Waking up was a pain. Having slept on the branches of a large oak tree was not the best idea. He fell flat on his face! But where else could he sleep? The pokemon on ground level were so mean and adjictated by his existence. And he never knew his home. All he could remember was that it was attacked and burned to the ground. He was so young then, he could hardly remember what his parents looked like! He was always alone in Sinoh....
While jumping from branch to branch, he heard a loud wail and the sound of a crackling fire. Startled, he ran to the sound, but only to find a little cubone being tortured by some torkle. The cubone seemed to have made a little grave, right next to the mother. And the torkal were ATTACKING it! Tearinf it down as soon the poor creature tried to fix it again.
The cubone tried in vain to fight back, but the torkal were far to strong. Upon hitting the grave, one of them had knocked into the cubone, sending him flying through the air. In a dash, Night ran for the little guy and caught him just before he hit the ground. Angry, he threw mud and rocks to scare the bullies away.
Then, he set the Cubone down and helped rebuild the grave. And when it was satisfied, Night chose to leave. But the cubone kept following him! It had grown attached to him so quickly.
"I'm sorry but you shouldn't come with me. These woods are very dangerous. I'd go over to the lake, west of here, if i were you."
But the cubone ignored him and gave his leg a warm, long hug. It wasn't leaving his side.
"Fine," he said, picking up the little pokemon. "You can come with me, but it's up to you to protect yourself."
"CUBII!" The cubonr replied gleefully.
"Well, i at least know what to call you, Cubi! It's official then. Welcome aboard, brother."
Putting Cubi on his shoulders, he ran through the woods laughing and playing with his new best friend...
