Tsunami. What a journey you and I have had. We have been through so much together. I still remember the day you were born back in Kanto. When you hatched from your Egg I gave you the name Tsunami after your ancestor who was always by my side battling strong opponents until evolving from Horsea to Seadra in Kanto and then into Kingdra after arriving in Johto. Regrettably he couldn’t come with me to Hoenn but he’s been enjoying his retirement in White City after wreaking havoc in the Prime Cup and Gym Leader’s Castle.
After you were born, you and I trained hard in Kanto for a while before heading over to Hoenn to win some Pokémon Contests. It was actually laughable how easily you kicked everyone’s ass. Just goes to prove you were the most spectacular of them all. The Contests in Sinnoh were a different matter though. Do you remember how much trouble the Ultra and Master Ranks were? I guess I can be partially blamed for the difficulty. I have no sense of rhythm so teaching you to dance was no easy feat for me. But we still made it through like we always did!
Upon reaching Johto, you evolved into Kingdra much like your ancestor did. Born in Kanto and reaching your final evolution in Johto. It was kind of poetic I thought. We sure spent a lot of time there though. We made you a Leaf Crown from all of those Golden Leaves you kept finding. But most importantly, you once again showed the kind of badass you are by becoming a Medalist Pokémon in the Pokéathlon. I’m pretty sure you also beat every single record they had. You really are incredible Tsunami. By this point you had even become strong enough to give the Johto Battle Frontier a piece of your mind. Or at the very least the Battle Hall. With the moves Ice Beam, Surf, Dragon Pulse, and Draco Meteor you made quick work of those one-on-one battles without too much trouble.
Next we went to Unova. Even though there was no reward to be had, goofing off in a few Musicals was still a fun time. A talent scout noticed your accomplishments and insisted we star in a movie together which was entertaining. I don’t think it was a blockbuster hit but I’m pretty sure we still got a cult following. The real testament to your power came when you showed off just how strong you had become by soloing the entire Unova Elite Four. Shauntal couldn’t stop you. Grimsley couldn’t stop you. Marshal couldn’t stop you. Caitlin couldn’t stop you. And the reining Champion Iris? Her Dragons were completely curb-stomped. You even earned a few medals for such a lofty accomplishment. And the best part was you hadn’t even reached Lv100 yet. You were still only around the mid-80s. No, Lv100 came while we explored the White Tree Hollow in search of rumored treasure.
There isn’t much to say about our time in Kalos together. You kicked all the ass in the Battle Chateau. Those snobbish nobles didn’t realize just how destructive a Tsunami could be until they were already washed away. Of course, I showed you all the love and Affection you’re worth because you deserve all of it. But soon it was back to Hoenn. I almost wished you had been born in Hoenn so that your journey could have taken you full circle. A wonderful adventure around the world ending with your retirement in the land you were born. But we both know it was never meant to end there.
After our brief visit to Hoenn, it was once again off to a new land! The tropical islands of Alola were about to be hit by a Tsunami! I know, I already made that joke, I’m sorry. It just seemed more fitting in this situation. Even though you had already long since been fully trained, we learned that you could still get stronger through a method called Hyper Training. With your new found power, we took on more battles in Alola and won them all as we always have.
I know how much you were looking forward to continuing ahead with me but unfortunately it all ends here. I have received terrible news that Kingdra cannot travel to Galar. I can’t even smuggle you in. No matter how badly we both want it, I can’t take you with me. Not this time. But don’t worry Tsunami. This isn’t the end of our journey together. Once I finish what I need to do in Galar, we’ll go together to the next region. Hopefully. If the next region also bans Kingdra then I’ll keep holding out until we can be together again. I promise.
