"Because Melia says he's involved with the X Cell and the orbs in some way."
"He's at least involved with the latter. Salazar and I saw him lose control of his body when in contact with them. You two contained them, right?"
"Yep!"
"Of course. But is Melia's word alone really enough?"
"Has Melia ever steered us wrong? Her visions are accurate - you know this."
"Fine, I'll trust her judgement. But if he hinders us more than helps-"
"Everyone, he's waking up!"
"Ugh... Where the heck am I...?"
"AH! WAKING UP ALERT! ALEEEERT!"
"WHA-WHAT?!"
"Oops, sorry! I thought you were a biggy biggy for a moment!"
"Where did you take me?!"
"Oh, just our base!"
"What do you mean with 'our base'?!"
"Hey, Alex." Rocky said, removing the blindfold they had placed on Alex. In the room was Salazar, Rocky, Gallade, a Tyranitar, a Pachirisu, an Absol and a Greninja. "Welcome to the base of the Light Shadows. Sorry for bringing you here like this, but we had to."
"Rocky?! Wait, what?! Light Shadows?!"
"Yeahhh! Epic Light Shadows!!!"
"Hi, Alex."
"Salazar?! Your here, too?! What are you guys doing here?!"
"We're part of the Light Shadows."
"And.. Might you explain what the Light Shadows are?"
"Epic super team with lot's-a adventures on the way! WOO!"
"..Okay then..?"
"Quiet down, Patch." the Greninja said, stepping forwards. He was the one who had knocked out Alex earlier. "My name is Moonshadow, but the world knows me as Water Blade. I'm the leader of this band of fighters who have been chosen to fight alongside me to stop the dark forces at work here. And to that end, we'd like to recruit you."
"You did the rough entrance, I guess.. But, why would you need me?" Alex asked, since he had no clear idea of why someone like him would recruit him. "Yeah, chief, why would you need him?" Patch asked.
"Because a major part of our plan involves the Orbs... which you had an obvious reaction to." Gallade said. "I apologize for taking you here the way we did, but our enemies are everywhere. We have to be as silent as possible."
"Gallade and Rocky are key members of our team, and so far we've managed to secure four orbs." Moonshadow continued. "We've contained them, so you won't be affected. But you had a reaction. That tells us you're important... as well as another thing."
"Ah, I get it now. Though I have no idea why I would react to the Orbs. And, funny thing, my pulse raced when I was near the Orb.. Like I.. remembered it from something." Alex mumbled. "Is he an alien?!" Patch exclaimed. "Uh, no way, Patch. Aliens don't exist." Salazar mumbled.
"Not an alien, per say, but he's not from our world." an Absol said, stepping forwards. "His presence is extra-dimensional. I think he's from another dimension."
"ANOTHER-?!" the Tyranitar said, falling over in shock. "But Melia, that's just a theory!"
"I'm from the human world."
"AH! THE HUMAN WORLD!? Wait, what's a human!"
"Humans aren't Pokemon."
"So, Pokemon don't live in the human world?!"
"Nope. Unfortunately not."
"Aw, that's a bummy bummer.."
"Anyway, what's the plan?"
"I assume you haven't heard of Xyxelium, correct?"
"Nope.. What is it?"
"Tell 'em, W.B."
"The X, as we like to call it, is a force that exists over the world." Moonshadow said. "We don't know exactly what it is, but we know that its mere presence is slowly tearing apart the fabric of reality itself. Currently, it's asleep in the form of something we call the X Cell. But if it awakens... it could change the universe for the worst. The Orbs are connected to it, and might just be our only hope of stopping it."
"I get it. So, you want my help in order to stop X, right?" Alex asked. "That's the gist of it." Salazar said. "So... Can I look around the base..?" Alex asked.
"Yep! It's super epic!" Patch exclaimed."
"As much as a cave can be." Melia said, a small chuckle under her breath. "When the world's scared of your face, you don't often get time to buy real estate."
"We're currently planning to get another orb, and we'd like your cooperation." Moonshadow continued.
"Alright then.."
"So, when are we starting, W.B.?"

A few hours later, by daybreak, Gallade and Moonshadow were creeping around the port that had been visited earlier by Water Blade. The Greninja landed in a boat, and everyone nearby fled for their lives. Gallade went over, Patch, Salazar and Alex behind him. "I'll have to stay here to keep up appearances." Gallade said, heading out. Moonshadow began to start the boat.
"Out on the water, there's a temple." Moonshadow said. "In that temple is one of the Orbs we're looking for. If we can get it, then that's another Orb secured. As far as we know, though, our enemies might already have it. But sometimes you've got to make leaps of faith. This is one of them." The boat sailed out onto the sea. It was a fast one, so it was less than a minute before they were out of eye's view.
"Understood!"
"Gotcha!"
"Gotcha, chief!"
"So, where to next?"
"I'm guessing Big Top Bug Tree. It is somehow related to the Orbs, and there might be one in there."
"Well, let's go there then!"
"We've already sent Tyran to investigate, and Rocky will be joining him as soon as possible. The Water Temple is a separate location." Moobshadow said, as the boat pulled up to the temple. "You three will go ahead. I'll follow you from a distance, to make sure we won't be ambushed."
