until the bus finally came, where Takoda finally stopped the winds and walked away, I think I’ll just walk to school. I don’t want to be near them.

The gang leader got up and scoffed as he walked onto the bus, with most of the group following behind, “I wanna kill him so badly right now. I can’t believe I lost to a KID!”

It says “with most of the group following behind” because one of the group members stayed at the stop, watching Takoda walk away. The member looked at his leader, and back at Takoda. Leader, then Takoda. Senior jock, to freshman weirdo. He made his decision and followed behind Takoda, before calling out to him as he ran, “Yo, kid! Wait up!”

Takoda turned around as he saw the person from the group run up to him. Confused, he replied to him with a direct “Why are you following me? You want to get your ass handed to you too?”

“N-no. That’s not it. I just wanted to apologize for how my friends treated you. They always do stuff like that to students under their grade since they think they’re high above everyone else. Plus I wanted to talk to you about something important.” The teenager scratched the back of his head, smiling a little bit and seeing the school bus from before drive by them.

“…You’re lucky you’re the one being nice to me. You’re forgiven. But first, start with the basics. Who are you and why are you following me?” Takoda mumbled to the other student as he started walking again, with the other walking next to him.

“Yeah. You’re right. Gotta introduce myself.” The senior laughed a little bit before talking again. “Ivan. My name is Ivan. Nice to meet you. By the way, you look too old to be a freshman. I don’t wanna be rude, but what’s up with that?”

“Takoda. A pleasure to meet you too. I was supposed to be a Sophomore this year, but my family moved here from Connecticut in late August, so I have to retake Freshman year. That’s why.”

“Wow. That must suck, man.” Ivan added

“Yeah. It kinda does.” Takoda looked over at Ivan and flashed a small smile before looking forward again. “Anyway, you wanted to talk to me about something?”

“Um…yeah.” Ivan hesitated before he started to talk again, “How do I put this? I……saw the arms.”

Takoda suddenly stopped walking, completely shocked at that answer. He slowly looked over at Ivan again, who was also making eye contact with him. “………Run that by me one more time. I don’t think I heard you correctly.”

Ivan inhaled through his teeth before speaking. “I saw the four arms coming out of your body while the others and I were watching my friend get forced to the ground by you.”

“………………So you’re telling me……that you can see Mr. Blue Sky?!”

“If that’s…the name of your stand………………………then yeah. That’s the important thing I wanted to talk to you about. I’m someone like you.”
