Chapter 17: Altar Of The Moone
They had been wondering Vast Poni Canyon for a while, and there had been many tough trainers to challenge. At a bridge they had met the Fairy type trail captain, Mina. She said she was still in training, but gave them Fairium Z as a gift. On the bright, Flame and Mal decided to Double Battle Sun and Moon. "I choose you! Noivern!" "Go, Frogadier!" "Get 'em, Mimikyu!" "Go, Munchlax!"
Flame's newly caught Noivern used Boomburst, firing a large wave of sound towards Mimikyu and Munchlax. Mimikyu dodged, it's disguise being busted by the attack, and Munchlax fell back. "Frogadier, Bubblebeam!" Mal's Frogadiers bubbles hit Mimikyu, knocking it back. Suddenly, Munchlax was engulfed in a glowing light, as he increased in size hugely. "Snooor!" "Snorlax, use Snorlium-Z! Pummelling Pancakes!" Snorlax jumped up, charging towards Noivern and crushing it with a belly slam, defeating it. "Mimikyu, use Wood Hammer!" Frogadier was knocked out by a large swinging log. "Umbreon, swap in!" "Eevee, do me proud!" Umbreon used Dark Pulse, retaliating to defeat Mimikyu. "Eevee, use Take Down!" Eevee recklessly charged into Snorlax, knocking it over. Snorlax couldn't get back up, and could no longer battle. "I choose you, Turtonator!" "Go, Drampa!" "Umbreon, use Shadow Ball!" Turtonator was pelted with a shadowy ball. "Turtonator, use Fire Blast!" "Drampa, use Dragon Pulse!" Two beams fired from the dragon Pokemon into Eevee, knocking the poor Pokemon back. Eevee fell to the floor, looking like it might cry. "Umbreon, Dark Pulse!" Turtonator was knocked out by a ringing wave of darkness. "Drampa, Dragon Pulse!" Umbreon embraced the attack, expecting it to be the final hit. Suddenly, a pink Pokemon jumped in front, deflecting the Dragon Pulse away at Drampa, knocking it out. "Wow, Eevee evolved! Good job Sylveon!" They congratulated each other, and continued onwards to an engraved stone that said "Trial Ground Ahead." A foreboding wind blew through the barren canyon as they carried on, only a golden pedestal in sight.
They reached the Pedestal, and many Dragonium Z was inside. They reached out to get it, but suddenly a huge, armour plated Pokemon dropped down in front d them, the ground shaking. "Ko-Ko Komo!" Totem Kommo-O was ready to give them their final trial. They sent out their Pokemon. "Greninja, use Ice Beam!" Flame said. Kommo-O seemed to shrug off the attack, retaliating by knocking out Greninja with a Sky uppercut. "Go, Lapras!" Rose sent out her newest Pokemon. "Ice Beam!" Another Ice Beam, hitting Kommo-K from the other side. It slowly rotated, angling a Clanging Scales sound blast towards Lapras, defeating it. "Go, Tauros!" Hau's Tauros charged towards Kommo-O, but the totem caught it by the horns and threw it away. "Go, Gallade!" Ama sent out Gallade, and knocked it back with a Psycho Cut. A single Dragon Claw knocked out Gallade however. Not even Decidueye or Primarina could defeat it, being tossed aside. "Go, Kommo-O!" Isaac sent out his latest Pokemon, charging up to the Totem from behind. The Totem Pokemon turned to receive a Dragon Claw to the face, knocking it back as dust flew everywhere and the ground shook. "Sky Uppercut!" Isaac performed an Uppercut, Kommo-O moving at the same time and hitting the Totem in the chin, launching it up as it dropped back to the ground KO-ed, shaking the earth. They took their Dragonium Z and left the canyon. There was the colossal steps leading up to the majestic Altar of the Moone. "Guess we'd better start climbing." Lillie spoke.
The group had finally reached the top of the hill, and the shining moon was already high in the sky. Isaac and Lillie stood to the each side of the Altar, on the circular plate with one of the flutes each. They started to play the flute, and the plates they stood on started to glow a light blue. The circular plate on the Monolith started to open up, revealing a glow beneath it, firing a laser into the central plate and making it glow with a fierce brightness. Lillie was shocked as she put down the flute and her bag flew away into the central plate, into a light storm, spinning around the light, Cosmoem floating out of the bag as it flew back. Cosmoem floated up slowly into the centre of the ball, the ball exploding open into a shattering display of crystalline light, a huge bat like Pokemon emerging and floating up into the sky. "Lunala! Nebby... I had no idea, after all my reading, that you would evolve into the legendary pokemon! Lunala... No, Nebby. Take me to my mother." Lillie said. Lunala flew up, glowing white as it made itself into a crescent moon shape, and creating an Ultra Wormhole. The group were sucked in, and could feel time and space twisting and breaking around them as their reality folded into the wormhole.
