Pokemon Theory: Why Does Ash Want To Be a Master?

Ash, as we know, wants to be a pokemon master but why? Well I think it has something to do with his dad. We never see Ash's dad in the anime, but we know he is alive. Think about it Ash is obviously trying to impress someone, I think that he wants to show his father that he has come really far on his own, or trying to follow in his dads foot prints. Maybe his dad is a great Pokemon Master and he wants to show his father that he is too. I guess we won't know until he says it but it s fun to think about! Whatever the reason i still love the show and games!