A while later, Alex and the others had made it to the final floor of the temple. Moonshadow ran up behind them. There was a large blue crystal floating in the air, which Moonshadow broke with Extreme Speed. From the shattered remains, a blue orb fell to the ground. The Greninja slammed a grey shell around it before it could have any effects on Alex. "There we go. We've got what we came for."
"It'd be rude for me to not thank you for bringing an Island Orb right to me." a voice said.
"What...?! We've been followed!" Moonshadow said, creating two Water Shurikens. "Patch! Salazar! Alex! On guard!"
"I respect what you do, Water Blade. But from one villain to another... my master needs that orb. And I'll be taking it!" Weavile said, jumping down from the ceiling. Five Sneasel jumped down as well, surrounding the group of four.
"Just perfect." Moonshadow said, brow furrowed. "Looks like we'll have to fight for the right to keep the orb. Take down the Sneasel! I've got the boss!" The ninja leaped towards Weavile, engaging battle.
"Uh oh! We've really gotten tough company here." Alex prepared a Force Palm attack.
"Totally!" Patch's cheeks began to electrify.
"Let's dig them down!" Salazar began to use Dig, punching a Sneasel from down below.
Moonshadow and Weavile began to battle, blitzing about and exchanging blows. The two appeared evenly matched, until Moonshadow smacked Weavile into the air and comboed him with Extreme Speed.
A Sneasel flew towards Alex with a metal Claw, attempting to slash him in half.
Alex dodged, and then used a Force Palm. It was a super effective hit. Patch, on the other hand, was using Charm on Sneasel.
The Charmed Sneasel attacked one of the others, and the Sneasel hit by Alex flew back. It then charged a Shadow Ball and sent it flying towards Alex. The Sneasel Salazar had punched was down, another was charging towards Salazar in its place.
"Tee-hee! Am I SO attractive?" Patch said, blushing.
"..Was that necessary, Patch?" Salazar said, giving off a 'Really?' look.
Alex countered the Shadow Ball with a Bone Rush, giving a slight drop of sweat while doing so. "I've done this before.. I know it!"
Salazar used Rock Slide on the Sneasel which was charging up towards him.
The Sneasel were all taken out, just as Weavile was thrown into the wall by Moonshadow. "Let's go! Back to the boat! It's a lot faster going up than it is going down!" They soon arrived at the island itself... and saw something shocking. "The water's... BLACK?!" Moonshadow hopped into the boat, starting it up. "Let's get back to the cave. Hopefully, the others have completed their mission."
Everyone followed, though Alex looked at the water with straight curiosity. Suddenly, Alex remembered something.
An Orb signal lighted up in his head.
"I... Th-This...! SALAZAR! PATCH! MOONSHADOW! I CAN REMEMBER SOMETHING OF MY PAST!"
"Wait, what!? What do you remember?!"
"I remember something.. I've seen this water before! I remember being with a certain Pokemon and being in Slate Temple!"
"What?!" Moonshadow said, astounded. "That's impossible! There was no black water in Slate Temple! Gallade and Salazar have confirmed this." Moonshadow set the boat blitzing off again - this time to an abandoned patch of land.
"There's not much more I can remember, but I do now know that.. This black water... It's related to X!"
"No way, that's not possible. Xyxelium is currently in the X Cell. He could not have escaped."
"I don't know much either, but... I'll have to try to find out more."
"Geezy geez, my little heart is totally out of control right now, zap zap!"
"We'll have to discuss this with the others." Moonshadow said, the boat pulling up. "Patch and I will return to the base, and await the return of the others. Alex, you and Salazar have already been gone long enough. You'll have to return to the town to keep up appearances. Salazar will take you back to the base tonight - we'll discuss our next move then."
"Got you. I'll be going back to Sunset Town and telling everyone that I'm back, and I'll keep my connection with the Light Shadows a secret."
"Won't give up on a promise, right?"
"I never do! See you, Moonshadow."
"Before we actually GO... Moonshadow, hide. We're taking in our former sea express, Sharpedo, who doesn't trust you one bit."
Salazar made a loud whistle, causing a Sharpedo to come up to the patch of land.
"Arr, mateys. You called?"
"I did, Sharpedo. We want you to take us back to Slate Island."
"Gotcha, fellas. Arr, we headin' off to sail! Hop on, lads!"
Alex and Salazar hopped on Sharpedo, and they sailed off. Alex giving a goodbye wave to Moonshadow.
Moonshadow hid, waving goodbye. He lifted up a tree trunk, revealing a hidden passageway. He and Patch entered, crawling through the tunnels that followed. They soon made it back to Melia's private cave, where Melia, Rocky and Tyran were waiting with another orb.
"Looks like we all completed our mission." Tyran said gruffly. "Where's Salazar and the new kid?"
"I sent them back home - they need to keep up appearances. And Salazar can help Alex keep his connection a secret." Moonshadow said. "We've got six orbs - and by our calculations, that's half of them. But we're not finished yet. Have we learned anything about where our enemy could be hiding?"
"Well, I do have a few leads..." Tyran said, smiling.
