My hair is blowing behind me, a swishing brown curtain of hair. I’m flying on my Pidgeot to the spot where Bill tracked Blue’s XTransceiver. I don’t know what happened, but I do know that Blue and Red have been gone for a while now. It’s a ways from Bill’s house just outside Cerulean City, but I’ll go any length if my friends are in trouble. It’s in a town called Mahogany, in the Johto region. Why Red and Blue are there, I don’t know. I sigh, and look at my XTransceiver. I pull up a map. It says that I’m in New Bark Town. I look and see that Mahogany Town’s just West of Blackthorn City, which is straight to the North of here. “Alright, Pidgeot,” I say, “Make a sharp right.” Pidgeot turns, and I see that we’re just parallel to Mount Silver. I painfully remember seeing Red on the ground in front of one of the mountain’s many caves, freezing cold, knocked out, and barely breathing. A trainer was just getting down the mountain, running. She told me that he had fallen after battling her at the summit. We took him to the Pokemon Center. Nurse Joy told us that he was lucky that he didn’t spend more time there, or he wouldn’t have survived. A tear forms in my eye and I jolt myself back to reality. For all I know, Red and Blue could be dying. The only way I know where they are is I went to Bill’s house to see if he could use his computer skills to find them. Other than that, I have no clue as to where they are.
After a while, I look down to see a city. I check my XTransceiver. We’re flying over Blackthorn City. I look away from my XTransceiver and see a trainer. No, not just any Trainer. It’s the Trainer that helped Red. Pidgeot needs a rest anyway. “Okay, let’s land here,” I say. Pidgeot makes a swift dive and lands next to the Pokemon Center. I return it to its Pokeball and walk over to the Trainer. “Hi!” I say. She startles, then recognizes me.
“Oh, hi! You’re the girl from Mount Silver, right? How’s Red doing?” She asks.
“Well… He and our friend Blue kinda-sorta-maybe went missing,” I say, hopefulness in my voice. “Could you help me out?”
The Trainer smiles. “Sure! By the way, I’m Lyra! What’s your name?” Now it’s my turn to smile.
“It’s Leaf,” I say. “You have no idea how much this means to me.” We talk a little bit, then I mount Pidgeot and Lyra mounts a Fearow. We fly to Mahogany Town, which apparently she knows the directions to a little better than me because she lives in the Johto Region. It’s a long flight, and it’s already getting dark, so we set up camp in the woods and hit the hay.
After a while, I look down to see a city. I check my XTransceiver. We’re flying over Blackthorn City. I look away from my XTransceiver and see a trainer. No, not just any Trainer.
