The Mirrors: The Mirrors: The Past (P1)

by RenzFlintrock

RenzFlintrock This is based on idea I had years ago... I’m partly making this up as I go and partly basing it on the original.
Long ago...

In the land of Darvenia ruled a fair and beautiful queen, known as Queen Mira. This queen had ruled the land for many, many years. She was said to have magical powers, and some said she had the power of eternal youth.

Now, one day when Queen Mira was holding court in her palace and passing judgement over the disputes brought to her by the people, there came a messenger runnuing in.

“Mistress! Mistress,” he cried, “The baron is plotting against you! He is coming with treacherous plans!”

The queen had heard some report of Baron Bloomstead’s ways, how he extorted those he could and was cruel to his servants. Nothing had been proved, however, and Mira was a good queen who tried to give the benifit of the doubt. So, she told the messenger to rest. There was to be a banquet that night, and all the nobles of the land had been invited, including Bloomstead. The cooks were all busy, beggining preparations for the feast.

As the settling of disputes came to a close, some of the nobles began to arrive in pomp and ceremony. Each noble came to the palace with a small group of servants, including trumpeters, drummers and soldiers. The nobles and their parties were all in ceremonial array, each sporting their colors.

First of all came the Earl of Ornithian. He came first in his party, riding on a splendid horse, and both horse and rider sported Green and Purple, iridescent cloth. The Earl also carried a spear, which was held upright as he rode. From the top flew the Royal Flag, a gold crown on a purple ground, and underneath flew the Earl’s flag, a green hummingbird on a purple ground. The rest of the Earl’s party were also on horseback, decked out in green clothing and bearing swords at their sides. They made a magnificent spectacle, and it was perfected by the trumpets sounding from the mounted musicians of the Earl.

This was only the first of many nobles to arrive, each displaying a similar entrance, with the primary difference being the colors they wore. Soon, all the nobles were within the castle and the banquet began. It was an excellent meal, and the roast chicken was a great favorite. The Queen sat at the head of the table, and the wives of the noblemen sat near her. They chatted gaily, while the noblemen chuckled and guffawed at each other’s jests. The next day there would be a state meeting between the nobles, with Mira presiding, but tonight was a time of merriment.

I like how theres the idea of a plot twist without a guarantee that somethibg bad will happen. Spelling could use some work, like benefit, not benifit.

Anyways, good job. Its good to see something different here on Pokecharms.
