Lealista Clan: Styx

by Rainbowditto

Rainbowditto Sorry! It's been a while since I've uploaded, and it's been kinda hard for me to get back into my writing swing.
Run. That's all you can do at the moment. Run and run until everything wrong goes away. Of course, that's not how things work, that's never how they work. But the running can get you away from the wrongness, even if it can't go away. As you run, your breath becomes quick, and your heart pounds in your ribcage. It beats like a beast beating at the walls of a cage, but you keep running, never looking back.
The landscape begins to change, and the flesh and scab encrusted ground takes a steep dip. Your claws grab a hold of the ground tightly, so not to slip, but you end up tumbling over your head anyway. Bones of an old creature stick out from the ground, some rotted flesh still sticking to it, and you hit a large thigh bone with a sickening crack. Stars erupt into your eyes, but you're up in a second, shaking your pained head and moving on.
Grass begins to poke its way up inbetween your claws, and soon large trees loom over your head. The canopy is thick, and you can hardly see anything but shadows in the dark. You don't stop, however, but keep moving instead. Luckily, your direction leads you to a patch of glowing mushrooms, each one light blue in color. Yet you're not far enough, never far enough, and you still keep running.
The mushrooms fade off behind you, and the darkness clouds your vision. There's a thunk, and it takes you a moment to realize that you had hit a tree. Slowly, the stars return to your eyes, and you topple over. Your sides heave up and down as your head spins, but you refuse to stop moving. Lifting a single talon, you slowly pull yourself up, only to fall back over again. You squeeze your eyes shut and begin to wheeze. This wouldn't have happened if you had only just told him. He was your mate, your only true friend, and you've betrayed him.
A shudder passes through you, and you slip into unconsciousness.

It takes you a moment to realize that you were moving, but you are in fact going somewhere without actually walking. You're moving at a slow, steady pace, and the sound of footsteps seems to pound in your ears. A head turns around to look at you, and your stomach drops. Hanson.
Rolling off of him, you regain your surroundings. Dust is clouding around your face, and the smell of dirt is strong in your nostrils. Hanson had taken you to Dragonhome. You snarl at him after fixing your footing, "What're you doing?"
He blinks at you slowly before continuing to walk ahead. "Excuse me?" you hiss, "I asked you a question-"
Hanson cuts you off. "I followed you, and I'm taking you home."
Now it's your turn to blink. Slowly, you chase after him at a trot. "I don't need your help!" You snort at him before continuing, "You're the reason I left in the first place, douches like you have no right to come and retrieve me."
Hanson pauses, "I know, but CloudStormer wants you back."
You stop in your tracks, and your heart practically stops. Did he really want you back? Even after...
"As if." you mutter, "Nobody wants me back, I practically tricked him, I broke his heart."
There's a brief, awkward pause, but Hanson replies after a few moments. "That's not true. I explained everything to him, and he isn't angry, just worried about you." He looks at the dirt. "Not even at me."
Another silence comes and goes before you begin to walk forward wordlessly. Hanson follows you after a moment, and the two of you travel in silence.
